Quick update: Looks like a LOT of people are experiencing pretty serious performance issues with the game at launch. I seem to have lucked out as I've been running a solid 2k 60fps in my entire playthrough so far (about 60 hours). Really bummed to hear so many people are having this problem. I know PC performance can be fairly unpredictable and random, seen reports of both low and high end setups effected. It's a shame because I think the game itself is quite good. I'm liking it as much, and in some ways more, than Monster Hunter World. Hope they can fix this for all those effected.
I don’t like that people keep saying it’s a replacement or not because Battlefield and CoD and other fps can co-exist as thousands of fighting games do too but for some franchises people always mentioning replacements when another title uses their formula
MH really needs some competition because although Rise was better, the content was extremely sloppy when it came out on PC. They didn't have the final boss in for heaven's sake.
@@Moogle that’s bs. Both of those games are fps’s just like both wild hearts and mh are of the monster hunting genre. Monster Hunter is a monopoly and one thing I realized in gaming is, everything bad and wrong about gaming aren’t these mega corporations. It’s just as much the gamers problem if not more. Gamers support the worst business practices and when they want to, THEY ARE SURE to monopolize a genre by 1 game. This case? MONSTER HUNTER. Same thing in the “souls like” world. Monopolized by 1 thing, FROMSOFT. Anything outside of that 1 thing, people make a conscience effort to shit all over the product and go on smear campaigns and that’s exactly what I’m seeing with Wild Hearts. UA-camr has positive impressions and starts loving the game “it’s not monster hunter tho” “I guess it’ll hold me over till monster hunter world 2”, “I bet the endgame is trash”, “20 monsters? I’ll just keep playing monster hunter”. Wow, ITS ALMOST like this is a studio with a lower budget and are creating a new IP. WHO WOULDA THUNK IT YA BABY BACK B!TCHES😱😱😱. I’m supporting wild hearts. From what has been going around, these developers worked their ASSES OFF for this game and REALLY PUSHED themselves. This game has my full support. For those of you who are gonna buy and support the game, see you February 17
As a monster hunter fan for the last 15+ years, the idea that this game isnt a "complex" as a monster hunter game is silly. Monster hunter is needlessly complex. Something a little simpler isnt bad
I’m gonna say that at this point of time it is fine to compare games to MH in this genre and say it is a good/bad alternative/replacement. I applause to people trying to raise awareness that we shouldn’t do this and the game deserve its recognition. But I respectfully disagree doing so using the tone that is putting the people who are comparing in an inferior moral position. What we should support is a transition of attitude not an immediate accusation thrown to the opposition in likes of “no you are doing this wrong”. That is against human nature. The reason people tend to treat a new game in this particular genre than that of for example a new FPS entry is because in this genre there used to be only MH, literally. I’ve been playing MH since MH Freedom and this “genre” so to speak has never had any competitions. It’s after MHW that this “genre” really gained international notoriety, and that was only five years ago. It takes time to develop a game so we are now literally looking at the first batch of games that are trying to enter this genre, of course people are going to look at this as a replacement or an alternative rather than co-existence because the phase of co-existence is still few years away, you need to have a thriving variety of products to have a competition, 1v1 when the opponent is already an established well-received title is not a competition, it’s naturally a comparison. Look at Thieve (or Hitman), only two years behind MGS but was considered a somewhat inferior alternative, then look at the first AC, 9y after MGS, 7y after Thieve, 6y after MGS2 and 3y after MGS3, was finally granted the co-existence status as a complete new entry to the genre as people finally stop comparing games in that genre to MGS-era grandfather titles, it takes roughly 7-9 years for a newly established genre to enter the so-called co-existence states. (Same could be said in the case of the first Splinter Cell to MGS) A more relatable example would be the smartphone, how Apple first introduced touchscreen and seemingly anything follows in the span of five years became another case of comparison to the original and subsequent iPhone. Of course now we don’t compare this anymore, at least not to the same degree, but it takes time for this transition to happen.
What's the PC performance like? Just wondering because I 100% will not buy a game at launch if it suffers from stuttering/hitching. I can deal with the fps being lower than other games that look just as good, but I can not stand constant stuttering, and it seems to be a problem with PC games on launch here recently. Love your content as always Force!
I had no issues whatsoever playing/streaming it on a 3080 w/ 16gb of ram. Seems like it should run fine if you have a reasonably decent PC. No stutters, no noticeable fps drops- though I wasn't playing with an FPS counter up.
@@ArborusVitae I have exactly the same specs haha and It was terrible. Things pop in right in front of you and it just feel poorly optimised. Further the devs even admitted that the performance is poor and that there is a CPU leak that they are trying to fix.
@@Duneadah Weird. It seems relatively smooth for me, I didn't notice any pop-in or anything and even after having it open for a few hours the performance still felt good to me. Maybe my standards are just low or something? 1080 smooth 60 seems very playable to me.
Just played the demo, but I'm not sure if the game needs a real patch because it doesn't run so well, and even the graphics breaks sometimes while moving the camera, buuuuuuut I'm loving it still
Love how when games exist and games were aspired by previous titles, comes the opinion of games replacing a franchise that was known for the genre it is today; what are titles *"amalgamating akin to the genre."*
@@landofowl3800 plus sunbreak will be coming out for PS5 in the near future. I haven't played it before. But this is tempting it looks pretty, it has 20 bosses from what the devs say 8 weapons . I bought Monster Hunter rise for 40 bucks and it has twice the content .
@omarsabeur9039 Yes I played both MH World and Rise and they are very well done polished games. Weapons could possibly be expanded upon and even if not, my main concern is endgame content which may be lacking.
“Replace” was a poor choice of words. I believe you mean live up to. Cause when it comes to monster hunter for dedicated hunters their is no replacing just moving from one to the other. They don’t stop playing old ones just cause new one comes along. Generation getting a remake on switch was big example. This would just be another game to add to the hunt gallery
I'm looking forward to it. I appreciate the video because it explained some minor concerns regarding armour, weapons, and monsters. Given it is a new IP, it is understandable that it won't have as much initial content as something like World. With that said, it still seems quite deep and it also seems there is enough content to get my money's worth without getting boring. One thing I'd like answered: it seems there is an auto-sheathe with the weapons. Is this correct? If so, can it be disabled?
Tapping run/sprint sheathes weapons, otherwise it stays unsheathed. Like monster hunter if you try to run with the weapon out, it'll do the sheathing animation, making you vulnerable to attack. So you need to choose between dodging with weapons drawn, or sheathing to start running.
Is the world living like Monster Hunter World, or barren like Monster Hunter Rise? Is there enough divercity woth weapons, gear, and skills? Edit: After trying it the answer is, not as living as world, but a lot more than Rise. A lot of weapon divercity, and you can easily build multiple weapons collecting passive abilities
I was never a massive mh fan but I liked the toukiden games a lot. I felt they catered for more casual play which I'm unbelievably casual and will never "get gud". But man this looks good and the building might be enough to sell me
It's a hunting game. You can craft any weapon you want. As long as you have the mats for them, you can make an odachi plus a hook blade and change whenever you want.
Is this game open world? Or is there only a certain amount of players allowed pure server? Was seeing something about a max of 3 players? Never played MH so was curious.
The successor of Toukiden, the building mechanics made the game more engaging and dynamic, which adds to the plethora of existing gameplay variety the game already offers. Love the mixed genres coming from AA titles other than they mostly cost least than 60$ regards the tolerable jankiness due to how comprehensive or complex they are.
Just enjoy the game people ! The game doesn’t have to be monster Hunter … it’s okay to be different. Monster Hunter is monster Hunter wild hearts is wild hearts … choose one or choose both and play .
I love dark souls, tried monster hunter but the combat and camera seems loose, controls seem convoluted. I wanted to like it but couldn't. Would you say combat is tighter here than in MH?
I'm having a ton of issues with the games graphics and stability on PC (I have a 2070 super) so I can run it just fine. I hope the game looks better on console because for this to be a 70 dollar game, it's not showing it.
So what I can tell is this game completely outclasses Monster Hunter and basically dethroned it as the go to monster hunting game. lol that's what Capcom gets for being complacent and not thinking they would every have any real competition.
just watched a team darkside video, monster animations are so rough they don't feel movements of a big heavy monster, combat seems very chaotic, compenetrations are there 99% of the time, something just doesn't feel right..
Why is nobody talking about the wall climbing looking worse than any game in history? I can't stop laughing every time I see someone slowly baby crawling up a wall lmao
What i'm interested in is how the keyboard and mouse gameplay? Monster Hunter Sunbreak had such bad keyboard and mouse keyboard, and yes I know it was 2nd team that made the game and not 1st team that made monster hunter world and iceborne.
I've put 5-6 hours into the demo on keyboard/mouse. It's pretty similar to MHW and MHR IMO. I had to swap some default keybinds, but it's not bad. The default binds definitely kind of suck for some stuff, but it's easy to adjust everything to get it feeling nice.
Force, does this game have a shared life count like Monster Hunter? Was wondering if I played with my younger children if I'd get punished for them sucking more than me.
I really like wild hearts I play the trial the combat was the best part but the snow was horrible and it was little buggy on Xbox series s hopefully it better on ps5 just hope they fix something’s for launch
I really glad that the gameplay turn out to be really good It's nice to see that MH now have a competition But even if the game inspired by MH, do they really have to matching the theme and aesthetic as well ?? Does it have to be Japanese theme, fighting big mammal, using katana, greatsword, etc. etc. ?? it's so boring!! Why not turn it into something different? Cthulhu theme, fighting cosmos horror and sea monsters Medieval time, fighting Griffins, Orges, Dragons... Heck, why not borrow some ideas from Horizon and go cyberpunk to fighting some robot dinosaurs
Im glad to hear it’s good. I’ve been waiting for it eagerly but didn’t want to get my hopes up given how many “monster Hunter-esque” games don’t really capture the monster Hunter feeling.
Competition is always good for gaming so in fine with a new mh clone so mh games can just step up their game and keep their crown while also making competitors give us also good games
How many different monsters are there in wild hearts? A lot of the other Monster Hunter replacements have way to few monsters at release, or otherwise they have many but the monsters are not unique in any way
There are three in first region in the demo and supposedly 5 regions. Not sure if they're keeping to 3 per region or what the further progression is like, but 15 is probably the absolute least I'd expect.

Anything outside of that 1 thing, people make a conscience effort to shit all over the product and go on smear campaigns and that’s exactly what I’m seeing with Wild Hearts. UA-camr has positive impressions and starts loving the game “it’s not monster hunter tho”
“I guess it’ll hold me over till monster hunter world 2”, “I bet the endgame is trash”, “20 monsters?
How many are on PC but will be playing with a controller !? I can't decide if I should play with a controller or a keyboard/mouse :D
Only a few days left can't wait
I knew is going to be good, is like the 4 game of this type they make, is a spiritual successor of Toukiden
(Same could be said in the case of the first Splinter Cell to MGS)
A more relatable example would be the smartphone, how Apple first introduced touchscreen and seemingly anything follows in the span of five years became another case of comparison to the original and subsequent iPhone. Of course now we don’t compare this anymore, at least not to the same degree, but it takes time for this transition to happen.
Is there layered armor avaible in the game?
What's the PC performance like? Just wondering because I 100% will not buy a game at launch if it suffers from stuttering/hitching. I can deal with the fps being lower than other games that look just as good, but I can not stand constant stuttering, and it seems to be a problem with PC games on launch here recently. Love your content as always Force!
The recommended gpu is a 2070 and the game really isn't that impressive visually. Based on that I would assume optimization won't be great at launch.
I tried the trial version with a good almost end game PC and the performance and graphics are kind of eh..
1080 smooth 60 seems very playable to me.
damn you Force, now i'm hyped
Great video games a bit pricey but will def get when on sale
Thank youuuu this made me even more excited
How's the menus and loadings and party setup and things? is it bad like MH? or did they actually do it well?
who is this keemstar?
14:55 This is why I don't play these games... You see an adorable, chunky rabbit boi with antlers, then brutally murder him...
Does Wild Hearts have in game voice chat? I might play with xbox players on my playstation
Downloaded the free trial through EAplay just now... can't wait to give it a go!
"Whoa you still exist!?"
My actual reaction when I saw this recommended
Haven't seen you since the early days of Overwatch 1
How've things been going?
Very cool looking game, that somehow manage to have extremely little hype considering peoples urge for Elden Ring, Monster Hunter and online RPGs
As someone who has never played monster hunter, should I buy this or just play monster hunter
Does it feel worth it's price? Seemed very steep
you can try it on ea play pro for a bit if you want
, 14.99 for 1 month
I'd like to know too. Especially with some other pretty good titles also releasing this month.
If could subscribe for EA Play Pro for a month for $15. I did it for Dead Space, so I will happy try it, before the month I subscribe run out.
How does your game looks so good and plays so good.. the performance was sooo bad when I tried playing and I have good end game PC.
I thought this was related to Vandal Hearts or Wild Arms, both old IPs from the PSX
I finally got to play it! I'm only a few minutes in but the fighting is like anime style! It's awesome
Early access?
@@jinkazama3439 it's a 10 hour trial on for EA members
honestly I'll choose wild hearts over MH because its less complicated when playing the trial
How does this game play on PC? Framrate steady?
The game has terrible performance issues. I strongly recommend waiting.
People who were worried about this game being bad obviously never played the developer's last game, TOUKIDEN 2.
I was never a massive mh fan but I liked the toukiden games a lot. I felt they catered for more casual play which I'm unbelievably casual and will never "get gud". But man this looks good and the building might be enough to sell me
Do you know if you can choose the bow first but then later on use the staff if you want? Can I use different weapons?
It's a hunting game. You can craft any weapon you want. As long as you have the mats for them, you can make an odachi plus a hook blade and change whenever you want.
@@kerlintrotim4359 ok awesome thanks for the info! I can't wait to get home from work lol
Is the deluxe edition a good buy or do u unlock the items later
Is this game open world? Or is there only a certain amount of players allowed pure server? Was seeing something about a max of 3 players? Never played MH so was curious.
Love the review, but if you skip every cutscene and don't care for the story, the review isnt very credible when reviewing a story game
Hey, how's the PC performance>/
The successor of Toukiden, the building mechanics made the game more engaging and dynamic, which adds to the plethora of existing gameplay variety the game already offers.
Love the mixed genres coming from AA titles other than they mostly cost least than 60$ regards the tolerable jankiness due to how comprehensive or complex they are.
Just enjoy the game people ! The game doesn’t have to be monster Hunter … it’s okay to be different. Monster Hunter is monster Hunter wild hearts is wild hearts … choose one or choose both and play .
I couldn't stand playing with this HUD. Feels like I should be grooming these creatures.
This game is literally Dauntless and Monster Hunter had a baby
Why is nobody talking about the wall climbing looking worse than any game in history? I can't stop laughing every time I see someone slowly baby crawling up a wall lmao
I really like what i see but I've heard bad things about the pc performance so i'm holding off for now
What i'm interested in is how the keyboard and mouse gameplay?
Monster Hunter Sunbreak had such bad keyboard and mouse keyboard, and yes I know it was 2nd team that made the game and not 1st team that made monster hunter world and iceborne.
I've put 5-6 hours into the demo on keyboard/mouse. It's pretty similar to MHW and MHR IMO. I had to swap some default keybinds, but it's not bad. The default binds definitely kind of suck for some stuff, but it's easy to adjust everything to get it feeling nice.
what im taking from this is MH and WH are now both the best monster hunting games and thats good as they noth have more rivarly
Can you lock on your targets?
Monster hunter is it's own "type" of game? Like a souls-borne or metroidvania?
24 minutes later
Me: Yeaaahhh Monster Hunter
Force, does this game have a shared life count like Monster Hunter? Was wondering if I played with my younger children if I'd get punished for them sucking more than me.
Do you have to play the game with others?
I really like wild hearts I play the trial the combat was the best part but the snow was horrible and it was little buggy on Xbox series s hopefully it better on ps5 just hope they fix something’s for launch
I really glad that the gameplay turn out to be really good
It's nice to see that MH now have a competition
But even if the game inspired by MH, do they really have to matching the theme and aesthetic as well ??
Does it have to be Japanese theme, fighting big mammal, using katana, greatsword, etc. etc. ?? it's so boring!!
Why not turn it into something different?
Cthulhu theme, fighting cosmos horror and sea monsters
Medieval time, fighting Griffins, Orges, Dragons...
Heck, why not borrow some ideas from Horizon and go cyberpunk to fighting some robot dinosaurs
I was on board until I saw no hunting horn
How does the co op work? Can anyone build what they want in co op mode?
this is pretty much the toukiden kiwami ive always wanted lol that game was great but this looks so good.
Is the combat floaty?
This looks amazing!
