I am using UniBios but my issue is with the game itself, button config can be changed in the "Set pad" option, but this restarts to default upon resetting game. In KoF98 the button config is saved after experiencing a Game Over, but it isn't with 96. That menu you mention is for enabling cheats or patching memory addresses
@@LongnPlay nah man. Tried that, still no luck. Seems like KoF96 is just programmed this way. All settings are reset to default after game over. Thanks anyway

Playing in AES mode too, but it doesn't remember the options I set, I'm particularly annoyed by the control settings. Mind sharing some light on this?
if you are using a Unibios just hold Start + Coin when starting the game to access the bios menu and change the settings.

try deleting the configuration file inside the emulator folder.
then configure again
