I just love that she's able to state her dislikes and genuine opinions freely. It should be a given to think she could but coming from the kpop fandom this is a breath of fresh air
Well Suisei has quite the refined taste in animation, i relate to her though, i am also an animation nerd. Was really into disney movies when i was a kid, then cartoons then anime, i even work on my own stuff now.
@@134679007 it's about family, it's funny, but the story might be confusing at first but you'll get it after some time, some people say that it's touching. Plus, the soundtrack is amazing, made by Go Shiina i believe (the same people behind Demon Slayer's soundtrack?)
Uoooh, her talking about her favorite studios and anime got me excited. Look at what I've been missing out on coz I don't understand Japanese lol. Glad that her favorite is KyoAni, I love KyoAni too, tho I haven't kept up with anime these past few years coz I fell in love with reading fan translated light novels and web novels. Then I fell in the rabbit hole... Lol Thank you for the translation!👍
Dont worry Kyoani didn't produce anime series ever since the attack, their first release in a long while is on July the 2nd season of Kobayashi Maid Dragon.
Lol @ Sarazanmai still being mistaken as a “MAPPA anime” because of marketing shenanigans. (The truth is that the main production was almost entirely handled by Ikuhara’s own studio, Lapin Track. MAPPA only provided some clean-up (第二原画) in one episode.)
Just to be clear, I think she was commenting on the animation/art side of the anime since she did say she read the manga and I assume that means she liked it.
woahh!! good to know that sui-chan also consider KyoAni the best animation studio as well as she likes Zankyou no Terror, seriously that anime is amazing if u havent watched it yet, listen her and go watch it. Also, it amazed me on how much her opinions about the animes and the studios are similar with mine lol. (unless the one about Guilty Crown :p) On a side note, I'm always looking forward for yours videos cuz i know they will be high quality!! Great Work!!
Oh, those are some quality favorites. Dennou-coil rules, Doremi is a foundational show and Kyousougiga is literally perfect. Subtle fluidity of motion is also more important to me than the ufotable bombast. Glad she checked out Wonder Egg too, it's a wonderful show, but unfortunately anime producers are the worst. The schedule broke the backs of the animators. Glad it is getting a proper, timely resolution in June. Thanks for the clip, absolutely will subscribe.
Ufotable is my favorite studio but it's true that they kinda have lesser fluidity when compared to clover works and(on some) mappa. Terror in Resonance is a national treasure, great story, great music, great atmosphere, great VAs and great cinematography (at least at the time of its release).
Hey thanks for the TL clip~ Sui-chan's quite the refined taste. As expected from the comet we all love and adore. Quite even the cultured one too with her opinions and explain why Speaking of Penguindrum... she's about to do an NND watch along series on May 5, how times fly and change huh ww
If she wants a fun fact bones was started by the main animators that worked on cowboy bebop and you could tell with the bebop movie that when they have a budget they don’t fuck around!! God damn that movie was gorgeous!!
When she said Ufotable had stiff movement animation. I felt that. I feel so happy to be validated, all my friends simp over ufotable animation like the second coming of Matsuri. The characters don't move that much at all honestly the camera does most of the work and it tricks the viewer into thinking it's way more epic than it actually is.
I completely agree. Honestly I prefer the more classic style of Studio Deen's Carnival Phantasm over UBW or Heaven's Feel. Ufotable is a good studio, but everyone hypes it too much imo. Their characters are sometimes pretty weird in how they are drawn and the animation feels clunky
Are there other clips of Holomems talking about anime in depth? So far I've only seen some from Suisei and Marine. I know there are some pretty huge otaku among them so there has to be more clips I've not seen
They are probably out there - Fubuki, Okayu, and Polka are apparently also quite into anime. Okayu really loves Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer for example and Fubuki nerds out with Marine every week on their radio show (Sukondawa radio - there are translated clips if you google it). Fubuki and Marine called Polka an otaku comrade so she's probably into it as well.
I 100% agree with suisei point on ufotable and allow me to explain. For example we shall use the fate grand order anime done by clover works and the heavens feel movie done by ufo. Now in terms of looks wise heavens feel blows grand order out of the water but that’s because of all the 3D effects who adds in. But in terms of the fluidity of the animation grand order surpasses heavens feel. In the battle between salter and Medusa the movements were pretty stiff, Medusa half of the time looked like she’s was just gracefully falling. Compare that to say mash and Ana vs Gil the fight was more fast pace, they were constantly moving and The motions were fluid. Didn’t really describe the grand order fight well but if you compare the to fights back to back you can see the difference in movement. To summarize ufotable uses 3D effects like particles effects and camera to create good looking animation while other studios will use fluid motion.
The way I had this explained to me is the other studios that were mentioned tend to use "key frames" more and rely less on "in-betweening" or "tweening" for their motion and the result appears to be smoother/more fluid.
Ufotable's main strength is in their post processing and special effects. That's what gets you the pretty colours and flashy effects. The fluidity of motion in their works can be mostly attributed to their use of 3d modelling and rotoscoping to create cool and creative camera angles, however as a result movement can feel quite artificial. It's entirely subjective however, but many people including myself share suisei's opinion.
I take pride in my anime knowledge when talking to my friends. But now I realized, I’m just a small pond in a fish
Oh how the turn tables
Wut? You weren't aware of the most of the anime on there? Shame shame.
How the turn have table
Hol up, Sui-Chan’s got some refined taste.
Also she called KyoAni the best. I can die happy now
Heck yeah! KyoAni is the best by far in my book too!
she's an animator afterall so of course she's got a refined taste
Refined Taste. Another reason she's up there.
KyoAni also has one of the better working conditions out there.
@@theadultdemon she's an animator? I had no idea
Yeah, she knows her stuff. KyoAni doesn't just make good animation, they make iconic animation.
Still makes me mad what happened to them
Damn she's cultured 🍵👌

The perfect woman does exist
She's more cultured than most of the west weebsphere. Sasuga idol.
Well she is japanese so its not surprising
Keep promoting the studios Sui-chan and you might appear in their series for random cameos.
yeah, it happened to Pekora in How NOT to summon a Demon Lord!, so who knows?

Rip Studio Shaft and The Monogatari Series. They were not noticed.
even Madhouse...it's kinda sad that they were not mentioned.

She's a big otaku. Just talked about anime nonstop in two recent streams and did a Mawaru Penguindrum watchalong that almost lasted 11 hours.
No Shaft mention... my heart
Terror in resonance sounds good
It is quite good! You should give it a watch if your time isn't completely taken up by watching VTubers (I know mine is).
it will worth your time, listen her and go watch it, the anime is great!!
Meanwhile there's just that one guy in the background that keeps shouting "BAKEMONOGATARI" lol

Lol...I was expecting Madhouse to be mentioned since it also has great animation when it comes to action scenes like Bones.
I thought knowing the VAs was already amazing but now I know that knowing the animation studios is superior
Suisei: "I dont think bleach was that special"
