Hello to all of my Healthcare brothers and sister!
The 2020 AHA Guidelines are out. I have posted the new videos for BLS, ACLS, and PALS: ua-cam.com/play/PLhOFBB3AV9swkQ1KUodrLKmxvEbI3R0-R.html.
These changes will not take place until February 2021; however, these concepts are currently being taught in your courses. ☺️❤️

AHA advises 10 - 20 ml/kg crystalloid for Septic Shock & 20ml/kg crystalloid for Non Septic Shock. Both between 5 - 20 mins , multiple doses 2-3 times.

Current research from 2020 recommends to start with 20 mL/kg crystalloid for shock states with subsequent reassessments . If the pediatric patient is in cariogenic shock; however, we will use less fluid resuscitation due to the failure of the pump. There is also research recommendations from the American Heart Association to restrict routine fluid resuscitation in infants and children with "severe febrile illness" who are not in shock ☺️
