@@chillybradley3095 Yeah I agree it's not a perfect game. But out of any Sonic Game, I think Sonic Unleashed is the one had all it's ideas perfectly visualised
sonic unleashed has always been really special to me- as a broke ass kid with less than attentive parents, i didn't get have any access to video games or a console until i was 10, and on my birthday i finally got the gift i had been BEGGING for. a ps3, minecraft, and sonic unleashed. i didn't even play minecraft that night lol, i was over the moon that i actually could play a sonic game after growing up with playthroughs and second hand experience of the games. it's the only sonic game ive ever been able to play, i lost that ps3 and my dvds a long time ago due to continuing to be broke and continuing to have bad parents, but my memories with sonic unleashed, that first night i played it, flaws and all, stay golden. ill never forget playing the werehog levels for my first time and absolutely losing my shit over them. they were frustrating, they were broken, but god did they make me laugh so damn hard and were a blast when i didn't get stuck on them for too long. ill never get over the feeling of my cheeks hurting playing the daytime levels, because the insane speed, boost mechanics and adrenaline of the gameplay just gave me so much joy. and the story of the game is just so lovely, it's really uplifting and the way they characterize sonic and his progress in the game hits just right. it's really important to know that no matter what ways you're changed, there's still those core parts of you that'll power through, never go away if you don't let them. i still haven't gotten to play any other sonic games, but im happy with that. im more of a comics fan at this point anyways (plus those are a lot more accessible to a mf who's couch surfing), and i love following along with people's playthroughs. but even with that, sonic unleashed really does deserve the world, it was pretty ballsy to change the gameplay so much with both the daytime and the werehog levels- ESPECIALLY the werehog levels, since you're still sonic, meaning your expectations are the usual high speed chaos. and, again, i just love this game's story. they made some big changes while also nailing their characters and what makes the sonic franchise so infectiously charming. ill always love my memories with this game, messy parts and all, because it's sonic. if i were to ever get a game on console again, it'd definitely be unleashed. thank you for this video man, it was great :]
Sonic Unleashed was my first proper Sonic game and despite having played other games too, it’s still my top favorite! It was such an enjoyable experience and was easy enough for me to play despite growing up very sick. It helped me out a ton throughout my childhood! Honestly, I think Generations is the only game I’ve also played that gets remotely close to the brilliance of Unleashed. If the graphics of Generations was better, and had Jason Griffith voicing Sonic, I think it would be just as good!! I hope you’re doing well! Have an awesome week, fam!
When I first played this game, I hated the Werehog Stages but as I leveled up Werehog Sonic, I came to fall in love with those stages. Now I have no complaints about this game and it still hails as one of the best Sonic games I have ever played. This needs to be remastered for sure.
cant be remastered cause of the main theme Endless Possibilities. Endless Possibilities was co written by Jaret Reddick and Tomoya Ohtani. This can be found on Reddicks ASCAP page where he is credited as a writer. (unless your talking about the Xbox series X version)
@@ViloxionIt was rereleased in their anniversary album with Nate as the singer so I’m pretty sure they can use his version of it if there is ever going to be a remake
@@imliterallyadachi Didn't Sega lose the files for the Hedgehog Engine 1? The hedgehog engine 2 doesn't have support for the Werehog so the consensus for what i remember a remaster(or at least a PC port) was impossible.
I could never see sonic unleashed as a bad game. I've read alot alot of people's reaction to both the boost stages and the warehog stages and they're were overall impressed even if they were not a big fan of the warehog stages. The warehog stages is overall easy in my opinion, but longer to newer players (though if you were to 100% the game you're forced to rush the stages). Like I've played many sonic games and I could easily say that some of the levels in unleashed is the best team sonic have ever have done, but holy... some of the stages require some extreme precision to gain S rank compared to some of the older and newer games.
Sonic Unleashed definitely has highs and lows, but the highs greatly outweigh the lows in my opinion. Everything from the world and level design to the music is phenomenal. It was clear Sonic Team had put a lot of care into Unleashed. Too bad all that hard work would go unappreciated until several years later. Sonic Unleashed has earned the right of being called my favorite Sonic game of all time. Heck, I even like the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed. While it’s definitely nowhere near as good as the normal game, it’s still a solid experience in my opinion.
A youtuber mentioned how she loved that Sonic sounds like he's genuinely having so much fun when he's running that he can't contain himself and is cheering through the level. This is perfect Sonic writing and I miss that as future games really make him sound like he is having zero fun, which by extension makes the person playing have less fun
Unleashed is the one Sonic game that truly feels like a Triple A experience. It’s always been my favorite. Sonic’s character was perfect. The soundtrack was perfect, arguably the best OST in the series. The boss battles were amazing. The opening cinematic is the best one in the entire franchise. They put so much effort into this game that even the npc’s have character development. The passion that was put into this game has yet to be matched. Unleashed will always be the best Sonic game in my eyes. I hope we get another Sonic game with this much love poured into every detail. The Werehog was never inherently bad either. People originally hated it because people wrote off the idea of moving slower in a Sonic game, but if you level up & use him correctly you can actually get through the levels pretty quickly. Werehog had some of the best bosses in the series & does a good job emulating the God of War gameplay it was inspired by.
@@SleepyJohannes Sure. I respect your opinion. But there’s no way you can tell me with a straight face that Egg Dragoon was lame. I refuse to believe it. Shi was hype even for those who hated the Werehog.
This was my reentry into the world of Sonic. I haven't even played a Sonic game since 3&K and haven't heard of one since 3&K and just kinda figured in my head that a Sonic game or two existed for the Dreamcast, but I never owned a Dreamcast and never really cared to research farther. Never heard of of 06 or anything else before I just happened to be at a buddy's house and Sonic Unleashed was sitting on top of something. I picked it up, asked him if it was any good and asked him if I could borrow it. I loved it. The day levels wear full of the memorization that the genesis games tried to promote. The night levels wear great for someone like me that never owned a God of War game. I just thought it was a great blend of two games in one package. Story kinda lacks, but meh. I'm the same guy that can care less about Bi Han and Hanzo Hasashi. I just wanted wanted to see Sub-Zero and Scorpion beat the hell out of each other with some bloody fatalities. So the story of Professor Pickle and Chip being kinda weak never really bothered me. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that I'm sure a lot of players hit the same road block at the same point in the game. Adabat island getting into the last day level. I'm pretty sure most players got stuck at that same spot and needed to back track through levels and maybe even use guides to find the sun medals needed to simply get into the level. Once I owned it myself I also noticed that it becomes kinda grindy if you're looking to 100% it and go for good times on speedruns. Which in turn turns the God of War levels to get repetitive and feel boring. All in all since it was MY first experience with The Blue Blur on the plain of the third dimension I was instantly impressed and in love until familiarity began to breed contempt. Knee jerk reaction: 10/10. Now that time has passed and I've beaten it about 4-5 times throughout the years: 6.5/10.
I genuinely love Sonic Unleashed. It's my number 1ne favourite game of all time. I will admit that it's not perfect. The Sun/Moon medal, some Werehog/day-time stages go on for a little too long, but the gameplay is amazing (even the werehog is kinda fun). The music is beautifully orchestrated & I love world-traveling design. I think "its the diamond in the rough" in the Sonic series. I would love a remastered of it.
I agree with everything here. Unleashed is probably my favorite game PERIOD. That being said empire city night can get bent over a bathtub and completely fucked. I took longer on that stage than eggmanland my first time playing the game
I actually had fun with the Werehog levels. There were a couple times that the length of them made me have to take a break after, but I really think the hate against Unleashed because of this play style is overblown. I do understand that there's an unbalanced amount of these levels (and again, they're long) but think about how much level goes into the daytime stages and how short they were. This was the game's way of making itself a bit longer because the daytime levels could not last long enough.
When I heared back then, that the werewolf mythology will be used in a Sonnic game, it blew me away. in the same way goes the legendary promo movie Night of the Werehog. I just love unleashed (PS 2 and PS3) even if Eggmanlad is probably THE HARDEST LEVEL in Sonics history. I wish for that the vampire mythology could be used for a new Shadow OR Silvers own solo game.
sonic unleashed was one of my very first sonic game, and I loved it so much, the art direction is the one i want for sonic, not too cartonish and not too realistic, even if the night levels were not appreciated, I quite liked them. And the days levels are stillf my favorites of any sonic games
The only ONLY bad thing about sonic unleashed was the werehog battle theme and id still give the game a 20/10 omg this game did NOT deserve those bs reviews it was the only sonic game that made me feel like "my god this needs a sequel" i have never thought of that like no sonic game made me think this i swear bro beautiful game im actually asonished that sega hasnt made a sonic unleashed 2 it deserves it
15 years later, and yet the 3D cutscenes themeselves still hits hard up until this day. I'm like, how did a Sonic game in the early 2000s manage to create an amazing sequel like this? Sonic Unleahed is definitely a game and a movie at the same time.
Genuinely a trip, I just replayed it and everything hits so hard and I’m unbelievably great full frontiers is recapturing what made Sonic so magical to me
Honestly though... The werehog _could_ have been GREAT if the levels were speed based like Sonic is supposed to be. Just IMAGINE Werehog Sonic using his stretchy limbs to parkour through levels like freaking Spiderman!
In my opinion this is the best sonic game, it's always been my favourite. And it has the best soundtrack; every time there is the scene in Adabat where Chip tell Sonic about his true identity with "No reason" as background music, it gets me emotional every time 😍
My personal issue with the werehog isn't that it plays slower than daytime stages but rather that it plays for 15 minutes while also being slower. I can play discount DMC with bonus block sliding, but would rather have it be for a few minutes at a time than upwards of 10 minutes. That being said, I agree with you that the daytime stages are pretty much the best of Sonic, with the only thing coming close being Generations modern Sonic stages. Those games understand that the boost works best as a bonus speed reward for players who know stages well enough to not instantly fly off the edge when boosting, rather than the button you hold to win in something like Forces or the "actually move at regular Sonic speed" button it is in Frontiers. It's like how in the Genesis games your reward for knowing the levels is being able to move fast, but instead of starting at a regular pace, you're already running fast, and you're rewarded by going even faster. The only other hiccup for me is the medals, but if you're using TOTALLY LEGITIMATE means to play your TOTALLY NORMAL copy of Unleashed you can maybe take a trip over to GameBanana to find a workaround or two.
This is my eighth favorite game of all time. I 100% it, played it countless times, etc. Its sad to me that people dont play this game JUST because of the negative parts. I wish it was more respected...
The nostalgia I have for this game can't be explained, I still remember being 6 in 2014 playing windmill isle act 2 over and over again because I just loved the music so much, best game oat, 10 years later this game is still an absolute blast, I'm just glad my PS3 still works yk 💀
Unleashed is a 10/10 for me. It’s my 2nd favorite 3D Sonic game, after Generations. Even with the Werehog nonsense, I still think Unleashed is one of the best Sonic games, gameplay wise, music wise, animation wise, what have you
Sonic Unleashed is peak Sonic in so many areas. Story, graphics, music, characters, bosses, and day stages are the best gameplay in the series. While I am a werehog defender, I will admit it comes nowhere near the highs of the day stages. Regardless, Unleashed is still my fav Sonic game
In My Opinion I Like The Werehog Stages Than The Sonic Stages. Being My First Sonic Game May Make Me A Bit Biased But I Would Give It 10/10 Even Though The Medals Were Annoying. The Werehog Concept Is An Awesome One At That And I Wish They Can Make A Game Or Comic About When Dark Gaia And Chip Wake Up With Sonic Reuniting With Chip.
Yes to everything you said, this game is one of my top 5 Sonic games of all time, after Sonic 2, 3&K, Adventure 1 and 2. Getting Platinum was a huge challenge, especially at the hot dog trailer in EggmanLand, there were some frustrating moments but overall I had a lot of fun with the game.
the biggest crime against this game is them using the generations version of rooftop run over the actual original version of the song in super smash bros. the only sonic unleashed song in ssb isnt even credited as being from sonic unleashed.
Sonic unleashed deserves all the love it gets right now By far my fav Sonic game of all time even loved it the first time I played it Honestly I would say that the were hog sometimes is just as fun as modern Sonic. Most of the time modern Sonic is more fun but I really like the werehog (WITH A LOT OF COMBOS) NOT LEVEL 1 LOL
Its a great game for sure, the only issues in the game are the required medal collecting and the INSANE difficulty spikes in the night levels after the first few stages. And also eggmanland + the final boss (excluding egg dragoon and the super sonic phase), those ones are self explanatory
That difficulty spike is mitigated if you play a specific way. If you want the werehog levels to be easier you need to: 1 - The second you complete a main level, do all 9 Hot Dog missions to the best of your ability 2 - Do every sidequest and secondary mission you can access as soon as it's available 3 - Level the Werehog in this order; 2 Combat, 1 Strength, 1 Life, 2 Combat, 1 Strength, 1 Unleash, 2 Combat, 1 Strength, 1 Unleash, 2 Combat, 1 Strength, 1 Life, repeat until max, then upgrade Shield. Because genuinely the only usage Shield has is to do the Special Attack dodge and Special Arial attacks. Also occasionally blocking hits in Survival challenges. 4 - Only level the Hedgehog with xp from the non-challenge daytime stages. He really doesn't need much. Daytime levels are more about precision than speed.
I think you did a great job in summarising and reviewing unleashed. I think that this game got a notorious bad reputation from ign which it never recovered from even today sega wont reboot/remaster it because they think that people hate it and it won't sell. While in truth this is the sonic game with the best day time stages, music, story ,hub , atmosphere/scenery,... Even if you hate the werehog, which imo can be a lot of fun aswell the replay ability after completing everything is amazing and so easy. A very underrated game which I wish they would remaster or port to ps5( or pc )
The night stages are a couple of fixes away from being a solid action game: - reduce the amout of locked arenas and instead make the incentive to kill smaller enemies a higher score - make the small qtes against eggman bots quicker or remove them altogether - increase werehog sonic's running speed - make attacking from a running position do extra damage - implement a mechanic where the more varied your combos are the higher your damage is do to make clearing stages faster for skilled players - better tutorials for special moves because they can save you a lot of time if employed right - all of this means the times for S and A ranks should be reduced to match the quicker pace - and save the fighting music for the couple of big encounters that aren't bosses in the levels (the ones where you should keep the barriers), it's actually not a bad theme if you listen to its own - finally make stuff like mixing up your combos and achieving S Ranks give you more EXP because the Werehog is a slog to max out All of this can be achieved through small mods if Sega ever decides to release the game on PC as for the day the only thing I'd tweak is making the drift work like in Sonic Generations. Unleashed would legitimately overtake Generations as the best boost game with a couple of small tweaks, the music is better, the stages don't rely on nostalgia and you'd elevate the werehog stages from a ok kids' brawler to a pretty decent action game with a high-ish skill ceiling .
Attacking from a running position already does more damage. The dash jump Y attack one shots most bosses and the dash Y attack cleaves through enemies in 2-3 hits. You get them around combat level 22
I have a lot o fun with this game back in the day, mostly the night stages in the ps2 version along with the soundtracks and boy i would just stop and vibe to then , this game has a special place in my heart it has its flaws but it was quite enjoyable.
Hot take: Eggmanland is one of the best stages in the series. Especially when you learn to speed through it. I remember trying to speedrun the level (without glitches) sometime last year and the fastest time I got was 10 minutes and 55 seconds
I have a feeling that this game being severely misunderstood and treated horribly by reviewers is what killed the franchise. It's like the last time sega cared
Sega is literally incapable of remastering a game that polished. That's why they outsource even remasters, and their own games are janky and unpolished still. (Don't even try saying Frontiers is polished)
To be honest the story is what really gets me about sonic unleashed and the concept of the werehog is just soo cool to me! The story was really what engraved the game into my memory and I played (watched my brother play it) when I was like 5! And now like 7 years later I so badly wanna play it again
Honestly I really loved Unleashed. The fun boosting gameplay of the daytime stages and the beat em up gameplay of the nighttime stages. The only thing I didn’t like was the sun and moon medal progression lock. That was my only issue with the game. Considering how Unleashed could be the next remaster SEGA does if Sonic X Shadow Generations ends up being well received, I hope that’s the biggest change.
i’m five months late but fuck it, this game holds so much weight for me cause it genuinely feels like the last sonic game where Sonic Team was putting the last 15 years they had with the character into a bottle with new ideas, and let their passion flourish, it’s a beautifully flawed game, top 1 for me personally. Nice video btw man this is exactly how i felt lol 🙏🏾
man i loved the night stages a ton + my collector brain always wanted all medals anyway so i didnt even know this was a thing people could complain about until i saw reviews of the game. OMG THOUGH when i did the tails tornado missions on xbox i almost quit completely since i was a PS and Nintendo player so those XYAB quicktime events were total hell on xbox
this is just my take on it, for me the Wherehog was pretty good, the issue with the Wherehog was never the combat, the combat was pretty good, simple yet satisfying and the long stretchy arms allowed for some very creative combos and fight moves and it made sonic look lot stronger physically making his strength feats believable in that game, and the bosses where pretty good as well, the issue was the music being the same soundtrack over and over again and compaired to the rest of the soundtrack that was very good it made the Wherehog stages feel a disappointing music wise and the length of the missions as well as having to get medals to get to the next stage, alos you hade to upgrade the Werehoga bit before getting the more interesting combos, hade the Werehog missions been shorter, offered more variety in music and hade a few more combos, it would have completed the day time stages a lot better and been a much more effective change of pace to keep the game fresh, Despite it's flaws and it could have been implemented better, i think the Werehog was underappreciated and got an unfair amount of hate, personally, i really like the Werehog stages, finding it unique, and fun and the platforming was not to bad either, but i understand why some would not like it, it a flawed masterpiece for me, it is one of the most polarizing games in the series but i think that now many years after peapol are looking back at it alot more fondly despite it flaws and have given it a second look and seem to appreciate it more, let not forget that the early 2000s it was popular to hate on sonic and i believe alot of peapol exaggerated how bad and flawed some of the games where and it only now peapol are looking back with and are giving the games a second chance, which has lead to a bit of a renaissance for the sonic games from the 2000s and 2010s, there is overall a lot more diffrent views now than it was before on the sonic games of the 2000s and 2010s
I’ve never played Unleashed (mostly because I don’t have the appropriate console especially XBox), but seeing walkthroughs of the game is really eye-catching. IMO this game is the GOAT of the entire franchise because of how the boost is implemented into becoming one of Sonic’s greatest arsenals for future games. The daytime stages really capture that sense of speed when playing as Sonic the Hedgehog with awesome graphics as you progress through the stage and I don’t mind if they’re long because of this. Additionally, the many obstacles he encounters as he runs through every stage represent great challenges that may halt Sonic in running at top speed, such as the falling icicles in Cool Edge or the crumbling ruins in Jungle Joyride. Alas, his movements are slippery but thankfully they fixed it in Generations. As for the nighttime stages, since Sonic the Werehog moves at a much slower pace than his Hedgehog counterpart, it’s a bit of a shame that we don’t see him run at the speed of sound. But what he lacks in speed, he makes up for it in combat. Honestly, I prefer the Werehog combat moves over the Frontiers combat since they’re more diverse and not purely for aesthetics. If SEGA were to remaster this masterpiece, they should use a skill tree like in Frontiers rather than those painstaking upgrades, at least for the Werehog stages. And the many collectibles you can gather in the nighttime stages are very rewarding. Overall, for a 3D Sonic game which incorporates the boost formula for the first time, Sonic Unleashed is truly a masterpiece in how Sonic is defined as the hedgehog running at the speed of sound. I wish that could have used this for the Hedgehog Engine 2, since Frontiers and especially Forces are embarrassment to Sonic’s legacy, but I guess we shall see if future games will bring back the good old days.
People like you are my inspiration man. I’m trying to start doing let’s plays and hope my commentary can become as confident as yours is. I noticed in my first video I was saying alot of ‘ums’ ‘whats it called’ and just general pauses. And I get that your videos have more editing but I hope I can atleast improve to your level soon. Sorry for the long comment.
As someone who never played this game before (actually, i did play the Wii/PS2 version but i wanted to experience this one too), all i want is for this to be ported to modern hardware. This one or Generations, i haven't played both and I don't have a PC.
Sonic Unleashed is definitely a great game and Sonic Unleashed has such a good story. The trailers for the game was epic and the one problem that I don’t like about the game is the Werehog. The boost in Sonic Unleashed is epic. The opening Cutscene is the best opening cutscene we have ever seen and I love the Opening Cutscene. Sonic Unleashed is a good game but it’s not my favorite Game of all time. While always great video SF Productions)
I love Unleashed so much. Definitely top 3 favorite games ever. It seems like the only Sonic game that maxed out the potential of the mechanics introduced (which is sad since it’s the first boost game). The DLC levels, extra acts, and main acts seriously touch everything they could do. I love how creative they got with many levels especially the night time levels I love everything about it because I’ve gotten so good at it lol a remaster with a couple tweaks to Werehog and progression could make a lot of haters reconsider. Hope we can get an amazing remaster one day.
This is not only my favorite Sonic game but my second favorite game of all time, I know this game has it's issues ( like any other game ) but what this game does right is incredible, and say what you want I actually really like the werehog.
The same people who complain about the Werehog and say this game is bad, are the same people who complain about the Mech and Treasure Hunting Stages in SA2 and say that SA2 is still a masterpiece. Sure, in terms of the speed stages, story and Shadow, the game is great. But I'd say that as a whole, Unleashed is a WAY better experience as the Werehog is a lot more polished and fun than the clunky ass mech stages and the frustrating as hell treasure stages. (I genuinely think that Mad Space is THE WORST level in the entire Sonic series)
Your views on Unleashed pretty much depend on, do you like the Werehog? The day stages are fun, but the night stages are half of the game. Probably more than that on a first playthrough, but even still night stages are usually longer than day ones. If you don't and can't tolerate it, you probably don't like Unleashed. If you don't and can tolerate it, then its probably just ok. If you do like it or even love it then you'll probably view the game a lot more highly than the other 2 people.
I think the only reason people don’t like the werehog is just because of the upgrading, when playing with the (werehog fury?, su deleveled?) mod (I can’t remember which one does what) and then the werehog and daytime stages felt evenly balanced, it fixed every single problem
Never heard anyone amongst critics claim s3k, Mania, or Sonic 2 was mediocre... As for Unleashed, it suffers the Sonic adventure syndrome, good parts sharing the spotlight with bad, or at least unwanted parts. Sure, it's not as bad as the likes of sa2, but falls short compared to the likes of Generations, and even Colours. The criticism towards the werehog is a bit strange, and is just as valid to other beat em up games the werehog gameplay was inspired by like God of war or devil may cry, bayonetta, etc, all of them start you off weak and limited having you unlock more moves as the game progresses. Also, not having to do specific combos or attacks in order to defeat enemies is honestly a good thing. Gives the players more options, and doesn't needlessly gatekeep progression.
As a kid I never felt like this was a bad game. Since playing this with my dad on xbox 360 and not getting past eggman land to last year when I finished the game for the first time it's still an incredible game. I enjoyed the werehog stages a lot
Sonic Unleashed is my 4th favorite 3D title and 6th favorite in terms of mainline Sonic. Although I prefer Generations boost levels over the daytime stages, I'll admit that I do like the difficulty in Unleashed compared to Generations.
Sonic Unleashed was one of the first 3d games I've ever played, yet I lived so much considering myself lucky to play it, until I stumbled upon another ver of the game...the "HD" or the Next Gen game, and that was the moment I begged my father to buy me a PS3 along with Sonic Unleashed yet my dad bought Sonic Generations think buying Unleashed is another waste since he already bought for me on PS2, and I explained how it was different from the PS2, so my little brother came in, on my birthday he bought me Unleashed so I had Sonic Unleashed and Generations and it was the best!!! Unleashed was fun to play, rich story (yeah ik it isn't but I'm taking about when I was kid) and great character development for chip how he was after losing his memory and after he restored it, and it was nice gameplay, and the werhog was, yes, slow but it was fun...and the EXP upgrades took me alot of time woow, to me, Sonic Unleashed is a game that pushed me to be a Sonic Fun for today and that's why I love it!!!
If it ever gets remastered, they definitely should remove the medal requirements for story progression; and let the werehog start most its combos at least.
I remember the first time I saw Sonic Unleashed at a friend's house back in 2010-ish, saw the opening cutscene and saw the first Daytime level and thought "They finally perfected Sonic!"
I think all Sonic needs is just pure boost gameplay without any extra gimmicks, like the Rush trilogy. A 3D boost title that has a plot on par with unleashed, a great cast of character like gens, and amazing level design would be THE Sonic game of all time.
Sonic unleashed is my first sonic game or generations was, tbh I don't remember. Anyways, Unleashed is just a great game for me, i enjoy the werehog stages, the story, the damn soundtrack is fucking awesome and I don't mind the mental hunting that much, even though as a kid I didn't know english and it made everything super difficult for me. But my only issue with this game is... Dark Gaia. It's meant to be a planetary threat that's super powerful and yet the boss fight is... Very underwhelming. I expected more from dark Gaia and super sonic, but a side from that, this game is my personal favorite sonic game that o have ever played... Witch will probably change of I ever play frontiers
I think that day and night stages just don't work together, that's the main problem of the game cause the werehog itself it actually pretty good and interesting I think, just not for a sonic game
"The Werehog takes up most of the play time" *Game has 6 Day stages, 6 Night Stages & 1 Hybrid stage (Eggmanland)* Bruh Also one complaint about the Boost formula that I absolutely despise is "It's just press X/ Square to win" when that's not even close to true. Yes, the boost allows you to instantly shoot up to top speed, but the Boost games place greater challenge in maintaining that speed, like yes, boost lets you gain speed with zero effort, but the skill comes with maintaining that speed as the games are constantly throwing obstacles at you meant to slow you down so you have to overcome those obstacles in order to maintain that speed
Unwiished is my golden boi as a...well, ex-fan still(I don't think I will recover from the Final Horizon-situration any time soon) and it wouldn't exist without its bigger sibling, so I more or less owe this game some support by default. I genuinely hope it gets a proper rerelease at some point(Hopefully including the DLCs, even if they aren't all that stellar according to people who played them) instead of only being held above water by backwards compatibility, but the situration of Sega not wanting to put the money and work into making it happen makes it unlikely. 5:01 Which is not even Unleashed's doing, Secret Rings introduced it to mainline(I specify mainline because someone's going to be "this obscure spinoff had it first, fake sonic player"). And man, Secret Rings deserved better than to be tarnished by unfinished controls, it has a lot of good about it, including the actual gameplay challenges(minus that one cannot get the best ranking without speed boost-skills, that will always be dumb). 6:24 "Most". Pretty much just Generations. Colors was a weird hybrid of Unwiished, Unleashed's continuous boost and a lot of awkward plattforming. Lost World is a good game, but it has 0 things to do with the boost and Forces took more details from Colors than the other Boost games. 6:40 See, this is the reason why I am on the "Colors ruined it and wasted the chance"-train. Had they just given us exclusively Unwiished-style levels, then the game would actually be legendary because it is a winning formula. I like the many, many werehog stages because they are responsible for it being a world adventure(Going from greek ruins to an ice temple and then to the long struggle below Eggmanland just hits diffrent), but it is not exactly the most aligned with what people want from a Sonic boost game, especially because the Unwiished combat is...samey. But in the end, the only actually thrilling level to play that we got was Terminal Velocity Act 1...which is just a straight line comprised of two quickstep-sections. (And before anyone says anything of the sort, I have nothing against plattforming-focussed Sonic games. Give me Advance 1 or Sonic 3 any time of the day. But the controls of a Boost game are inheritly more slippery and imprecise to work with the higher speed expected, which makes this a really bad mismatch. The game and the game's framework work against each other.)
Words can't explain how special this game is to me seriously they can't it has a astronomically huge impact on my life with it being the first sonic game I played throughout by my self. It's a super important game to me and my childhood and helped mold the person I am today much love to sonic unleashed. One if my most beloved games I've ever played and experienced
Unleashed is my favorite Sonic game and I started playing the franchise as 6 year old kid back in the 90’s with Sonic 1. I have felt that Sonic Team should remake Sonic 3 & Knuckles into a “ 3D “ game with this level of production. I mean reeeeaaally give it the “Unleashed“ treatment and flesh out the story .
Try not to use the boost button so much. Use it when its necessary. Makes playing the game more fun in my opinion. You also get more of a feel of Sonic's running movement not boosting and surprisingly it feels better than in Colors and Generations. Sonic felt kinda heavy to control in Generations
This is my favorite game of all time. I 100% agree with this. I will agree that Werehog isn't as fun or robust as the day stages, but it's still a very great game. The medals are just a tad annoting, but that's not a big deal. Lots of great places to see. Werehog is lots of fun to master just right. The music, though this really goes for almost all Sonic games, absolutely slaps. And the story of this game is banger. And the final level is very hard yet very fun. Please SEGA, gimme this game on PC! PLEASE! (And Sonic definitely should've kept that wristband for future games.)
I had a real “Get good” experience with Unleashed. I loved it as a kid but hated getting those medals and wearhog. But on the revisit years later, I come back to it only to find out Unleashed had momentum tricks and guard cancels 🔥. Best Sonic game imo. Eggman Land is the best final level in the series.
I can repeat the endless praise for the graphics being ahead of their time and the tight gameplay, but people truly forget how special this game was back then. Sega financially was at their lowest and this game made a difference for them despite the bad reviews. I remember being 15 years old back then getting angry at game reviewers because it wasn't a broken game and controlled fine. This was when people were still memeing Sonic 2006 and Shadow the Hedgehog ( a game I like) and hating on Sonic was the politically correct thing to do. Even a boring game like Sonic Forces doesn't have the notoriety Sonic games from the late 2000s had.
Funnily enough i have an odd history with this one I got the ps2 version for my birthday when i was like 4 And i loved it and i do to this very day tbh And for the longest time i thought the ps2/wii version was the same as ps3/360 version So it kinda sucked seeing people hate it when i was younger.. I was like "but... Why don't people like the werehog?" Until people were praising it and despite being a teenager i still thought they were the same game until i learnt they weren't And the positivity of this game started to get on my nerves So i started hating despite not playing it Until like a month ago where i played it and OH BOY ITS GREAT I still think the positivity is a LITTLE too much tho And before i get into my thoughts Is the footage used emulated? Like the visuals look ungodly different Anyways A mini review The story is peak sonic.. Might be biased tho.. Because it was my first sonic game (the ps2 one which has the same story) The music is some of the best in the series.. Probably my second favorite ost tbh NO SONIC OST TOUCHING COLORS THO. COLORS OST IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥 the visuals are They are good for the 360...but man gens AND forces look better especially if you look very closely at the textures the environments are nice tho shamar reminds me of my country which idk because i never feel it I'II give a positive note despite housing my 2 least favorite stages.... the boss and act 2 (arid sand day act 2) were great tho! and lastly the 2 play styles the boost is my favorite gameplay style HOWEVER unlike the video i ain't gonna say this is the boost at its peak first the controls here are ASS bro fucking ASS.. Holy fuck colors and gens solo this game's control man and the level design can feel overly linear at times unlike gens and SOME colors stages and even SOME forces stages which feel more open ended Tho the boost is still my favorite gameplay style (not including the 4 rush games FUCK THOSE GAMES MAN) so i still enjoy many things here such as the length...while colors stages were usually over a minute and gens were usually over 2 minutes.... fuck forces... unleashed stages are massive in length with Eggmanland reaching 10-15 MINUTES! or welp the best i can do... sure someone can beat it faster and plus the speed here is SO FAST this is the fastest boost which I'II praise it for that Tho the ranking system is as always... really easy just don't die and get the goodies... like all the other boost games unfortunately The werehog.... i like it yeah the stages can feel lame at times but i enjoy the combat and platforming and music AND THE CONTROLS DUDE THE WEREHOG CONTROLS LIKE BUTTER MAN HOLY SHIT HE FEELS SO GOOD MAN Tho it is my least favorite gameplay style i enjoy Plenty of his stages tho like for example Jungle joyride night act 1 dragon road night act 2 Windmill isle night act 2 cool edge night act 1 Eggmanland (perfer the night section TO the day ones tbh) one thing to say tho is the 100% completion which dear God it's NOT PLEASANT AT ALL... when I'm done 100% thing game I need to be put in a hospital tbh i wouldn't say it's a masterpiece but a low S tier is fitting for this game while it's not reaching my top 3 (sa2 and gens and colors) it provides me with some of the most fun with the entire series Colors still solos it tho COLORS IS PEAK!
0:22 to 0:27 To be fair, when was the last time critics had an opinion that wasn't biased, unprofessional, and based on dumb reasons. If there's one thing critics have never been, it's smart.
Well I'm surprised no one talks about the SD Version of Sonic Unleashed. Which is fair because it was released on the Wii and PS2. Tbh, Sonic Unleashed can be amazing if you take the mechanics of both the SD and HD Versions and combine them into one big Sonic Unleashed Game. I'm definitely making sure to make a video on it
If you think about it, it's not really logical for sonic to tranform mid mission, unless he is in day form, and he crosses the day/night threshold while running. Like the stages are based on real life earth. So how would it be possible to swap from day to night and vice versa randomly
honestly i wished either that 1. the werehog had all combos and more from the start. as a ninja gaiden fan im accustomed to fast and fluid action with endless possibilities (heh), but the werehog feels like the complete opposite. it feels slippery and off, which is a bit annoying. 2. the werehog parts of the game were separated and 2 more daytime areas were added with a slight story change to make it a short but fun and replayable game. THEN, with the werehog levels, make a knuckes game with all the improvements i stated above. idk, if i could have a pure unleashed mmmm
Honestly I'd hate that. The daytime were my least favorite, mainly the stupid secondary challenge stages. I waste 25 lives on the Holoska and Adabat ones every playthrough. And the daytime sidequests are literal hell to play, mainly the final Shamar sisters one. It takes me 3 days to beat it. I don't want more. They are the hardest things in the game.
Unleash would honestly benefit from a remaster that fixes the issues of both day time and night time stages and incorperate elements from the wii/ps2 version like gaia temple stages. It feels like a damn waste that this game is relegated to being only on 6th and 7th gen consoles
Sonic unleashed was a masterpiece, I loved the gameplay mechanics, the werehog gameplay is not perfect but is fun slashing enemies, the boost feature is op because you can travel at fast speed and you cam feel it, the Level design is creative (my favourite levels are Windmill Isle & Jungle Joyride) & the soundtrack is lovely it often fits the atmosphere. Overall sonic unleashed is a good game and I hope it gets a HD remaster someday.
@@SFproductions1 I really enjoyed the Werehog since the first level, it's a really nice pacebreaker for me. It's like two games for the price of one, and I absolutely loved it
I know this is months ago but I would just like to say, I really really like and enjoy Sonic unleashed, one of the top 5 favorites, it does has its flawed moments but I still enjoy it. IMO, I didn’t really mind the werehog, I understand they’re very long but I still didn’t mind. But I do have one complaint. Finding the sun & moon Metals. That’s all, but they really need to have a remake or a remaster with this game
I honestly don't know how Wearhog Sonic is bad thing to me that's one of my favorite things about the game. His design is badass and legit. I understand that Sonic is based on constant running, but at least they didn't went to the point of transforming this game into a complete Action game. I like Sonic Unleashed as much as I like Sonic Adventures 2, Colours and Frontiers, I do consider Unleashed to be the weakest of the four, but people saying that it's the WORSE Sonic game is a little bit too much to me.
Theres 4 ppl in this game.. Ign: argh too hard whats a werehog blah blah blah Hard but nice: i like this game for its diffuiculty The pro: great game i love every part.. even the eggmanland 🥴 Speedrunner: 😎🤘
Sonic Unleashed is one of the only Sonic Games that actually feel complete in every aspect
It had its issue but I totally agree

I love how people here just tell everyone abt their feelings so open in this comment section. I feel like the society is healing.

Hell yeah
Wii dev team also made sure not to let us down
The wii version was better imo, it fixed all the problems the original had
A youtuber mentioned how she loved that Sonic sounds like he's genuinely having so much fun when he's running that he can't contain himself and is cheering through the level. This is perfect Sonic writing and I miss that as future games really make him sound like he is having zero fun, which by extension makes the person playing have less fun
This is something I just realized that makes me love this game even more 😭
Unleashed is the one Sonic game that truly feels like a Triple A experience.
I thought people hated the Werehog because it has like Wolf Link.
Sonic Unleashed made the craziest 180 ever.
The inclusion of the werehog makes a bit more sense when you consider this was around the time that god of war got really popular
To be honest I wish they made a game like unleashed but without werehog and medals
My guy called the Chinese Phoenix a dragon
My fault gang
The only ONLY bad thing about sonic unleashed was the werehog battle theme and id still give the game a 20/10 omg this game did NOT deserve those bs reviews it was the only sonic game that made me feel like "my god this needs a sequel" i have never thought of that like no sonic game made me think this i swear bro beautiful game im actually asonished that sega hasnt made a sonic unleashed 2 it deserves it
The werehog battle theme is pure horror 😭😭😭 I enjoy the werehog gameplay but that theme makes the levels so unbearable
@@sonicrules4293 I can agree with that wish they made a unique soundtrack for it in different countries

And it has the best soundtrack; every time there is the scene in Adabat where Chip tell Sonic about his true identity with "No reason" as background music, it gets me emotional every time 😍
I love that cutscene. It reminds me of Link and Midna.
It's my second favorite game of all time right behind Resident Evil 4
Sonic unleashed deserves all the love it gets right now
By far my fav Sonic game of all time even loved it the first time I played it
Honestly I would say that the were hog sometimes is just as fun as modern Sonic. Most of the time modern Sonic is more fun but I really like the werehog
(WITH A LOT OF COMBOS) NOT LEVEL 1 LOL
Its a great game for sure, the only issues in the game are the required medal collecting and the INSANE difficulty spikes in the night levels after the first few stages. And also eggmanland + the final boss (excluding egg dragoon and the super sonic phase), those ones are self explanatory
That difficulty spike is mitigated if you play a specific way. If you want the werehog levels to be easier you need to:
1 - The second you complete a main level, do all 9 Hot Dog missions to the best of your ability
2 - Do every sidequest and secondary mission you can access as soon as it's available
3 - Level the Werehog in this order; 2 Combat, 1 Strength, 1 Life, 2 Combat, 1 Strength, 1 Unleash, 2 Combat, 1 Strength, 1 Unleash, 2 Combat, 1 Strength, 1 Life, repeat until max, then upgrade Shield.
Sonic unleashed came out a month after I was born
That's cool
I think you did a great job in summarising and reviewing unleashed. I think that this game got a notorious bad reputation from ign which it never recovered from even today sega wont reboot/remaster it because they think that people hate it and it won't sell.
While in truth this is the sonic game with the best day time stages, music, story ,hub , atmosphere/scenery,... Even if you hate the werehog, which imo can be a lot of fun aswell the replay ability after completing everything is amazing and so easy. A very underrated game which I wish they would remaster or port to ps5( or pc )
The night stages are a couple of fixes away from being a solid action game:
- reduce the amout of locked arenas and instead make the incentive to kill smaller enemies a higher score
- make the small qtes against eggman bots quicker or remove them altogether
- increase werehog sonic's running speed
- make attacking from a running position do extra damage
- implement a mechanic where the more varied your combos are the higher your damage is do to make clearing stages faster for skilled players
- better tutorials for special moves because they can save you a lot of time if employed right
- all of this means the times for S and A ranks should be reduced to match the quicker pace
- and save the fighting music for the couple of big encounters that aren't bosses in the levels (the ones where you should keep the barriers), it's actually not a bad theme if you listen to its own
- finally make stuff like mixing up your combos and achieving S Ranks give you more EXP because the Werehog is a slog to max out
All of this can be achieved through small mods if Sega ever decides to release the game on PC
as for the day the only thing I'd tweak is making the drift work like in Sonic Generations.
Unleashed would legitimately overtake Generations as the best boost game with a couple of small tweaks, the music is better, the stages don't rely on nostalgia and you'd elevate the werehog stages from a ok kids' brawler to a pretty decent action game with a high-ish skill ceiling .
That is NOT a couple
@@headlessrival7218 it's mostly small changes and HHM scripts though
Attacking from a running position already does more damage. The dash jump Y attack one shots most bosses and the dash Y attack cleaves through enemies in 2-3 hits. You get them around combat level 22
I have a lot o fun with this game back in the day, mostly the night stages in the ps2 version along with the soundtracks and boy i would just stop and vibe to then , this game has a special place in my heart it has its flaws but it was quite enjoyable.
Hot take: Eggmanland is one of the best stages in the series. Especially when you learn to speed through it. I remember trying to speedrun the level (without glitches) sometime last year and the fastest time I got was 10 minutes and 55 seconds
eggmanland is what i wish every sonic stage ever to be. give me a game with 10 of those stages and my god i wont be able to choose a favourite
That is one hell of a SPICY take
Sonic Unleashed is my favourite video game EVER and yesterday i managed to beat it!
Whenever I play the game, I never intend to play as werehog. But whenever I play werehog stages I really enjoy it very much, it's so fun 🤩
OMG THOUGH when i did the tails tornado missions on xbox i almost quit completely since i was a PS and Nintendo player so those XYAB quicktime events were total hell on xbox
this is just my take on it, for me the Wherehog was pretty good, the issue with the Wherehog was never the combat, the combat was pretty good, simple yet satisfying and the long stretchy arms allowed for some very creative combos and fight moves and it made sonic look lot stronger physically making his strength feats believable in that game, and the bosses where pretty good as well, the issue was the music being the same soundtrack over and over again and compaired to the rest of the soundtrack that was very good it made the Wherehog stages feel a disappointing music wise and the length of the missions as well as having to get medals to get to the next stage, alos you hade to upgrade the Werehoga bit before getting the more interesting combos, hade the Werehog missions been shorter, offered more variety in music and hade a few more combos, it would have completed the day time stages a lot better and been a much more effective change of pace to keep the game fresh,
Despite it's flaws and it could have been implemented better, i think the Werehog was underappreciated and got an unfair amount of hate, personally, i really like the Werehog stages, finding it unique, and fun and the platforming was not to bad either, but i understand why some would not like it, it a flawed masterpiece for me, it is one of the most polarizing games in the series but i think that now many years after peapol are looking back at it alot more fondly despite it flaws and have given it a second look and seem to appreciate it more, let not forget that the early 2000s it was popular to hate on sonic and i believe alot of peapol exaggerated how bad and flawed some of the games where and it only now peapol are looking back with and are giving the games a second chance, which has lead to a bit of a renaissance for the sonic games from the 2000s and 2010s, there is overall a lot more diffrent views now than it was before on the sonic games of the 2000s and 2010s
Playing recently I realized that Werehog's gameplay is more a question of skill issue, I've never had any problems with it until today

Unleashed is truly the magnum opus of the 2000s Sonic era.
It just takes practice man. My videos were like that at first too
@@SFproductions1i really appreciate this man, can’t express how much that means to me that you said that
@@DDarook no problem bro just keep going you got this
As someone who never played this game before (actually, i did play the Wii/PS2 version but i wanted to experience this one too), all i want is for this to be ported to modern hardware. This one or Generations, i haven't played both and I don't have a PC.
It and Generations are both available on xbox series with a fairly solid 60 fps.
Y…You can play it right now on xbox series. In fact it boosts the frame rate from the old 30fps cap to 60fps.
Thank you!
@@SFproductions1 No problem
I love Unleashed so much. Definitely top 3 favorite games ever. It seems like the only Sonic game that maxed out the potential of the mechanics introduced (which is sad since it’s the first boost game). The DLC levels, extra acts, and main acts seriously touch everything they could do. I love how creative they got with many levels especially the night time levels
I love everything about it because I’ve gotten so good at it lol a remaster with a couple tweaks to Werehog and progression could make a lot of haters reconsider.
SONIC UNLEASHED NEEDS TO BE THE NEXT REMASTERED GAME FROM SEGA SPREAD THE WORD SO IT CAN HAPPEN
If it ever gets remastered, they definitely should remove the medal requirements for story progression; and let the werehog start most its combos at least.
for me its a 10/10. had no issues with the werehog at all even when being low leveled
I remember the first time I saw Sonic Unleashed at a friend's house back in 2010-ish, saw the opening cutscene and saw the first Daytime level and thought "They finally perfected Sonic!"
I'd love an unleashed remaster
Great video!
Sonic Unleashed is what a AAA game should be. This was when AAA games were actually AAA
I think all Sonic needs is just pure boost gameplay without any extra gimmicks, like the Rush trilogy. A 3D boost title that has a plot on par with unleashed, a great cast of character like gens, and amazing level design would be THE Sonic game of all time.
I really like the werehog stages maybe that’s because I’m a big fan of devil may cry and god of war.
I love this game ❤ it’s fantastic
"The Werehog takes up most of the play time" *Game has 6 Day stages, 6 Night Stages & 1 Hybrid stage (Eggmanland)* Bruh
Also one complaint about the Boost formula that I absolutely despise is "It's just press X/ Square to win" when that's not even close to true.
Without a doubt, my favorite Sonic game, and one of my favorite games ever.
Jokes on you the night stages are my favorite part
If this game released today, we wouldn't take it for granted
The DLC is the best part of Sonic Unleashed.
I've said many times and I'll say it again. I believe unleashed is the best sonic game ever, both before and after its release.
Sonic Unleashed is probably my favorite game of all time
Unleashed is my favorite Sonic game and I started playing the franchise as 6 year old kid back in the 90’s with Sonic 1.
Funnily enough i have an odd history with this one
I got the ps2 version for my birthday when i was like 4
And i loved it and i do to this very day tbh
And for the longest time i thought the ps2/wii version was the same as ps3/360 version
So it kinda sucked seeing people hate it when i was younger.. I was like "but... Why don't people like the werehog?"
Until people were praising it and despite being a teenager i still thought they were the same game until i learnt they weren't
And the positivity of this game started to get on my nerves
So i started hating despite not playing it
Until like a month ago where i played it and OH BOY ITS GREAT
I still think the positivity is a LITTLE too much tho
And before i get into my thoughts
Is the footage used emulated? Like the visuals look ungodly different
Anyways
A mini review
The story is peak sonic.. Might be biased tho.. Because it was my first sonic game (the ps2 one which has the same story)
The music is some of the best in the series.. Probably my second favorite ost tbh
NO SONIC OST TOUCHING COLORS THO. COLORS OST IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥
the visuals are
They are good for the 360...but man gens AND forces look better
especially if you look very closely at the textures
the environments are nice tho
shamar reminds me of my country which idk because i never feel it I'II give a positive note despite housing my 2 least favorite stages.... the boss and act 2 (arid sand day act 2) were great tho!
and lastly the 2 play styles
the boost is my favorite gameplay style
HOWEVER unlike the video i ain't gonna say this is the boost at its peak
first the controls here are ASS bro fucking ASS.. Holy fuck colors and gens solo this game's control man
and the level design can feel overly linear at times unlike gens and SOME colors stages and even SOME forces stages which feel more open ended
Tho the boost is still my favorite gameplay style (not including the 4 rush games FUCK THOSE GAMES MAN) so i still enjoy many things here such as the length...while colors stages were usually over a minute and gens were usually over 2 minutes.... fuck forces... unleashed stages are massive in length with Eggmanland reaching 10-15 MINUTES! or welp the best i can do... sure someone can beat it faster
and plus the speed here is SO FAST this is the fastest boost which I'II praise it for that
Tho the ranking system is as always... really easy
just don't die and get the goodies... like all the other boost games unfortunately
The werehog....
i like it
yeah the stages can feel lame at times
but i enjoy the combat and platforming and music
AND THE CONTROLS DUDE THE WEREHOG CONTROLS LIKE BUTTER MAN HOLY SHIT HE FEELS SO GOOD MAN
Tho it is my least favorite gameplay style
i enjoy Plenty of his stages tho
like for example
Jungle joyride night act 1
dragon road night act 2
Windmill isle night act 2
cool edge night act 1
Eggmanland (perfer the night section TO the day ones tbh)
one thing to say tho is the 100% completion which dear God it's NOT PLEASANT AT ALL... when I'm done 100% thing game I need to be put in a hospital tbh
i wouldn't say it's a masterpiece
but a low S tier is fitting for this game
while it's not reaching my top 3 (sa2 and gens and colors) it provides me with some of the most fun with the entire series
Colors still solos it tho
COLORS IS PEAK!
I'm definitely making sure to make a video on it
Unwiished is great and a fanremake is my dream.
i would do anything for this game to get a remaster
Sf what's your favourite Sonic game besides Sonic Unleashed and if Unleashed didn't exist what would be your Sonic game if this Unleashed didn't exist
Frontiers
@@SFproductions1 Really I thought that would be Generations not the 3ds version
If you think about it, it's not really logical for sonic to tranform mid mission, unless he is in day form, and he crosses the day/night threshold while running. Like the stages are based on real life earth. So how would it be possible to swap from day to night and vice versa randomly
honestly i wished either that
1. the werehog had all combos and more from the start. as a ninja gaiden fan im accustomed to fast and fluid action with endless possibilities (heh), but the werehog feels like the complete opposite. it feels slippery and off, which is a bit annoying.
2. the werehog parts of the game were separated and 2 more daytime areas were added with a slight story change to make it a short but fun and replayable game.
They are the hardest things in the game.
did you know werehog stages are good
Unleash would honestly benefit from a remaster that fixes the issues of both day time and night time stages and incorperate elements from the wii/ps2 version like gaia temple stages. It feels like a damn waste that this game is relegated to being only on 6th and 7th gen consoles
That opening cgi cutscene is THE perfect modern characterisation of sonic imo- hasn't been topped to this day
Obviously CGI is better now, but for 2008 that was top of the line CGI and I bet Sega spent 10% of the game's budget on that intro.
I’m praying this game gets a decent remaster so i can experience this, Endless Possibilities is freaking awesome
Who shits on the Werehog gameplay without even trying to master it is just a whiny child tbh 💀
Terrible argument. You shouldn't have to master something that isn't fun to master in order for it to be fun.
@@SFproductions1 I really enjoyed the Werehog since the first level, it's a really nice pacebreaker for me. It's like two games for the price of one, and I absolutely loved it
That's great, but that's your opinion. Just because someone dislikes the playstyle doesn't mean they're invalid for thinking that
I know this is months ago but I would just like to say, I really really like and enjoy Sonic unleashed, one of the top 5 favorites, it does has its flawed moments but I still enjoy it.
I like Sonic Unleashed as much as I like Sonic Adventures 2, Colours and Frontiers, I do consider Unleashed to be the weakest of the four, but people saying that it's the WORSE Sonic game is a little bit too much to me.
also something stupid is that we could've gotten a port of the game for steam but idk why it didnt
Theres 4 ppl in this game..
Ign: argh too hard whats a werehog blah blah blah
Hard but nice: i like this game for its diffuiculty
The pro: great game i love every part.. even the eggmanland 🥴
