I went down to London a few years ago and was charged £11 for a glass of wine (would have been about a fiver at the time in Glasgow) We're not mean, we're just shocked at the prices when we head south. Maybe that's why they get the wrong impression.
I am from Yorkshire and we are also known as being "tight" but, to us, that doesn't translate to being mean, but being careful with our money. One of my grandmas was from Scotland and I know that Yorkshire 'fowk' and Scottish people are the same in this respect.
What an amazing video. Kudos to Diane and her hubby for fitting the bill and showing you how Scottish people really are. Kind and hospitable. I smiled the whole vid. ❤
So true, Scots are generally good people but Eddy, you give off such a positive vibe, Id be surprised if you didnt get a good reception anywhere you went. Or as us Glaswegians would say, 'ye'd get a piece at anybody's door'. 😂😂
Our Eddy boy, you’ve got an infectious personality pal. Hope you enjoyed Glasgow, fantastic city. On your next visit we’d love to welcome you to the Kingdom of Fife.

@Eddy Cheese , I see you found a Still Game filming location without realizing it . The statue at the beginning is that of former first minister Donald Dewar which stand in front of the John Lewis Department Store , which was the film location in Still Game where Winston was with Shug on the nightshift playing Boabies porn tape on the large screen .
I detect an Irish accent. Glasgow is nice. The people are just built different socially. It also goes the other way. We don't hold back when we need to. All around salt of the earth people
Pre-covid there were some other buses going to and from the airport, but they never brought them back after lockdown. I've had to get that £10 bus a few times - it's definitely quicker but it's such a rip off!! I met Donald Dewar but I was like 2 at the time so I can't remember! I've met another few First Ministers tho. Pavilion is a theatre, best known for Christmas pantos. If you want good fish and chips, avoid the Blue Lagoon! And Easyhotels almost never have windows in their rooms! Hope you get to visit Hampden as well as Ibrox and Celtic Park!

Cafe Gandolffi is a great place, I've been going there for years. I took my sister there for the first time, on her birthday a few weeks ago and she loved it. The food is always amazing, if you do to back I'd recommend trying the caramel shortcake, it's very sweet and delicious, it's also huge! (I couldn't finish it and ended up taking half home to enjoy later) it's also worth trying their tea, they handmake their own teabags and they have a lovely unique taste. I'm so glad you're enjoying your time here and love how excited and passionate you are to explore.

The Scottish are very generous and kind. I've never understood why the English people call us 'tight' 'mean' 'miserable'.
We're really not.
