    i remember when I was a kid, my dad would drop me off at his friends place some times when he had to work (single dad) and it was a Japanese family, and they had a super Famicom from Japan, and some of my favorite childhood memories are playing with my dads friends kid. I could not understand him, he did not speak english, But when we played video games, we could some how FULLY understand each other no problem, It taught me to listen to people without just hearing the words they say

    Great fun in the video. Thank you!
    That notwithstanding, a small piece of my soul dies every time you say, “samyoorai” 😂

    The 3 Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden carts, Ranma ½ Chonai Gekitou, and Yu Yu Hakusho 2 are the ones that stand out to me.

    Sad thing is these days bulk lots of games are pretty predictable, especially with these lots from JPN the seller just pops down to the 2nd hand store after the sale & buys a bulk lot of games below the selling price that have already been looked up online, picked away at etc. most of the excitement comes from cultural oddities now.

    I don't know what the game is, but the little boy is Shin from Shin-chan, an anime and probably manga

    If you look closely at the Super Mario World Japanese cartridge, you will noticed that it's actually called Super Mario Bros. 4. Most people kept making hack of Super Mario Bros. 4 not knowing SMB4 already exist.

    I used to live in Japan 20 years ago and over the course of many weekends I got one of each of the loose Super Famicom games I could find in the flea markets. Saw plenty of copies of all these, nice to know they are still kicking around. Maybe there were some back then that you are less likely to find in a junk box today, like the shmups? Still plenty of ultra-common games worth picking up like Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island, the Donkey Kong Country games, F-Zero... there must still be thousands of them around.

    I'm sure someone probably will throw it out there, but you can get a 1min fix style mod for the SuperGB to make it cycle/clock accurate like the SGB2 did, costs maybe 10-15 of your local currency as you put it. It rests on top of the original board, takes 3 drops of solder to affix it in place where it needs to be. Final Fight 2 is a solid pickup, just glue stick the label down and swap the back from a trash title you can't enjoy. That last one is Crayon Shin-chan, a screwy anime/manga figure, not sure if the game will end up enjoyable, and yeah that is a more adult thing, subtle and otherwise.
    I looked at your spread of games, SF2 is a nice one obviously not listed. That F1 Driving game if you're into it is a decent enough racer. The Yellow DBZ game is a solid earlier 1vs1 style street fighter 2 type fighting game but seriously the blue one #2 is amazing has the best spread of DBZ fighters and it looks/controls great. Super Tetris 2 +Bombliss is a solid 2 pack upgraded puzzle game that upgrades both T2 and Bombliss to something better. In the second spread, less nice, but the Namcot 2 title that's Yuu Yuu Hakosho2 a solid 1vs1 fighter for the fans of that anime. There's always Mario paint too if you've got the mouse.

      It was a bit under £200, more like £180 which when I wrote that was about $215.

    I've considered doing the same thing, but I already own so many Super Famicom carts (almost 200 last count) I'd end up with way too many duplicates. In fact after this video I'm firmly convinced it wouldn't pan out for me!

    • @AnthonyFlack
      @AnthonyFlack Рік тому

      I got up to about 250 unique Super Famicom carts by hunting Japan flea markets over a few years. Some good games you would find all day long. Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country were practically guaranteed to turn up. But a lot of good games, like Super Punch Out for instance, even back then would never be in the flea market bins. I expect you are correct and all the good games you'd get in a box like this are ones you have already. A good place for somebody to start though.

    How do you get an SFC on a pal screen? Can you get it on a CRT?

    • @hankhill7827
      @hankhill7827 Рік тому +2

      Most TVs in Europe can handle 60Hz so it's not an issue at all. The only real "issue" is power supply (100 vs 220v) but all you need to do there is use a DC plug that is made for your own country's AC mains. In the case of the SFC all you need is a DC plug that is 9 or 12 volts with a negative polarity.

    As far as how to pronounce that fish's name, correct the first time! It _is_ pronounced "băss"! If the word were referring to bold guitar, then it would be pronounced "bāse". But it was in fact a băss fish, _not_ a bāss guitar.
