You left out Denny Hulmes burning his hands in a practice crash and missing the 1970 race and letting the guy besides Revson onto the team. The team was using one of the top Indy car crew chiefs,Iforget which one,and he and Hulme could not agree on what to do with the set up leading to the crash. I read a interview with Hulmewhere he said that his crash was a moth to the day exactly after Bruce McLaren was killed testing the new Can-Am car ,so ending the famous"Bruce and Denny show" of the late 60's in Can-Am.

Must be fun to go to the Indy 500
Only team to win Indy 500, F1 world championship, Le Mans and CanAm.
Awesome video you should have more subs for the content that you make
why are the indycars looking like prototypes? really a bummer... I think the Indycars from 1996 -1999 are the most beautiful racing cars. bring them back!
They are. Check out this video I made on the 2018 IndyCar.

The "good old days" when "innovation" was king !!! The Novi, The Turbin car, The Chevy V8 when Mario was almost a lap in front of the rest of the field before his car broke. The "pushrod Buick's". Everyone driving one of two cars, one of two motors, one of two aero packages. The racing is good but it's more about rules, strategy, fuel mileage, than speed. Still watching but it's not the same !!!
david, in all the years that MotoGP has been to Indianapolis, did you went there or you watched it on tv? PS: which was your favourite MotoGP race at indy?
Can't wait for Talladega this week
You should drive a McLaren M16 in Indy 500 Evolution.
You're going to like the video scheduled for May 20th a lot.
You really butchered Mika 's name
The M16 was not revolutionary. It was a copy of the Lotus 72 which debuted at the 1970 Spanish GP. It was Bruce McLaren's next to last GP before he was killed at Goodwood June 1970
We he saw the Lotus 72 at the Spanish GP he said that would be his 1971 Indy Car and even though he would not live to see it race. John Barnard did the same copying the Lotus 78 and bringing ground effects to Indy with the Chaparral 2K in 1979.
do you like cheese?
Chatty Matty yes

Johnny Rutherford and McLaren paired up in 1973, proved to be a winning combination. In their first season together, they won Ontario and Michigan. In 1974, they took home 4 wins (Ontario, Indy, Milwaukee and Pocono). In 1975, they carried the Gatorade colors. They only won at Phoenix, along with their 2nd place finish at Indy. The team rebounded in 1976, with 3 wins including Trenton, Indy and College Station. In '77, the McLaren team switched from Offy to Cosworth. They swept both Milwaukee races along with victories at Phoenix and College Station. The following season, they were able to capture 2 victories including Phoenix and Michigan. Several team owners split from USAC and formed Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART). McLaren chose to compete in CART. They won the Atlanta Twin 125, their final victories.
McLaren won the F1 title in 1974 and 1976 (Emerson Fittipaldi and James Hunt) and won the Indy 500 the same two years with Johnny Rutherford driving the McLaren factory team making it a nice double those years. Though Lotus were F1 champion in 1965 too with Jim Clark who also won the Indy 500 with a Lotus the same year.
Johnny Rutherford only just missed the 1976 USAC title by 20 points (4220 pts to Gordon Johncock's 4240 pts). Had he won it then McLaren would have been champions in F1 and USAC (Indycar) the same year.
And believe it or not, McLaren also briefly tried it's hand in NASCAR in 1976 (as an engine supplier), but that turned out to be a disaster. They built engines for Junior Johnson's team for the 1976 Daytona 500, but it was uncompetitive, and Johnson's team changed engine suppliers before the '76 Daytona 500, but that also proved disastrous, as the engine they put in for the race let go on the first lap, and they finished last.
