Simple, straightforward, sincere. Wonderfully sung and played. So what if it's Muppets? It's a thing of beauty.
The Muppets in general are things of beauty.
@@yosefdemby8792 Yeah, The Muppet Show was created to break the stereotype that puppets are for kids.
@@matthewweatherford6566 It had to face that prejudice first. Jim Henson kept pitching it for years, but every network in America turned it down! Fortunately, British television mogul Sir Lew Grade knew better.
no, i would definitely agree. that's why the muppets are so wonderful to watch, because the performers are legitimately talented outside of puppetteering and voice work.
At his funeral (or memorial or something like that), Jerry Nelson was referred to as the Muppets' Mel Blanc.
One of Floyd's best performances.
Rest in peace Jerry.
One of my top favorite Muppets musical numbers to this day. Just exquisite in every way.
I'm just realizing this now but I think Floyd is so lovely when he sings so slow. #FLOYDISBEST.
This is Floyd's best performance. Sometimes I just can't believe his vocal range.
The vocal and low-key arrangement with no drums take a lot of inspiration from the 1975 Leon Redbone version recorded for Redbone's debut album "On the Track". Redbone performed the song live on Saturday Night Live in early 1976, a few months before this Muppet Show episode was filmed, and he was having something of a moment in the culture at the time. Henson also gravitated towards the 1920s-1940s songwriting that Redbone was reviving, so it's pretty natural to see this skit show up on the Muppet Show.
Cool, mellow.....brilliant
Zoot absolutely freakish as ever ...
what a voice if they should have gave Floyd his own album
This is my all time favorite version of this song. Fantastic.
Floyd is one cool cat😎
They said that "everybody had covered it"... but DAMN! ;)
Call me crazy, but I think this version is very good and not limited to a puppet show.
I thought the same
@@TheIntervurt Yeah. It's not bad at all, is it?
RIP Jerry Nelson, the Muppet performer with the greatest singing voice.
According To The Muppet Wiki, Ain't Misbehavin Was Filmed Later In The First Season Of The Muppet Show
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 73yo Aussie fan.
No one can ever compare to Jim Henson
Or Jerry Nelson.
Save love 😘 for you and everyone else
Floyd used this deep voice of his in the first verse of Gotta Be in The Muppets Mayhem on Disney+.
Cool 😎 and souls 😍🎉🥳😄 groovey your heart ❣️ and soul 🧑🎤🎸🎼🎶🎵 mayhem's weirdos rock star ⭐✨🎉
mohinderbauer I feel the same, even if you submitted that 2 years ago ;)
I just think that's the jazz at the highest level.
Your kisses are worth waiting for.
Believe me
Electric Mayhem during this era was just the best. Not going to lie, I think their New York State of Mind is better than Joel's... lol~ I notice people are giggle early on but as the song kicks in people just stop and the magic sets in and they stop being puppets. Least to me.
Also love Rowlf's version.
Good dhit
I love the muppet version of the Ray Charles song! *Sigh*
It's actually a Fats Waller song, it's just that everyone who was anyone covered it.
I think Janice's mike was turned too low.
man someone should post the real credits
Zoot (Sax) - Frank Reidy
Floyd (Vocals) - Jerry Nelson
Janet (Guitar) - Richard Hunt
@@gustie44 But Janice doesn't sing here.
@@gustie44 Janice is Eren Ozker in season one where this song is from.
