Was at Silverstone for the British GT in April, the reason these are so popular is accessibility . We could walk through the paddock with no issue, everyone was friendly and accommodating despite the awful weather. Been to F1 races, never again. Bunch of prima donnas. GT for me and my disabled daughter all the way.

Every racing series offers better motorsport than F1. Even a small local kart race. F1 has become a lame and unwatchable s*itshow. On the other hand, WEC has become really great in the last years and this race was one of the best ever. I only missed 30 mins in total. The only race ever i watched more of were on several occasions the 24h on the Nürburgring.

So as a lover of racing in all facets of racing, the action level is quite intense towards the middle of the field. I’ve seen Porsche Cup drivers get closer but this is another level. In other news the ACO/FIA wants a bigger field in WEC in the years to come, but this year there was a problem with the amount of pit boxes at Imola and COTA, but we might see 40+ in normal WEC races next year.

1:01:45: That turned out to be the case. The Cadillac started on the tires they ran in Hyperpole qualifying, which had three hard fast laps on them. Most other teams started on fresh tires and Cadillac's strategy was to hold a fresh set for later in the race. We did see that in the second half of the race, the car started moving back up in the field.
Man, another 35 hours to wait. I guess that is so that it can finish uploading and compiling in YTs system. I look forward to watching it a couple hours at a time each day after work this coming week.

Love the way you get so many different in-car views. I know a lot of these teams have videos up of onboard the whole race, but it’s nice during the race. Cadillac has been all over Jota for a minute.
That comment about Ant Davidson was amusing, but I really do think his presence on the team adds considerably to my enjoyment of the series. Having regular insights from a recently retired top level sportscar driver really contributes to my understanding of the more detailed aspects of the sport
thank the good lord that no one got seriously hurt or worse from the crashes. it's a testament to how far car safety, esp racing safety has matured to the point that drivers are no longer ending up in the obituaries

Why was this broadcast delayed for a whole week, when I watched the Imola race right afterwards? I'm genuinely curious. I'm not upset at all. On the contrary; I'm thankful to be able to watch these races bc I don't have access to them besides you tube.
Having tried to upload an hour long video to U-tube I suspect that FIAWEC are having the problems I had: Unauthorised sccess from new address (Spa not Imola) or you require further verification to upload a video longer than 15 mins. - I gave up! Luckily WEC don't look like they have. These vids are great especially if you went to the event & actually want to see what happened out of your sight. Thanks WEC - I just wish all of the FIA did the same.

However, you definitely don't get the big picture afforded by tv coverage and the excellent commentary provided by the WEC. My preference is actually to watch on tv bc of the commentary and overall big picture view afforded by tv. That said, there's something special about the smell, the sound, and the general theater of a track side event.

I absolutely love the Cadillac Hypercar. But while it has the speed, it seems like the engineers are struggling greatly with power management and endurance. It hurt watching it fall a dozen places because the logistics were off... Someday the Caddy team will get it together. And they'll be an absolute menace.

I just wanna let my commet in this section before the Ferrari "Fans" start trolling. I was there in Spa and the Restart was the best decision that the Stewards could make. It wasn't unfair that the Ferraris need to Stopp twice in the last 1¾ of the Race and the Porsche's only once because the Porsches came in before the red flag was shown. They've just had god damn luck. And just stop to hate the other manufacturer's or drivers for their win. If youre a real fan of the WEC you grant everyone the Victcory. Only 2 classes though, there will be 3 for the 24LM where LMP2 will be as well, but here it was just Hypercar and GT3 which is good enough anyhow.

It wasn't unfair that the Ferraris need to Stopp twice in the last 1¾ of the Race and the Porsche's only once because the Porsches came in before the red flag was shown. They've just had god damn luck. And just stop to hate the other manufacturer's or drivers for their win. If youre a real fan of the WEC you grant everyone the Victcory. And if you don't you or you're favourite team doesnt deserve a win or a championship.
