Received one of those a couple of days ago and loving it so far, just wish it could take 4 18650 cells. Spent ages comparing chargers and this one seemed like it had the best features/specs.
Only one of theirs charges 21700 plus they were really made for their own line of batteries. Heck, I have some batteries that do not like being charged more than about 120ma or will explode so 72ma is what it wants. Only a good charger allows me to pick the current to charge with, and I do believe this one does from 0.1-3A Great for my 3000ma 18650 and my 600ma NiMH that explode if I charge them more than about 120ma. Nitecore are rapid chargers only.
Hi Mr. P I have my Xlite radio that uses 18650 batteries. And I use a charger that's 3 years old. I'm ready for a new charger. Thanks again for the information and video.
4:20 Do you need spacers for the 18500 cells you mentioned, they're not listed in the charging specs and the retractable pins on the horizontal slots don't look long enough unless they can be charged on the vertical aa/aaa slots.
Hi there :) I was kinda hoping you had the Previous version of the C4 as well (I do) but that previous version is ever so slightly to Small for some (of the better_) 18650's :@ Any idea if the space for 18650's in this new one is bigger?
no, i bought it and try to charge liion aa/aaa 1.5v - charger do not have such mode. It is so stupid, because it can give output 5v and isdt have cheaper chargers with support li-ion 1.5v
do you have to discharge 18650 batteries? (like you do for lipos) I'm trying to get into the hobby and starting with a sim and my controller needs 18650 batteries just want to make sure I have to take the same amount of precaution.
My experience of ISDT chargers has been awful. Both failed after just over a year and ISDT customer services were not interested in replacing either. I would not touch this equipment with a barge pole.
Should check out the xtar vc8 it is great will do 8 batteries at a time, will charge 2 at 2amps which is great for my samsung q30 cos they can be charged at 2amps
Seems to be nice charger but It is stupid to be only 4 channel for AA or AAA battery. Why they didn't make it like normal multi chemistry chargers with 4 spring loaded slots.
Nice video thanks. In ANALYSE operating mode, can the charge and discharge currents be individually chosen ?

I'm like you. I just like the ISDT chargers. This thing looks amazing and considering all that it's capable of, well worth the price.
Have a look at nitecore chargers for lithium-ions they are really good and you can charge 4x18650 or other at a time. stay safe Lee

This must be a new version of what I bought from them 3 years ago, as mine looks identical but I don't think it's called the Evo, just the C4.

The tabs will not fit flat top batteries.
Finally a decent charger for the 18650’s!!
Great stuff!!😁😁😁

No basis for a comparison but this one has a huge sprung support for the bigger batteries.
@@Painless360 yes it does indeed look like they changed that setup :)
Just measured it on this one and it looks like the max battery length is 72mm. Should be enough for most of them..
@@Painless360 that does seem a few mm's more indeed.. thanks :)
Awesome review, Lee! 😃
Pretty interesting charger indeed!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
a better charger also for test capacity for liion is the opus BT-C3100 V2.2 . i have four of them and test over 1600 cells for my powerwall.
Thanks for sharing! Was really interested before, but now I know that I need that in my collection xD
does it charge /test regular lithium aa 1.5 volt battery's?

LI-ION packs are a lot less fussy then LIPO. I do not discharge them here..
How is it after this time of use?
Still going strong... Happy flying

Can this charger charge li ion 21700 size, 4000mah ? Thx.

What's the blue translucent tag - top right - for?
To remove the screen protector.
@@Painless360 - oh, of course! :-)
Is there a way to charge 18650 packs for example a 3S pack?
I do that on a regular charger... Happy flying
@@Painless360 ah yes I do the same normally with LiPo charge mode and 0.5A to charge a 3S battery 18650
will 21700 protected cells fit?
How much longer are they?
@@Painless360 77mm or 3inch slot length would be enough
Slot length is just under 71mm
@@Painless360 thanks
Is it user programeable ? To set max charge to 4.1v
No option in the current firmware..
Nice & Thanks :)
Can it charge 18500? iSDT doesn't list that as one of the sizes it can charge
AAA,AA,10440,10500,12500,13500,14500,14650,16650,17650,17670,18650,18700,20650,20700,21700,22650,26650,26700
Ouch $50................ just use a nitecore charger i4 for $22 from Amazon
Be aware of possibility of lighting up your house during overcharging nickel batteries. There were several reports of this.
You lost me at, it needs a power supply. 😭😭
