Thank you for coming up with a great fix for this issue, Jeep is still working on it late 2022...
I just installed this on my 2019 JLUR with the rear locker flashing on my dash. The flashing went away and the locker works just fine. Thank you for the fix. I'll be buying another one for my front locker, (just in case) since I regeared to 4:88s 4 years ago.
Thanks for the excellent customer service and video. My local Jeep dealership wanted me to replace the entire rear axle assembly with a backorder time of 4 months. I guess their idiocy to redesign a simple sensor is your gain. Lol.
Great video. Love your products. We recently purchased a Rubicon and will be putting one in our glove box.
Just installed this on my 2018 JLU. Works great. five minute install.
I have this issue not sure if its my front or rear axle so I just purchased 2 from your website. so I wont have to worry about it. Thanks for the install video to make it easy and quick to install
@@zautomotive Update, it ended up being my front lockers sensor that is the issue, even with this plugged in, I had to remove the bad sensor; drill holes into the sensor in 3 places, fill it up with electric sealant than reinstall. I was hopping this was going to bypass the sensor that was faulting. Still a good product
This is great news! I just got the light on our Neon Gladiator and the MojitoJeep has had an intermittent Service Axle Locker Light.
Just removed the rear oil filled sensor, drilled 3 holes in plastic sensor body, cleaned out with electronics cleaner then potted the sensor. Cleaned steel fuzz off sensor magnet, added fresh Valvoline 75w140....no more "ding" or "service axle locker" message. Cost about $55. For two quarts of gear oil and potting epoxy to fix and jlur needed differential servicing anyway.
If there actual locker problem will this notify you or is this bypass and no longer tell you of actual mechanical problem?
Is this the same as the SEV 4WD, I just got that on my 2020 Gladiator and I haven't been off road.
2023 jeep Rubicon with 26k miles on it and 4.88 gears, just had this happen to me over the weekend. Waiting for the part to come in so I can fix it, Might end up potting them also just not sure yet.
They really should include instructions with these parts.
I installed on rear axle, no change. So I took it off and put it on the front axle...still no change EXCEPT now I'm getting g a "SERV 4WD" light (solid).
How screwed am I?
I'm confused, you're commenting on the video that is the instructions... As mentioned in the video, if you have the TaZer you can read the codes and see which axle is having the problem.
I have an '18 Rubicon. Had my rear axle replaced in '21. Now I'm getting the message again. They now sell sensor separately (actually a kit of 5 different sensors because apparently only 1 works? That's what the parts department told me).
Anyway... I'm leaning towards buying this Z Locker OEM but watching this video I'm concerned now.
He mentions that it could be due to metal shavings in my differential?
Maybe I shouldn't simply put this thing on which will ignore the issue.... should I get out fluid checked out?
great video!! What happens if you just unplug current plug ? I imagine lockers will not work, but will light go out?
Would contact support before you just unplugged the OEM lockers - support@zautotech.com
Have you had any issues with any wires breaking even though you zip tied it to remove some slack?
Mine broke after 6 months of use at the glue on the plastic box. Unrepairable.
This system can be installed and left permanently? I assume you can Install for preventive measures as well.
Appreciate any information.
I have zero issues at this time. I can only assume this will eventually happen no matter what, and the only way to combat this situation is to change the rear dif fluid often or purchase this product and change the rear dif fluid when prescribed in the manual.
Correct, it can left in permanently, or as many people have mentioned to us, they just leave it in their glove compartment and have installed it when needed. Also, as mentioned in the video, if the Jeep does end up having a locker issue, you can use the tazer to read the code and determine which locker is having the fault
Thanks for video
I got 2 for front and rear axles but unfortunately it didnt work and the light keeps popping when I turn or accelerate hard. What now?
May have something actually failing with the lockers, should get it checked out. Email support at support@zautotech.com and they will be able to recommend the next best course of action
I ordered the Z locker and installed it, but the error code didn't go away. Turned out that my battery was faulty! New battery installed, and there are no more problems.
@@brucedemarest3929 yep faulty batteries will trigger all kinds of codes and lights
I have the common issue and intalled the Tazer bypass wire and it permanently brings up the service locker light on dash? Do i have a wrong setting on the Tazer or some unkowen issue?
Have you tried on both front and rear? You could also read the error codes through the TaZer as shown in the video, to see which locker is throwing the codes
Hello.
Thank you very much for this video.
Could you answer a couple of questions for me.
Some time ago, I had this problem on my JL Rubicon. At first the error appeared and disappeared, later it began to glow all the time on the dashboard. I purchased your OEM Z Locker and installed it. But I installed it on the front axle of the car and the problem disappeared. The error did not reappear for several weeks. Now the same error has started appearing and disappearing again. I do not understand? I installed Z Locker OEM on the front axle and it should be fine. Does this mean that now I have the same problem with the rear axle and I also need to install Z Locker OEM on it? Does it happen that 2 sensors fail at the same time?
I also have a Tazer mini - but it doesn't find any errors.
And the last question - when will Z Locker OEM be available to order?
Once again, thank you very much for the video and for such a great solution to the problem.
@@zautomotive,
Thank you very much for the answer. I also thought so, that this is due to the fact that the error is not active all the time at the moment. I had 2 errors: B23BB and B23BF, but I understand this is not related to my problem?
But in any case, I think I'll still get your second device.
Hello again, my friend.
I have a problem again. If you remember the last time I bought your device, but it didn't solve my problem. The blocking error still sometimes appeared and disappeared. Now I have bought your second device. I have your devices installed in front and back. But, the error still appears and disappears. Sometimes it happens every 10 seconds. Tazer mini did not find any errors. I do not know what to do...?
@@zautomotive , спасибо за ответ. Да, наверно так и сделаю. Разве что, сейчас, в это непростое время - Это сложно. Извините…
Will it work with the Eaton electric lockers?
Do you have to have the tazer too? Or can you buy this as a stand alone item?
I'm going on my second time around with my 2020 JT Rubicon flashing the "Service 4WD system" and the yellow stays for about 3 seconds and then goes away. Mostly when I accelerate from a stop or hit the accelerator hard to pass someone at highway speeds. It goes away but the tone and lightup on the info center is getting annoying. Will this fix it? Been to the dealer once for a faulty speed sensor (thought it was that) but the problem is back. Thanks.
"Service 4WD System" would not be the same issue as the "Service Axle Locker System" that is being shown and fixed by the Z-Locker OEM
What do you suggest doing if my 2018 wrangler JL only has the flashing locker with exclamation point. It hasn’t changed to a steady symbol.
Buy the Z-Locker because that’s the initial sign that they’re going bad. Feel free to email support for further clarification- support@zautotech.com
@@fernandobarba998 as the video says, best thing to do would be to read the codes to determine which one is going out. If there is no codes, you can buy one and install it in one place to see if the light goes away. If it doesn’t, move it to the other location and see then
So in other words whether you have the locker sensor problem or not it's better to have this installed as a preventative just in case since it's a common issue.
I just added a 1" lift spacer to the front and it now is throwing this code. What is the fixfor this? Tia
I bought two of these things and it still says service Axel log system every time I accelerate and then it goes away
@@JayjayL808-j2d have you checked the codes? If it’s not one of the ones shown in the video, then maybe it’s a problem outside of the locker sensor, which is what the Z-locker is bypassing
My only question is. Can the lockers be turned on while not in 4L? I sure hope it doesn't let it do that.
Anyone know?????
I know it is my front one because the rear will lock in when the service light decides to go out.
I bought 2 just to go ahead and fix or patch the problem.
Well, worth $400 for both shipped.
How often does this happen with the stock setup? Is it a gear change that really helps this problem to occur or is it happening on stock Rubi's just as often? Now I know you are in the business to make money off of these great products but couldn't frequent differential oil changes and cleaning of the magnetic drain plug help to prolong these sensors wether stock or modified if you are saying it's the metal gear debris that's creating this failure?
@@zautomotive Thanks, I should probably get one of your devices to keep in the glove box just in case. Unfortunately, your fix is on backorder too, haha. I guess the secret is out. I love my Tazer Mini so I'm sure this device would be no different.
See I have this problem but my Jeep says it’s everything. It says it’s the sway bar, it says the lockers, and then it says to service my 4wheel drive as a whole ! It’s ripping my hair out bro does anyone have know if this wire would change that ?
Sounds like more than just locker failure. Do you have a TaZer to read the codes?
This fit for 2021 Gladiator Mojave? , I bought from Amazon and don't match with the connectors😢
yes... email our support team and they will help you troubleshoot the issue. support@zautotech.com
@@zautomotive there's no difference Rubicon's and Mojave . The one I bought on Amazon looked the same as the one you sell, but it wasn't the same size. Does not fit
@@Scarlett16049 okay as mentioned you need to contact customer support, I can not help you with an exchange or identifying if it's even our product. There are many third party sellers on Amazon
@@zautomotive I will thanks for your support, Can I keep driving with the light blinking?
@@Scarlett16049 I dont know what light is blinking... another question for support
do you have a product for JK's?
We have a product called the JK Blaster, but that doesn't have to do with lockers at all
I’ve been driving for 1,000+ miles with the locker flashing and it still hasn’t said service axle yet
Bought one of these and 6 months later, red wire broke right at the glue. 180 bucks down the tube.
and you contacted support and received a new one, or just decided to complain online? 😅
@@zautomotive Nahh, I text the number on the web page as they do not take voice calls (only text messages) and let them know it broke. There was no offer to replace and no info was given about support so I went ahead and ordered another one. Not too thrilled about it, but it is what it is. They do not offer any kind of priority shipping. the replacement took a week to get.
@@zautomotive You know, you're reply is pretty fu**ed up. I've dropped 180 bucks on an over priced chinese piece of junk thagt broke after 6 months of normal use, then I text you because you don't take voice calls and let you know it broke after normal use and you offer no refund, warranty, email for customer support or anything else. So I buy ANOTHER one for 180 bucks and post this online so other people can be aware of it and you laugh? This is how you treat your customers after you screw them? You laugh at them? You're an A$$ hole dude.
@@9821Joker Sorry you're disappointed, as you stated no support email was provided to you, yet that was given to you as soon as we responded here. From your messages, it sounds like you were upset from the start because we don't have a voice line, but our support staff often sends replacements if proper order number or bill of sale is provided by the customer... also, all of our products are made in America; it says it right on the inside of the box
Are you ok buddy ?
Shaking
Just installed in both front and rear.
5 min install and it worked as described.
Dealer took 4 different attempts and never fixed the issue. Decided to just do it myself.
Thanks for the great product.
