Thinking about doing just that and comparing them. I also tried to reverse engineer the warming hue so it would look like a standard mist/diffusion filter but couldn't get it to look just right, I assume there's a color shift as well as warming going on.
Our crew over in the midwest did a whole spec shoot with this filter last year. (ua-cam.com/video/Wk0B9Fsvb8I/v-deo.html) It definitely provides a pleasing old school feel to the footage but to me at least, it's a fun filter that needs the right production to make the most of it.
I didnt see much benefit, there are limitations to what a filter can deliver. I would recommend a old Nikkor manual focus lens for a truly nostalgic look.
I believe that if you already have a generic mist filter stack with a VND filter, they should give you the same effects (mist = glow, VND = warmth)

❤❤❤ love the look of the filter! And the dog! And you 😘
Do you have to manually change white balance or use AWB
Good question! I leave mine at 5600k, otherwise if you shoot with AWB it would try to correct the tint on the filter.
