"One bad apple can spoil the whole barrel" certainly applies here! Unfortunately, negativity can be more powerful than positivity if we let it. You're right, Doc, if you think your "lousy" day through, it's more positive than it seems! Don't give negativity any (false) power!👍💯🤔

"We won't call her a 'Karen' (wink, wink)."

Folks like that, I get very quiet and let them vent. I then restate a policy. Then, after their rant I might say, "Now what did that get you?"

Love that approach! I must say, my staff handled the situation very well - I couldn’t be prouder of them!

Once had a Karen keep me on the phone way past my shift. She was horrid. As I walked to my car, I wished the most horrible things on her, then realized I was wrong. Told God I know I should pray, but he needs to give me the words. I realized half way home, I was praying for her family! God was going to handle "Karen" but made me realize her family endures her all day! God is wise and actually has a sense of humor! 🙏🤣

I completely agree with your point, however, there is no need to specify middle aged and blonde. Let it go, as I am sure you will.

A poor attempt at humor, perhaps. That’s actually the verbatim “Urban Dictionary” definition of “a Karen” - a term I didn’t want to use. I have nothing but love for all the wonderful blonde, middle-aged ladies out there (albeit, not as much for this particular human). 😉
