I read that Zebra finches is the only finch that have a light-dependent magnetic compass similar to migratory birds. If it does have extra sense in detecting earths magnetic field does that also mean the Zebra finch has better senses than other birds like hearing and eyesight?

Hello. I need to ask a question to you because i cant find an answer on any website :/ I bought 2 finch. I said "i want a male and a female". I didnt realize until i get home. They was not look a like to each other. so i searched on google and realized they were 2 different type of finches. One of them called "Society" and the other one is "zebra." :/ Can they have babies even though they are different? (Sorry for my poor eng i tried my best to explain)
Hello my friend. Yes They can live together but crossbreeding is not advisable that is hybrid.. And crossbreeding is fatal They can produce infertile eggs. Zebra finch is easily to determine their gender with ther markings and beaks. unlike to the society that has no markings so its hard to know. You may only know they sexing by observing thr behavior. If singing( cock ) if not( hen).

@@BLTV86 i don't think she will accept it. since she was complaining about a similar problem like this when i was looking around the shop. Also, i like that society too its so cute i cant give that lil one back to her :D Maybe i can buy 1-2 more finches (zebra and society) since i dont want them to be lonely ._. well its still a problem that i dont know if society is male or a female :D Society isnt singing too much it usually chirping but if zebra starts to sing society starts to sing too. Also, thanks for answering to all of my questions 😊

Bird 2 is not a fawn hen, it is a Lightback Hen.
Bird 3 is not a fawn male, it is a Topaze Male.

Zebra finches is territorial so if you want a colony. You must have a big cage to prevent them from fighting.

- fawn cock = agate gris (je n'ai pas la correspondance anglaise)
-crested grey hen = crested light back grey hen
- yellow beeak hen = masque brun yellow beak hen
- yellow beak cock agate gris yellow beak cock
-BCBB = Black breasted only
-ob fawn cock = obbb fawn cock
