I am late to the game here. We just set up the same filter and saltwater pump. Our filter has a timer on it that turns off after 10 hours. We need to manually turn it back on the next day. What do you do if you go out of town for a week? Does the saltwater system run without the filter running?

how long that salt system lasts in this very case? is salt more 'corrosive' to all components (plastic, rubber...)? can it survive at least 3 summers with only 2 adults using the pool for chilling?
