Checking out Pearl Jam's No Code & Yield. These are Pearl Jam's 4th and 5th studio albums. Maybe not as popular as their early work but should most definitely not be overlooked. In this video i look at both of these albums track by track for a detailed review.

No code is probably my favorite. It’s kind of a comfort album for me. Yield is solid as well. These albums really opened up their musical palette for future albums, especially on Binaural and Gagaton, which feel like spiritual follow ups

I saw the vitalogy tour. Amazing show. Especially for the Aussie audience, they played "I Got You" by Split Enz. Pretty nice touch by PJ. The crowd went nuts

I never got into Pearl Jam except for 2 or 3 songs...
I can't say why, especially since I actually love Grunge.
I should give the band an other listen.

I wish they would have released i got Id on no code, it wouldn’t be so obscure then… it’s my fave pearl jam song i had that merkin ball it was a parody to Neil young’s album mirrorball and recorded in those sessions Neil young’s band was the ones that played with Eddie Vedder on the other song on merkin ball the long road birth i got Id and the long road had some radio play

Hmmm, those two records kind of help me depart PJ. More Vedder writing equaled softness... Yield was much softer. I do occasionally listen to them once in a while.

'No Code' is a really good album imo - really intimate & experimental - but imo 'Yield' is solid but kinda dry & boring

YIELD was the last great PJ album. Stone & Mike were allowed to be the rock guitarists that they are.
