True. Stepping out on the balcony to get air at a NYC function in a high rise and looking over the side, when you are good and high, looking down the avenue; is definitely like looking into the machine. Even if you don’t have a fear of heights you’ll feel the profound scale of it all.

    • @analogsamurai9576

I thought that was incredibly vain of some of the more stoic moments of these vods.. NYC skyline is impressive but there is no glamor in changing altitude. So much of it sits empty on the financial and existential crisis what is the point of all that engineering when it burns up so much resources and sells our country down the line exponentially at every moment because of the vanity for consumption that exceeds humane. There are so many other cities around the world that aren't filthy. There is no scale at all when they can't even give the entire thing a powerwash.

Left CT for NC for a job. Was gone for about 4 years. Moving back to CT this summer.
The gimmick in NC is "we have everything here", but what people dont tell you is that they brought "everything here" like 10-15 years ago, so everything feels extremely odd. 60% of people no longer have the accent. The houses, food, fishing, people, etc... all feel artificial, because you are living/working with people mostly from Minnesota, Massachusetts, Nevada, etc...

this clip is when I realized I think Sam and Nick, moreso Nick are a bit too jaded at times idk. I just dont agree with this take here and Im born and raised nyc. I agree with treating NYC like a whore but the rest of the US has some appeal to it, you just have to spend time there to see it you wont fall in love right away because every state is extremely different its not like northeast where it all blends together. Maybe its because Im younger but this is a wack take, I was the same way when I first came to texas but I actually started to understand the appeal after a while, not for everyone but its cool. Also New england/northeast isnt the only place with 6 gears of life
