I've been studying internal martial arts for some years now, and seeing this kind of content is really fascinating. The theory dictates that internal and external are 2 paths to the same destination. You either start by fighting, and then refining (external way), or you start by learning body mechanics, and then applying them to fighting (internal way). But, in real life, we almost never see good internal principles. These arts are often lost in their own legacy... The videos you provide with these masters, though... All of their advices are about fine body mechanics, exactly what you learn from proper internal arts. They are elite fighters, it's very rare to see that level of refinement. You're doing an amazing work for Muay Thai, and martial arts in general. Thank you for your dedication, Sylvie!
It's very similar in the long run. You can also develop everything together. Or, as you described. Some do better with one way or the other. I started off with Kung Fu and Kenpo as a child. Then I went to strictly "internal" styles for many years. Now I train Muay Boran, Aikido and Tai Chi chuan. Each has something to offer, though I also find that each "style" in some ways also teaches a lot of the same principles, in the long run. Unfortunately, most styles do not cross train enough in the different approaches. for example, Most internal styles today do not pressure test or even really spar. So it is good to cross-train in something like Muay Thai or MMA for that experience, if your school does not include it. But, you have to learn how to use the internal principles with the sparring and such. Don't just practice different styles, make them one.
@@theoutlander2873 Just curious, what style and lineage of Tai Chi? I am practicing Yang Style from the Li Zi Yi lineage and it is very similar in Sagat's Thai boxing style. Many techniques are easily assimilated and explained with taiji. Too bad there is no real impressive fighter in internal martial arts nowadays, that's why so many people are spitting on it.
Thankfully I've learned this torso thrust to wip your punches out. And long guard as a way of escape, so its easier to get this for me by a bit at least lololol thank for your work , your the best!
As soon as I see my notification that says Joe Rogan MMA show Sylvie Von duuglas-ittu I am going to do the most amazing happy dance I may even put it on UA-cam 😂😄😋🤞

Did you say 'It's terrifying'? at about 2:54m ? Made me laugh anyway, just your expression. Get the impression Sagat is hugely friendly yet also still hugely intimidating when he moves!
His spoken English is pretty good, he spent time as a trainer in Australia at some point. His ability to read English is limited. In this session in the Library I provide two versions. My English commentary, and a commentary-less version where you can hear him speak clearly.
The older he gets the more he looks like the sf character get him an eye patch.
Somewhere there are two real adopted brother's named Ken and Ryu that are watching this video while quaking in their boots

Did you do it?
Good now you can go on with your day.
Those aren't calves.
Those are bulls that lead the herd.
he must of kept training even when not fighting what a legend
Fotwoork my brother
Thats from years of being on the balls of his feet when throwing kicks.
Sagat always possessed slick-ass hands of a slugger! Something very unusual for a traditional Thai fighter. 💯👑
Sagat is my favorite teacher
I'm a 155lbs guy and i wish i had arms like sylvie
You're not alone man

Love your excellent commentary and highlighting his technique while keeping it light and fun!
oof, I liked this bit. you can just feel the power he generates. guess I'll have to watch the full video then.
Twisting of the hips adds lot of power. Incorporate yoga into your regimen to create mobility

Yes it definitely is and you are sooooo honored to see him

Wow I wish you could capture him doing the legendary tiger uppercut.
Thanks for sharing, this is very valuable stuff here :)
Reminds me of the Skull and Crossbone from 52 blocks
Look at his rear heal while he the punches, the torque is massively impressive, imagine him throwing that short left with venom.
Boom.
As soon as I see my notification that says Joe Rogan MMA show Sylvie Von duuglas-ittu I am going to do the most amazing happy dance I may even put it on UA-cam 😂😄😋🤞

How much is it to train at the gym for 1 month?
This gym doesn't exist anymore. Sagat takes private sessions only, in Bangkok or Ayutthaya.
Double your rent. Nah idk.
Master, I want to learn the Tiger Cannon.
13 Coins. First gym I trained in. RIP, Mr. Coke.
"You are not a warrior. You are a beginner!"
Your a warrior pal..... keyboard warrior! 🛎
@@matthewparker5597 you are stupid
How much is a private with him if I may ask?
Where was this
And what did he mean by “Tiger” ? Is it about continuous hooks or long arm protection?
It comes from the video game character named after him in Street Fighter. All his moves are "tiger"
How did you get those scars?
A Muay Thai legend teaching a cute, kick-ass girl awesome tricks and tips is always good in my books. 💪👍
Wow 7 mins of this video is not enough

"maximum power at maximum efficacy", how good is that? Now I have to search UA-cam for those knockouts
Why do fighters not use uppercut body Blows? It is pretty rare to watch it at high-level

I did, and he is. Like being in with a tiger.
@@8limbsUs Hes like a giant, thick tree that moves with the power of a tempest..
Tiger uppercut
she punches hard AF
I thought he won his first fight against Peter Cunningham.
Master Sagat has ninja turtle calves.
Ossss!
Does sagat have pretty good English? It's hard to hear here, but it sounds like your predominantly talking in English with him here?

Yes I can confirm he can,as I have trained with him whilst he lived here in Sydney.
I wonder if he knows he's a street fighter character.
🐻 👍👍👍💯💯💯👏👏👏
Those all cut scars from muy th?ai
Who is this guy?
😲
Instafamous.
Sagat used like a western boxing stance and style most of what he is teaching here is western boxing movements
You are way too cute 😉
