    Nice. I look forward to seeing the new build.. Yuup, always happens, we think, oh ill just move one frag, or it wont take too long, and then it ends up taking hours, water everywhere, glue stuck to the sofa etc lol

    Use ice cubes in a bag to get the anemones foot to detach

    Big plastic tubs come in handy.

    Really enjoyed this vid. Long Day. Glad you're not transfering over that nasty rock. 40 Br a really nice size and footprint.

      Thanks! Yeah, there was no way I was transferring that rock to the 40 gallon! This type of video is my absolute favorite to make. A reef keeping vlog that tells a good story. More to come!

    I get that oil stain issue to what is that and when you pass those areas with the mag scraper it’s like smother and not as tight to the glass 😮

    For that new refugium it seems like the tunze refugium light would be a better fit rather than the kessil. Breakdowns/moves are super messy and not that fun. Looking good!

      Tell me more. A buddy of mine who is quite knowledgeable said that he found lights that mimic the sun seem to grow red algae better. What's your experience?

      @@MyFirstFishTank not so much spectrum but more from a form factor standpoint. Its long and slender(more coverage), comes in 3 spectrums, and waterproof so you can have it super close to the macro algae (you could even have it lighting it from underneath). I haven't set up my refugium yet but I will definitely be using it once I do. From what I have seen in the forums people have been really successful with it.

    I’m about to breakdown my 75 gallon to transfer into a RedSea Reefer 350. I currently have a massive Dino outbreak. Wondering if I should bleach my rocks or throw them in a brute trashcan with salrwater and add live rock enhance and other biodiversity. Thoughts?

    • @MyFirstFishTank
      @MyFirstFishTank 4 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't listen to what I'm about to say, because I know many, many, many reefers who disagree. My personal experience is that dinos are in every tank, waiting for an opportunity to come out. The real concern I would have is what caused the dinos in your tank anyway? Once you can identify that problem (often it is too low nitrates/phosphates, or killing off your biological filter), and just don't repeat it. But like I said, this comment may get some serious hate because there are hobbyists who vociferously disagree. If you want to be super safe, then acid wash.

      My First Fish Tank I completely agree with you. The definitely are present in every system. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t have a good foundation of other bacteria and organisms to outcompete them. I transferred my healthy 55g into this 75 thinking it would be alright without a cycle. That’s why I’m going to cure my rock before hand on my new build and get a good cycle in.

    Love my 180g. But my 3.6g reef is the bomb. How bout we have a pico nano growout coral contest for fun. Get one of the distributers to ship registered free. Lets have some fun. Do something different, keep connected. Blow up the reefing circle.
