It's funny how Dr. Lydia commented about bringing her child. I was thinking how awesome it was that he was so interested and not squeamish. I salute you, Dr. Lydia. He's learning compassion from you.
I think it's awesome you bring your child. Will be a very well adjusted child. My kid grew up on a farm and was witness to life's struggles. A strong woman she is now. Can handle emergencies.
I was a vet nurse but did rescue on wildlife as well as domestic animals before that so my kiddies helped out a lot. We also lived on a farm for the first few years of their lives so they are well adjusted adults with children of their own. My granddaughter has been a vet nurse now she's been accepted into uni to continue her studies to become a qualified vet. Thank you for the tour of duties around the place ❤
I believe when you expose a child to different scenarios & not make a big deal about them, that child will grow up well adjusted. My dad was a mechanic, I would be in the garage "helping" as a youngster & now, I enjoy cars. However, my mom was petrified of water & during swim lessons she would tell me I was just like her & would sink to the bottom which of course I did. Dr. Lydia's children are being exposed to life & will be well adjusted.
@@patriciasmith3973 yes and the calm, peaceful tone of the new narrator too. Plus fun to try the ‘video game’ opening music but must confess I am appreciating the more serene style
Dr. Lydia I loved seeing your son in the OR with you!! He was so interested in what you were doing. Well done! My father was an EMT and he took me to accidents, I learned to treat for shock, find shoes and calm people down, this freed up the others to treat those who were badly injured. I was well prepared for when I had my son, I learned that almost all head wounds, even the smallest ones are bleaders and you can't help yourself or others if you don't keep calm.
It's Great that you brought your child and allowed him to be present for the surgery. I believe that children are often too sheltered from the realities of having pets. He will be a much more Balanced person due to experiences such as these.
Dr. Lydia has a vet in the making with her little man. Theres NOTHING at all with him being there. How do kids on a farm learn.. They watch animals being born, get fixed by a vet etc etc. He's learning from a young age how to treat an animal properly. He will be an amazing young man.
Listen Dr. Mom he is a laid back and obviously not at all traumatized. Pretty cool dude. I think,as a nurse, it teaches them to be cool in emergency, God is in this operation and will bless you ❤. I love you all.
I think it's amazing you bring your children to work!! What a life lesson! Great job from both Dr. Lydia & Dr. Gina!! Those ladies go above and beyond!! Both are invaluable assets to this organization! ALL the staff are amazing! 🎉🎉
Any one who says anything bad about Dr Lydia's son being there needs to re watch and see how interested and observant he was! He clearly found it fascinating and who knows maybe the next amazing vet in the making! ❤
I just sit back and enjoy the whole Happenings show! The watching the animals, the learning the people's jobs, the day to day Happenings ! Thanks for the tours!!!
Dr Lidia I think your awesome and as a mom of 4 too i say we gotta do what we got to do. So no hate here actually I think it's great your son was with you . He was watching what you were doing with great interest from what I seen. Hopefully he'll want to grow up and be like mom. Imagine what a great veterinarian, surgeon, or doctor he could be from being with you while he's young and learning from watching and listening to what's going on there at Horse Plus and soaking all that . Kids learn the most in their early years. Better him be there watching you then to be sitting in front of a tablet watching cartoons or something. Praying for little kitties speedy recovery. Much love to you all there. You all are amazing people ❤
I just love this format so much! It seems like we get to see so much more of everything! I think Dr. Lydia’s son just might be a next gen vet!!! He is so calm, and interested in the process….I love Cherokee…. ❤ many blessings!!! ❤😊❤
My mom was a Reg. Nurse. She thought us so much. We had chemistry kits & Biology sets! We had Emergency kits for people pets. Learned first aid. We had a bad corner a short way from are house& on the weekends we always had car wrecks. We would help my mom & dad & neighbors help the casualties. The only time we got sent home was if someone got killed! So, I believe kids are pretty resilient in learning medical first aid stuff I use to watch spay & neutere surgeries when I was ten. So, yeah I was in the hospital myself a lot for my own accidents, kids adjust ! when I worked for the Humane Society people dropped animals at my house too 😂. That was OK with me! ❤
I hope little kitty heals quickly and completely. I also think that having your son there is not a bad thing. He will grow up with empathy and a healthy understanding of life. Maybe he'll grow up to be a doctor, too. He's a little doll.
I do love the happenings format! I enjoy the most: Keith laughing, the videographer talking to the horses as she walks from one place to another. That’s my favorite part, but enjoy the whole video!
Since these dailies began, I've become convinced that Keith needs an apprentice right now, because he is indispensable. The place wouldn't grind to a halt without Keith, but it would take more than one person to cover everything he does 😅
@@nikkia9506Totally agree! There should never have just one person able to do something. I had that at one of my former jobs and I had to come in with bronchitis.
The look on the boys face shows that this was not his first time seeing an operation he may become a vet. The black and white kitty may need to have a look over. It was walking with a stiff back leg.
Dr. Lydia's son there right by her for the kitten's amputation surgery, what a dream upbringing. And bonus that he is both interested and not bothered by the surgical medical aspect. Was good to somewhat meet two of her kids... watching her here, they must also have had some fascinating Elephanr exposure in the past! I mean....i had good parents and decent exposure but I drew them to animals, not the other way around. So cool. Bet that boy does something with that someday (no pressure) if not animals, possibly medical.... i couldnt be a vet with all the sadness. I became an engineer...just like my dad and an artist just like my mom. As always, thx for the vlog!
When bad situations happen and a child has to be there it is all in the way the adults react as to whether it is traumatizing or not. Children can tolerate a lot more they are pretty resilient

Memories flooded back seeing Dr Lydia's little boy watching surgery, I had to do that with my Dad... It's something one never forgets and has influenced my life for sure, especially in all animal life happenings that have been thrown in my path... Again I love these vlogs.
I love watching your videos..Maybe just a suggestion.. When Camera girl is visiting the animals, she could have some treats with her to distribute to the animals.. I don't know why you don't have separate spaces on the wall for "found love" and "transferred".
