Then they’ll stare at me like I’m the crazy one when I’m giving them a dirty look for making me go around them, into the street, or into a pothole or similar. There's a stop line for a reason. FYI: a "Stop Line" is that thick solid white line before the cross walk. You're meant to stop before it. If you can't see it in front of your hood, you're too close.
Problem is people know it , they Just don't care. Nowadays here in the netherlands I just stop when cars are driving late evening or at night before I cross the street , Just incase one turns at the point where I cross over and do that full speed with no / last minute blinking lights on. Already got my dog almost driven over once before because of these idiots here stupid hybrid car , didn't even hear him and was massively speeding. It's a 20 mile lane but everybody drives like 35 and late evening even 55 mile. Problem is to many side roads that's why lower speed but the road is wide enough to easily speed. Also the triangle "shark teeth " that we call on the road , almost everybody seems to ignore them when it's convient in my country . And then look at you and be mad if you almost or full crash into them. So yeah nowadays I just wait with my bike , I can wait 10 seconds versus those that want to hospitalize people Just to make dinner in time from work.
