Welcome back for another fun Summer decorating video! Today I will share a few thrifted and new decor finds. As I mentioned in my last video, I will also be sharing how I decorated the entry area in the living room as well as the seating areas in the doorway and kitchen. I hope you find this video relaxing and inspirational.

It’s amazing to see the transformation of the house from the beginning to now, it’s just beautiful. Your taste in furniture and decor makes it look luxurious but still very comfortable.
Do you get all your swans from flea markets and 2 nd hand ? I started using them as well and I can not find them anywhere reasonable priced ! I was wondering if you have any recommendations? I live in Indiana
Hello! @tinasilvers9 I did find them over the years at thrift stores and antique malls. There are a lot of new ones online, if you do a google search. Amazon has them, also. I see them pop up on Facebook Marketplace, too. In fact, one exactly like the one I have on my mantle popped up locally on FBMP, but sold quickly. I think it was $30. I paid around $12 for mine, but had to repair it and then I painted it. I hope you find some you love! Go to a huge antique mall and search all the vendor booths. Sometimes they will be tucked under, inside or behind other items. The hunt is the fun part. 😉🦢🦢🦢 Xoxoxo

I know right? I think we all wanted to forget the way it used to look. 😆😂 It is still a work in progress, but that's ok! I am just grateful to have a peaceful environment to enjoy, even with all the lizards and frogs invading us. Lol. Xoxoxo

I won’t even entertain fall decor until the end of September! Summer is just too darn short in Upstate New York so I am hanging on to summer as long as I can!! I also agree with you about the crazy pricing at thrift stores now! Just plain greed on items that were donated and didn’t cost them a darn thing!
...It is discouraging in regards to the " Thrift Store " prices ... And a lot of this is due to UA-cam Creators.- and not this one - but I have noticed that there are UA-cam Creators who are Sharing/ showing all these " ThriftcStore Hauls " and touting certain prices,they got at Thrift Stores and then they're looking up these items online and telling you how much it's actually worth, etc. Why would anyone do this ??? ... that is not helpful. Because now the Thrift Store s are charging exorbitant prices. And I believe it has a lot to do with that.... Because that was never an issue before..... ; And I have even pointed out to some of these Creators that they need to stop doing that because they're ruining the Thrift Store shopping experience for everyone and I've also I called Goodwill corporate and told them that their prices are gone ridiculous and I refuse to shop there, I think if enough people do that.They're going to have to address the ridiculous pricing situation. Just my thoughts on this Subject.
You know, if you got a great deal at at the Thrift Store ....Keep that to yourself or just share it with really close friends in a setting where they're not going to be braggin about what you got.... that ruins it , absolutely ruins it and that's going to create issues with pricing.
It is the opposite here in NW Florida! We have eternal sweltering summers and by July I am dreaming of cooler weather and pumpkins!
@@texasstardust6010I agree. I’ve never understood why anyone share prices on social media. I think they run out of content so sharing pricing and shopping fills in the gap. I believe on top of Covid making prices sky high, the influencers have added to it. I support these women being able to make a living for their family and stay home with their children. I support home schooling 100%. However, it has not helped our economy. I’m 67 and I have stopped shopping for home decor. I have enough collected stuff that I just revamp and rearrange what I have. Olivia of Olivia’s Romantic Home really shows that on her channel.

I just find it disheartening that the thrifting process has been.,is basically being ruined by all these UA-cam Creators.Who think they need to you know brag on all the stuff they got and this is what it's worth and it's ruining it for everyone and that's why the prices have gone ridiculously high. ..well, let's justcsay it is a contributing factor, no question.

I had a cat named Cassy Mae who taught everyone of my other cat's to drink water just like your Cass. I absolutely love decorating with sea shells. Your living room and eating area are gorgeous. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Give Cass a pet or two for me 🤗💓💕💞

the pillows on the bar stools in the kitchen area the perfect touch and absolutely beautiful. my sister had a cat once that would only drink out of a glass next to the kitchen sink. all of your shells are so pretty scattered around and a wonderful touch.

You have the cutest cats. I thought I had the only strange cats in the world, but now you share that phenomenon.
😆 I love that cats have such unique personalities. Maxine went to kitty heaven on December 15th of 2023. 💔 We are considering getting another kitty at some point, but we have too much going on right now, so we might wait until the house projects are completed. Unless the kitten distribution system brings one to us unexpectedly. 😆 Cas is lonely, but he is enjoying being King of the Castle finally. 💙

Your home is stunning. You are an amazing artist. So many homes decorate with the 'trends." They are so cookie-cutter to me. I love your style. It's elegant, yet warm and inviting. I'm with you on the summer/fall decorating. I love Summer and I cling to every minute. I can't even think about Fall until Oct. ( I'm in TN) I won't visit channels that are already starting fall decorating. I'm glad Cass got his "spot" back. I have a couple of spots I decorate around for our little Yorkie, OB. Afterall, they're precious members of the family.

Your home looks absolutely beautiful and very summery and you had to be a real master at painting to make that faux brick wall, love it! That sweet cat is so funny drinking only out of a vase with a plant in it then putting his paw in and licking his paw, I laughed at that. We used to have a cat that liked to drink out of the faucet more than a water bowl. I always look forward to your videos and your soft and soothing voice.

His includes starting to wake me up at 3-4am until I get up to let him go outside and potty then coming back in to get treats. He rarely uses the litter pan anymore. Hope you have a beautiful Sunday! Deborah. I love all of your vignettes that you’ve put together in your home. The before and after is amazing! The brick wall diy in your breakfast nook is absolutely stunning! I love your new home. I can’t believe it’s been three years. I’ve watched you for much longer. The front porch and screened in back porch is so perfect to have in a house. Your property looks so beautiful. I love the critters. However, I don’t like it when they decide to make my home theirs. We have had squirrels living in our attic for years. I’ve learned where they come in and out but I cannot yet plug it because I fear there are young that will then starve and die inside if the parents who are out scavenging for their food have no way back to them. It’s $300.00 fee to have someone come out just to set a trap and no guarantee of catching the critters. Therefore, I’ve just left it alone for now. I guess until there’s a horrible smell that I can live with them.
Have a fabulous August everyone. I’m going on vacation to NE Alabama, SE Georgia, and Ft Walden Beach FL soon and I can’t wait. I will look for seashells while walking along the beach and think of you Deborah.

I have a soft spot for critters, too. Maybe you could put up a little "house" near where they are going in your attic so they'll use that as a nest and then close up the access point?

@@thepaintedsouth I found a beautiful old piece in an antique mall a while back - it was $75 & I couldn’t believe it was there - very hard to ever find any, even here in Florida, as it is mostly illegal to harvest - I treasure the ones I have - and yes, have to keep our little fur babies happy ! 🥰

They really do! He makes us laugh all the time. His new thing is going outside and then coming back in because he gets a treat if he listens and comes in when we call him. Now, he'll just go out and immediately be back to the door to come in. 😆 little stinker!

I get bored really quickly with things and arrangements. I guess we just need to embrace our tendencies and enjoy the process of change and refinement. 😬 I am listing some stuff on Marketplace today so I can rationalize getting other pieces I like better. So fun to tune in early this Monday morning to your sweet face! I love all your vignettes, your so good at that. The symmetry of your bookcase is just gorgeous. Cats are so funny and so interesting too. I cracked up about yours wanting the water with a plant in it. I don't have cats anymore, but we had one that always used her paw to drink water as well.
