And only in MvM can you even place a second, albeit tiny, sentry. And that thing is strictly disposable. No repairs, no refills.
Sadly we dont have any item that allows u to have 2 sentries, but we still can defend a teammates sentry with our own
@@karlbischof2807 a well decent shotgun and a strong will together with your sentry, you can pretty much dominate a point and last longer without help (as long as you have a dispenser)
The only time you can defend your Sentry with another Sentry is if you work together with another Engie. And then, YOUR Sentry is also protecting HIS Sentry.
engie's sentry has a very easy time telling friend from foe because the teams are color coded, it just needs to recognize red or blue.

We had something very close to Engineer's sentry with CIWS. Didn't differentiate friend from foe (we had IFF for that) and Sidewinders could defeat it with their flight pattern. Aegis was pretty solid for its time though.

Scouts actually do really well against sentries, provided that those sentries are in a position where the scout can gun it down with his pistol just outside it's range
Or if the scout can mount on top of the sentry or the sentry is not facing a threshold the scunt can dip and pop out of, taking advantage of that split second delay from the sentry having to spin around.
Or being an annoying fly with a Bonk absorbing damage for the direct hit solly or stickyspam demo to drop down and kill the entire nest
True, however every class except Pyro can do that better.
I wouldn't call that doing well so much as coping.

Man back in the day I had designs for a actual sentry gun basically it would tell friend from foe based on if you were carrying a radio fob kind of like how some self starting cars will unlock and start if you get within a certain distance. And if you didn't have a radio fob then chances are you are hostile and in a place you shouldn't be in the first place...
And the aiming was even simpler basically a thermal camera and some simple code to have the camera track and shoot anything that has a higher temperature then the ambient. Such code is actually used in trail cameras for years.
Yeah Uncle Dane did a video something along the lines of "How to deal with the other classes as Engineer" and it's a great video to watch before you attempt to play Engineer.

normally, engie can not place another sentry in game and can only move his own
the only exception is in mvm where if you upgrade his sentry, you could add a mini sentry to his disposal

In all seriousness though, I ignored the shotgun for a while as well, but I've been getting back into TF2 lately and found that the shotgun is honestly more reliable than basically any other weapon. I was playing pyro and found myself using it as my primary, and only occasionally swapping to the flamethrower for clusters of enemies
The Wrangler (the secondary that Lazy Purple was using in the SFM at the start of the video) is technically like the RC turret you were talking about. The Wrangler forces you to shoot manually and aim manually.
Talking about the "feelings of the copyright holders", I do believe that talking to each entity would help; though it is time consuming, i understand
The concept of a remotely controlled machine gun on top of a vehicle has actually existed since World War 2. The MG34 found on top of German Hetzers were actually controlled from inside the fighting department. But, to be fair, they did their aiming via periscope, not a monitor.

Its really hard being an engie main, you being competent isnt enough to carry an entire team of oblivious teammates

Engi requires pretty good tactical sense actually. If you place your buildings dumb, you will suffer.
Also, don't underestimate the shotgun. It's fairly reliable... sans the bullet spread.
Heavy actually has a doctorate in Russian literature. It's not an idiot it's just a raging stoic who really loves his gun

the logistics part is very true in tf2. The sentry helps, but the dispenser and teleporter actually win the game
The missile knows where it is
The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't, by subtracting where it is, from where it isn't, or where it isn't, from where it is, whichever is greater, it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance sub-system uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is, to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position where it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event of the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has required a variation. The missile guidance computance scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is, however it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It is able to obtain a deviation, and a variation, which is called "air"

Fun fact: artillery used to be manned by four people one would load the shell/bomb one would listen to a radio one would talk through the radio and say the quadrants and the second guy tells the last guy manning the cannon to aim at a point where the quadrants are and then hope that you didn’t take to long to miss entirely because they moved

That is most certainly his whole shtick. You watched Meet the Engineer. You know what he said in his monolog. "And if that don't work, use more gun". Hell! Even the song that plays duringeet the Engineer is titled "More gun". A good amount of firepower is what the Engineer is all about.
Though somewhat hilariously, getting a kill with a combat mini sentry will sometimes result in the Engineer saying "Sometimes you just need a little less gun."
Fun fact: some pyros adapt a playstile called "pybro" which are focused on protecting the buildings of the engineer from rockets and grenades with his airblast and even spies burning them when they try to to sap the buildings and even the sappers themselves with a melee weapon called "homewrecker" which can get rid of them
About special forces intel: That is how it's supposed to work.
During the invasion of Grenada back in the 80's, the special forces were issued with tourist maps. Someone in intel was being lazy, methinks.
You mention at 10:43 how Special Forces teams do their homework about the target, know the layout of the building and so on. The first mission/tutorial ("FNG") in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare shows this, it's British SAS in this case, but they built a plywood shooting gallery mockup of the bridge/tower of a cargo ship that they use to train, and then attack 'for real' in the next mission ("Crew Expendable").
here's a question I have is it technically safe to use your foot to kick the door down when there might be a trigger on the other side, wouldn't it be better to use a battering ram so that way they at least don't lose their foot?

I've actually had some success destroying sentries on scout. You can easily circle them while pumping buckshot into them. As long as all pellets hit it's going to do full damage with no fall off. This is hard to do with engineers that baby sit their sentries however.

Honestly the Medics and Engineers of TF2 are the real heroes of TF2. not to mention if the tech behind their "game changers" (the Medigun and Teleporter, respectively!) were ever real, War itself would change to adapt. Ninjaneering would potentially end up a real life strat where some sneaky son of a gun plants a teleporter exit down behind enemy lines and getting troops from point A to point B would be as easy as put the respective teleporter entrance down, have everyone go through one by one, and then when everyone is there, begin the operation. and Mediguns would literally make saving lives easier, even without Ubercharge invincibility: imagine just carrying a device around that you know is going to reliably save your friend's life as long as they haven't died yet and it's as simple as point and shoot the healing beam at them for a while.
I mean showing parts of the video is good, but we all know that in reality we are just here to hear you talk.

However, if the entire process of finding a target and firing is automated; the target acquisited would be at the mercy of such AI. I could see ways around that for friendly soldiers; but what about enemies that are not indexed and civvies that dont have the issued tech to be indexed?

And sorry Paul for butting in a lot of the time after such topics, i had the same profile pic for discord (I changed it, and my topic was militias), i never had any militant or military training, but i do know Target Acquisition is kind of a problem (to know if they are friendlies or not, maybe not with those in the same garb, however not knowing about somebody you're not briefed on is a problem) when you don't know who could be a potential problem.
