Meanwhile, all was not well in the Nephite nation. Traitorous Nephites
combined with Lamanites to threaten the homes, the families and the
freedom of the country. In the midst of this chaos arose a hero, a man who
was absolutely faithful to his God and to his nation. His name, like mine,
was Moroni, and it was said of him that if every man were like him, “the
very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would
never have power over the hearts of the children of men.” He rallied his
people to the defense of their nation and their faith, with a flag he called
“The Title of Liberty.”

young) even so they said unto me: Father behold our God is with us, and he will not suffer that we should fall; then let us go forth; we would not slay our brethren if they would let us alone; therefore let us go lest they should overpower the army of Antipus.
(47) Now they never had fought, yet they did not
fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.
