I think it is cool that so many people have access to music and to make music currently. But the downside of that is a lot of subpar garbage gets made and having to sift through all of it can be a bit much.

I think you hit the nail on the head that music has become stagnant. I think that pretty much sums up modern entertainment in general. Movies, music, and video games, it all feels stagnant. Most new movies are either trying to remake classics or continue 40 year old franchises with uneccesary sequels. Video games are the same way. I think streaming and short form content has been detrimental. Streaming services have a need to produce constant content at the cost of quality. That is how you go from 7.2 hours of great MCU in 2019 and 36 hours of fairly bland MCU in 2021. I can't remember where I watched it, but someone said most major labels are trying to create musical hooks for Tik Tok as opposed to conceiving a full and complete song/album. I don't know if that is legitimately the case, though. Another issue I feel is how easy music has become to make with digital instruments. Very few mainstream songs now even seem to have any live instruments. I think people pick up on the pristine quality of them. They are missing the small defects/variances that give real analog instruments their charm. Everything just seems so samey and lifeless.

I think Bad Omens is another great newer band. Motionless in White and Ice Nine Kills have been around for a while but have hit a great stride of late and think they are worth looking into.

    Interesting topic
I think you raised a lot of relevant points about how technology/streaming services and AI as well as autotune etc...and things of that sort have been impacting the music industry
I personally agree with a lot of those points but I would also say just like with other types of creative expression and artistic ventures it's inevitable that what is being created and produced will change with the times
All these things tend to go through trends and cycles and to be in states of flux and AI and technology seems to be having quite an impact on other forms of art and entertainment...
How far it goes and it's ultimate impact is still unknown
We have to hope that the spark of creativity and passion within the human spirit will endure and prevail
As for the current music scene I have become more eclectic and I can honestly say that I pretty much enjoy all types of music
I even like a lot of the trendy popular stuff like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd etc
But I also love classic rock ,alternative , metal, 8Os music and so on
Some of my go to artists recently are
Bad Omens , Sleep Token, Day seeker and Highly Suspect

Bad Omens and Highly Suspect are two that I forgot to mention but great choices. Not listen to Day Seeker but always on the hunt for new music so I will have to add them to my list.
