This was very helpful for me as someone who's starting to collect pops. I want that Tupac holy grail
Just started collecting and this video is everything!!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips with a newbie😉
Great tips! My biggest tip for someone getting started is think before you buy. Unless you want to spend a lot of time trading and reselling the excess Pops you don't REALLY want. I have learned you need to figure out what you want to collect certain lines, certain types of Pops (all Harleys etc), but its not a good idea to just buy every one you like at first or buy extra ones to get the discount at stores that have multiple Pop discounts, bc then you once you have a larger collection you have to try to find a place for them or get rid of them which can sometimes be awesome and others a hassle. Also one time I ordered a common Pop off Amazon I needed it came from a dealer and they sent me a CHASE version of that figure I was so pumped it was my first one. I like you mention comic book stores that is were I get a lot of my Pops for example they have pre-ordered all the Darkwing Duck Pops for me including the Negaduck PX Exclusives/Specialty shop release.
+Shelby Y Really good advice. I've felt the frustration of being stuck with extra figures before, especially when I tried to surprise friends, only to find out they already have them. Now, I check with friends while I'm in the store...
I only have one pop right now but i want to get some more, some favortie characters and one to customize perhaps
Great video! Very insightful. I've been collecting since the beginning of the year, I'm up to 130 pops in my collection, and I'm still learning! Keep up the great work. Also want to give a big thumbs up to your Funko news videos. Happy hunting!
Great video, as usual. Very good comments regarding having a longer-term perspective and taking efforts to keep Pops! and their boxes in good shape--no matter if you show case in or out-of-box. Well organized presentation. Enjoyed the effort.
I want to get into pop collecting but don't know how to go about it, this video really helped!
Hi, this video is great. I've just started collecting and I can say that it is definitely addictive.
I live in Brazil and it is difficult to get them and they turn out very expensive to import, I have extra costs with shipping and taxes, so my collection will grow slowly.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
nice video. I started about 6 or 7 months ago hard core and wow it's a learning process. Pop collecting is one of those things that can get out of hand so quickly. Its funny pop hunting with my family has made it so more more enjoyable. My wife is such a box and paint job snob. it's kinda cute. she looks at a pop.box and the paint job like she is buying a new car. Every damn time. lol
+bambambambamsam X I think it's so cool when people have friends and/or family to hunt with. None of my family or friends are really into it, so most of my hunts are solo. Hoping I get to hunt with a fellow UA-camr in the future...
Had my autoplay on while i was cleaning/listening and this video came up (definitely not a new collector haha). In keeping with the "go off the beaten path" mentality, a tip i recently came across unexpectedly is check thrift stores. I stumbled upon some pops while not even looking for them in one shop, and then when i knew it was an option, I noticed the Salvation Army actually had a glass case with some that were a little bit older and hard to find. Thats all i got for now✌️
The pop price guide was very helpful! Thank you!
This is really helpful to me as a new collector! A lot of the info I needed to know was here in the video, some of which I learned on my own, but mainly new information! Thank You so much ⚡️👍🏼
You're welcome
This video is very helpful! Thanks so much for posting!!! I am definitely addicted already!!
Very good points, and honestly I "might" stop collecting POP! Vinyls. I'm over 700+ now and my "craziness" has deemed a little bit, but I "might" stop at 1000 or somewhere around their, I'll decide in the future
I've sold some and traded some, because I'm trying to keep my total down. I don't want to get to the point that I have Pops stacked in front of each other and can't see part of my collection...
Franklyn FM McInnis I faced that problem when I had 300+, but I can see it as a problem, I'll just get ones I like/ to customize and the exclusives
I'm new to this funko craze but I started buying them because I want to display my key comics with the funko character. For example, I have New Mutants 87 & 98 and I want to display my comic with a figure and/ or statue. As we know statues can be really expensive and I figured funko's would be the way to go unless I find a statue at a good price. But all in all I think funko's are pretty neat and they present well, so that's my reason. I only have 5 right now but its because I have key and/ or a favorite cover for each funko that I have purchased.
I think that's a pretty cool idea. I used to own the Mercs For Money Pops and I had them displayed with a comic featuring them all on the cover...
This was really cool of you to put together. Wish it was around when I first got into pops. I like how you used Frozen pops for commons as they certainly are that haha.
+Matthew Movies LOL. That was very intentional...
I definitely thought that was likely the case.
Thank you for this wonderful video! I'm new to the Funko Pop sensation and tips you gave have been very helpful. Wish me luck in this Funko Pop collectible journey! And also, Happy Belated Birthday!
+toohumble1 Thank you. Best of luck :-)
Lots of great info from beginners. :) I could've saved a lot had this video came out when I first started collecting. Thanks FM! :)
One of the best tutorial video's for new Funko pop collectors. PPG (or even Funko) should ask permission to post this video on their site
Thank you. That's very kind of you to say...
I’m barely going to get started collecting funko pops and this video is very informative thanks so much! I really love dbz and naruto I think I’m going to start there but I’m not really sure what sets to start at :) hopefully I figure it out soon
I just started to collect funko pops after seeing Stephen kings it pop figures and know I’m interested and sense my room is small I’m running out of room to put them
This was a wonderful video. I really enjoy ordering from Entertainment Earth because they are extremely good with packaging.
+The Lawn Gnome Thank you for watching...
Awesome video I wish I had it when I first started thanks for being you
Very new to collecting almost lost out on a $20 chase joker kisses sine i didn’t know it was rare
This is the video I needed to see. I'm new to all of this. And watched a few of your videos today. Great job on explaining everything. The last point you made about pops being possibly an addiction is so true. I been buying alot the last few weeks and I have been telling myself to slow down. Especially on eBay. Now those haven't been too bad for me. But seriously I thought I could have it all but you are right. It just doesn't work like that. As for me right now, I'm mostly interested in DC comics pops either in the television or heroes line. Although I have made a few exceptions. Anyways look to future videos from you.
+Daniel Curiel Glad you found this helpful. I'm pretty big on DC too...
good stuff. ive been collecting for 2 years could've used this back at the beginning. lol
+George Luevano LOL. Hopefully there was a little something useful in there for you...
great tips on collecting pops you can definitely loose yourself. it's an addiction that's not going away for a long time. I know. lol Ms.Toy Diva
Thanks for making this video it was very informative and helpful for me
Nice video, i am new to pop collection, but i dont know where to start? Personally i want like marvel character and star wars characters, should I finish one type first? Or should I buy what i like first? Even if they arent the same line. Also, should i buy pop with higher value first? Common are required to finish the collection but should i look for those that are harder to find first?
+JohnLiuFromHK Star Wars and Marvel are broad categories. It's impossible to get them all. Focus on what you like whether it's common or not. Do make sure that you get new exclusives as they release though, because sometimes they sell out and aren't reproduced...
Thanks I'm new to collecting
Specialty series can be on amazon.com
What newsletters do you recommend subscribing to? Are there any E-bay dealers you could recommend?
Great Video, well presented!
I'm knew and recently found one of the firsts superman in the old box and everything
Wow wish I hads this when I started collecting this is awesome
+Sherry Stover Thanks :-)
New to Pop. Thank you for the video.
This video has helped me so much thanks
When I started into Funko I was just (and still) looking for just Disney Villains. Then I knew most where vaulted but my comic book store had them. So I managed to get them all. Then it has been just a matter of knowing what's coming out.
BTW, Chenango got on eBay right before he went up in price.
The only Disney Villain I'm missing is Captain Hook.
I live in Spain and sometimes my store has figures that are vaulted or manage to get exclusives (like Queen of Hearts and Maleficent from Hot Topic... though this last one has sold out).
So if anyone knows how can I find Captain Hook let me know. I could even help out by looking into my comic store to see if there's one you're interested in.
Thanks.
Is there anything I can do about the fact that I threw away a lot of Funko pop boxes because I started collecting when I was very young so is there a chance to get boxes for pops back
Funko is very addictive🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Hey Dude keep up the great video's Thanks
Thank you man needed this!
Another positive with online is that you can buy funko pops that you can't seem to find in store. (For example I'm trying to buy a D.Va pop but I can't find them in store AT ALL.)
Edit: Another thing I'll add is I personally am an OOB collector but what I do is I don't keep boxes for commons, just waaay too much hassle with how I keep my collection. But if it's a rare pop or one that I personally find value in, I keep the box and display the figure in front of the box. My display is here in case you wanna know what I mean. (The sides of the shelves will eventually only be pops, but for now it's like that.): imgur.com/a/P5Abe
I need the Biggie Grail...
Thanks for the great information
+J P You're welcome
Pop in a box sells pops for $9:99 and a buy two for $18:99 also if the figure has a chase it's a 1/6 chance of getting the chase
Dee Bros They have some poor business practices though, so beware...
Do you think that the sdcc megazord will be sold in a store?
+LoopyLucio Tv I thought there was something suspicious about it being called a SDCC Pop and it seems that may be incorrect. Some are saying it's a PX Previews Exclusive, which means, if it's true, it will be in some stores. I'll update once I know more...
thanks for the video!
+chris wood You're welcome
Oh btw for your next funko news there is new wwe funko pops coming out I don't know when but on wrestlingdaze UA-cam channel he showed images of the new wwe funko pops and oh boy I am I excited because I love the wwe. Chris Jericho, million dollar man ted dibiase, the boss Sasha banks, and the iron sheik (two chase figures are million dollar man in his white outfit and iron sheik with red headdress. Also there will be a Walgreens exclusive of Enzo and big cass two packs and a bailey Toys"R"Us wwe exclusive. Your prob got the word already and normally do your videos on the weekend, I literally just bought my last set end of April and funko is killing me with these releases
+MATTHEW ALEXANDER Yeah, I saw them. I'm highly impressed. May have to get the Million Dollar Man...
Franklyn FM McInnis I don't do the chase figures but million dollar mans outfit he did wear so that maybe a maybe, but I am afraid that funko will come of with Enzo and cass as separate numbers like they did with new day. That irritated me because of thought process lol
thanks for the info
+Gary Walters You're welcome
What if you a very young collector and you trying to get in the business of Funko Pops?
Don't look at it like business. Just collect what you like and have fun with it.
awesome video!
+Cali Pops Thanks

I once saw a sebastian black butler and didnt get it and now i cant find it.
Just saw him listed on the Mercari app for $19
I don't really care about the box as a new collector for two reasons. the first is that I am just collecting a couple to display in front of the dvds of shows they are from. and the second is because of poor stinky Pete from Toy Story 2 played by Kelsey Grammer. no one ever played with that toy and he turned sour and ripped woody's arm with his plastic pick-axe.
I've subed
i live 10 mins away from forbidden planet
I’ve been collecting for about 6 months and I’ve have never seen a chase pop in a retail store I’m starting to think all the employees take them for themselves and don’t even put them on shelves
I collect other stuff, so most of this I either found out on my own or learned from other collecting experience. And don't buy anything from China
Loved the video Nathan's for the great advise and time u took to help the new hunters you got a sub check us out over at figlife Miami u rock new fan in Miami brother peace
