As a cellist whose favourite quartets ever are Bartok 4 and Ligeti 1, I can’t believe I have never heard this before! Absolutely life changing. What a wildly unique, original, funky, gritty, funny etc piece of music; there aren’t enough superlatives. The epic arrival into ‘C ish’ at 1 after 20 turned me feral, what a genius man. Thanks so much for uploading this, I’m about to play along around two dozen times!
This is an incredibly amazing piece for many reasons. I have over the years I thought I heard all the Stravinsky pieces many many times but not this one thank you so much for putting it up.
4:29 sounds so much like Steve Reich. That little 8 measure section is fairly tonal in the midst of bitonality and dissonance and with the rhythms too? Years ahead of his time.

Reminds me of Steve Reich at that part!
An underrated absolute masterpiece, definitely !

You want to say that Reich is lightyears behind his time?
based Stravinsky
Sounds a bit like Bartok.
