Loved this video! I travelled to Cape Clear in the early 1980s, stayed in the hostel and fell in love with the place and the people. It hasn't changed all that much, judging from your video. I was supposed to go back to the mainland soon after to see a Van Morrison/Maddy Prior concert, but I didn't because I loved Cape Clear so much. There were three pubs at that time, one of which also served as the grocers. I usually went to the pub in the harbour, at that time run by an American named Frank, who had a pet pigeon. When I eventually left the island, Frank closed down the pub for the day because he thought it would be fun to ride the Ferry back to the mainland with me and do his shopping. One night I was lucky enough to go to a traditional music night at another of the pubs. Plus I got to go to a Ceilidh Mor, completely Irish speaking. Great storytelling and dancing. The hostel keeper at the time had a flock of goats and made delicious goat cream cheese. I remember practicing Irish dancing with his little girls. What can I say except thank you to Cape Clear for all the amazing memories. I'm a senior now but still an adventurer and your video made me want to go back!
I subscribed and gave your video a like. Primarily because I like your style. 👍 Cape Clear is on my list of places to spend the night on my 2022 trip to Ireland. Safe travels.

The last time I was there, the only cars people drove were Volkswagen Beetle, very cool indeed.

That’s my kinda place. Quiet peaceful with friendly locals. I’m not a big fan of little boats so can’t see me going there😂 Safe travels👍
