Lyrics:
I love music
Any kind of music
I love music
Just as long as it's grooving
I love music
Sweet, sweet music
Long as it's swinging
All the joy that it's bringing

Who's listening to this classic at this moment 2024 ?
Those were OUR days!
Me!!! ❤
Me. (smile).
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Right here ✌️
I’m a younger person, but something I’ve noticed from older music, especially from the 70s and some 80s, is how masterful the arrangement and mixing were. Even if the recording equipment wasn’t the best, they arranged their songs accordingly. They played instruments damn good back then, too. Something about those analog days just hits the spot. In modern digital music it’s hard to find a song that is well mixed and mastered in this fashion, even amongst industry professionals. It’s more “empty” now, there’s often something missing, and sometimes the frequency is even headache-inducing. Nevertheless I enjoy music from all eras, but it seems this style of music recording among popular genres hasn’t been passed down… I would love to hear about what changed from veterans in the industry.
Well said 💖
I believe they just lost their way, money was more important than sharing it with other band members 😔
Bands don't play music like they used to. Drum machines and synthesizers have taken over. A synthesizer cannot match live horn or string arrangements. And a drum machine cannot match a live drummer and live percussion instruments.
Great Music is AGELESS..💯💖
Pro tools is what changed in my opinion. Made things too easy, people lazy, and everything sound the same.
Our music was so damned good back then - we baby boomers were so lucky to be able to listen to songs like this.
Yes yes yes. I'm 63 yrs old those's were the years music was so damned good us baby boomers. And yes time just went too fast.. But I still listening to our music from the 60's 70's till this day 2023 . Single lady from Texas Maria
I call it the Golden Age of music
Just leave the generations after the baby boomers alone. The lack of that generation was to teach the descendants how to handle acentry.@@matiaescobefo746

Im From Brooklyn and I remember record stores that would blast the latest Songs that u could hear throughout the street or at Empire Roller Rink on Empire Blvd! And soul train was a Saturday classic!
The sound of Philly! Who's still listening until the end of time? 🙂❤👍👏
It really does feel like the end of time lol
I'm 40. I remember hearing this on oldies 98.1WOGL growing up!
For 50 years
Couldn't of said it any better. TSOP was something special. It seemed to come at a time that was the ounce of the disco era.....good stuff.
still banging old school,in philly its the #1 rule,on 76 old grandmarquis, jammin hard never ceist, cops behind me bobbing there heads in disbelief 😂
These songs are bittersweet. If you're old enough, they will make you smile because they remind you of good times and the people you shared those good times with. And they will make you burst into tears because 2/3 of the people you shared those good times with are no longer with you 😢
Well said. That's what's so sad about getting older. The Great times are long gone and are now Bitter Sweet, and the sad things you must keep active, so as not to dwell on.
♥️♥️♥️♥️ you are blessed with the memories of good times with good people ♥️♥️♥️
and that's EXACTLY how i feel because right now with tears in my eyes i'm thinking of my mama, daddy, grandparents, cousins, and friends that have passed.
I like the first part of your paragraph.
Yup, Bittersweet is correct🥲
That's when we had REAL music that lifted our spirits, nurtured our souls, gave us hope, encouraged our natural loving and sexual natures. What followed recently is hostility, violence, psycho-sickness leaving you bankrupt--watch out! cover your hearts when it comes on the radio, tik tok or anywhere else!
Toxic music!

Remember my Franco-American Aunt married my Spanish Uncle, and they bought a brand new '72 Impala in Silver and would crank this on the stereo whenever we'd go visit them and head-out for Ice Cream. Boston Mass in the 1970's; there was nothing quite like it
What a wonderful memory!

My Big Brother had ALL The O'Jays albums including this one!!!: You couldn't tell him he wasn't Eddie LeVert!!! My Brother was so fine back then! May he forever rest in peace in the bosom of Allah until I get there!! Inshallah!!!
I love both this 1975 original and also the 1993 remake. But I'm always gonna love this 1975 original the best.
Check out the O Jays at 'Daryl's House on you tube, this video was made some years ago & itis a bit different but still 'awesome'!! Daryl Hall from 'Hall & Oates' from the seventies/eighties!!
From the movie Carlitos way yet it was covered by Rozalla.
I'm seventy two years old and I still love this music! Keep up the awesome vibes. Yessssss!!!!!!!!!!
Larry Washington on congas. Ronnie Baker on bass. Earl Young on drums. Norman Harris arranging.
Who could ask for more.
This song will never get old !!!!
What happened to today's music? This song is a timeless classic. "Music is the healing voice of the world." I wish I could go back to the 70's & 80's.
There's lots of great music out there from all eras, you just gotta know where to find it. You need recommendations, hit me up.
This is real music 🎶❤
@Poo It's not though. I bet you'd find something you liked if you gave it a chance. There's something good out there in virtually every genre (maybe not counting super specific ones).
Some rubbish replies here. Music now does not have real instruments sublime production and driving rhythm
70s for me like this song

Candic staple

You're damn right Douglas!
To those that know that's a no brainer Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff are musical geniuses!
Totally!
PEOPLE ARE GONNA STILL BE SINGING THIS IN THE YEAR 3000 AND BEYOND
I can attest to that definitely. Of course we all would’ve you know transitioned and be in new bodies but I do agree.😌
I've got about 7000 albums, roughly 3500 cassette tapes (some mixed from the radio, when the DJ is talking in the beginning--just for posterity), and about 5000 CDs (3000 more that my daughters nicked). Couldn't tell you how much I've collected otherwise. I plan on leaving all the music to my grandkids. Great grandkids, if I live that long. I've albums from my grandparents to vinyl I still order occasionally from the Net. Soundtracks, you name it: It's in there.
We owe it to the kids to give them ALL the music. If nothing else, it is the universal language. Peace. x
ETA: Eldest grandkid just reminded me of the handful of 8 Tracks I still have. Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic, pink Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti and some jazz from Dad.
What Could be better than a Sweet love Song
Was an honour to have experienced this generation of music 🎵🙏🌿
The O'Jays at their finest! My late grandfather loved this song. He'd have the whole house up dancing to this one! Such a beautiful, slightly haunting melody.
This song will always resonate with me. I had just turned 18 and joined the army in 1975.
I joined in1974 specifically for Vietnam. Lol.. Crazy yeah and then too many soldiers in army, 1975.
So I volunteered for civilian. Lol...
More parties and 15 months later in 1977 I joined the Infantry. I stayed in for 6 years on a world tour. It was fun dangerous and successful all at the same time. Lol... Not everyone was as fortunate. To the victor belongs the spoils. Infantry Sgt. Sanchez. DMZ SCOUTS KOREA, JUNGLE EXPERTS PANAMA, NWTC ALASKA. LOL....CRAZY BUT DOABLE!..take care my Brother, we experienced the best of music and interesting people.

This generation has not a clue! Real musicians no machines no auto tune! Just soul and fire!

Now this is REAL black music. No auto tune nonsense. Great 4x4 beat, great lyrics and guys who could sing. Takes me right back to 1975. Sadly black music today does not deserve to be
in the same room as these legends. Great Gamble/Huff song. Just Brilliant.
I'm a white guy but I'm cream-colored I love this music you guys are the greatest thank you Godspeed
Classic music
I'm Puerto Rican and this great music inspires me 👌🏻
Auto tune makes music sound out of tune.
What about boy’s to men?
Music is definitely the healing force of the world, especially in 2020.
EXACTLY!!!

Shame that they don’t play good music on the radio anymore.. can’t compare this to today’s music
@@jackthe-lad8120 we’re all one human race ❤️
@@jackthe-lad8120 yes and many fools play into it. That is why I dont watch news anymore. I don’t listen to radio. Mainstream media is full of filth. This song was at my cousins funeral and 2013 and I listen to it every day as a reminder of him the best cousin ever cousin John
The soul of the 70s! Wow. Great music to grow-up on.
I am a big fan of the disco, funk Era but I must say that soul music takes it a step further . Soul folks deserve plenty of credit indeed. There won't be another Marvin Gaye around to come up with I heard it through the grapevine or brother, brother..... Gosh how talented these people were!!
Yes, Donald! Agree.
Gamble and Huff wrote this song.
I embrace everything about this Era! Never thought it would go by so fast! 💨💨💨💨😁🤗🤗
You and I both! Man do I wish for those good time and good music again!
Can't be sad listening to this happy song! I LOVE MUSIC! YESSSS I DO! Just what I needed to snap me out of the deep sorrow I'm experiencing due to the death of my ex-husband, the father of my two sons. R.I.P. Maxie. I always loved you. God loved you more. I'm thankful that He took you out of your suffering. I will always be thankful for our time spent together. Because of you I have two great sons I am still alive to see bring honor to your name.

Classic "sound of Philly" stuff. Still sounds great in 2022.......
TSOP all day! The music from Philly sticks to you more for some reason
Gamble and Huff were legendary.
Still sounds great in 2023….
@@Karen_734 You are 100 % correct
One of the greatest bands of all time! No discussions on this, no negotiations!
Yup. MFSB.
A #5 hit for The O'Jays in January/February 1976. It went to #1 on the Rhythm & Blues charts and the Disco charts. It went to #7 on the Cash Box charts. Outside the US, it went to #9 in Canada and to #13 in the United Kingdom.
That was such an awesome time for music ..... this song was in the pop top 10 as the same time as songs like 'I Write The Songs', by Barry Manilow, 'The Theme From 'Mahogany'' by Diana Ross, and 'Love Rollercoaster' by The Ohio Players ..... take me back to 1976!
For O’Jay fans, I encourage you to watch them perform with Daryl Hall at Daryl’s House (available on UA-cam). Even in their 70’s, these men can really sing. I admire their talent so much.
Yasss! There performance on Daryl Hall's,from Daryl's House is amazing! I definitely second this, It's quite the treat! The O'Jays are like wine... They only get better with time & That's that they started already being phenomenal!
Easily one of the best music vids on the internet. Live at Daryl's House
@@OcelotlAlma13 It all comes from the song "It Just Gets Better With Time" by The Whispers (which is another great band), so I agree with that wholeheartedly.
You said 'Daryl Hall'. That's an automatic turn on. This coming from a Hall and Oates fan. I've listened to a lot of these groups and have my appreciation of this music as I started listening it from my dad in the 80s. And to be honest I have not let up from this.
@@EightCrosstown Thennnn, I'm sure you've listened to Darryl's cut 'I'm In A Philly Mood'? If you haven't, search the cut with the official video on here. This song folks slept on. Don't know why but it still sounds good 27 yrs later!
My favorite OJays song by far!
Me too my Favorite
MINE TOO.
I remember getting stoned back in the day to Rock and Motown and the music was just so loving and beautiful! Nothing Hateful! Just grazing in the grass! Can you dig it, Baby? 😂 God, I had fun!😊✌🦋🌳🌼🌻

I think you have gotten the wrong idea mister. Sure they said, "I Love Music", but you missed what they said after that. They also said, "Any kind of music".

1976: The vocals of the O'Jays. The power of MFSB. The songs and production of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Damn, this is good! Just wish Philly International had put the whole thing on one side of the 45.

Love that 'menacing-piano' in the background, and those Saxophones! Very sexy!
Basically the whole song is a hook. Everything works. The rhythm section, the vocals etc.. Brilliant and timeless track.
O'jays made hits after hits. My favorite group.
Music united people once, now the newer stuff seems to divide us more.
You are soooo right!
Pure soul singers , singing from the heart with feelings and emotions..... much love for my peeps
There's something about soul music that is absolutely amazing . Only the carefree, self confident, relaxed black people's attitude could have produced it. There's no way the white people who feel lost and naked unless they have a plan from start to finish to rely on could have imagined that a song could be made also on improvisation and still sound perfectly balanced. That's a thing that was used in jazz as well.humanity ought to be grateful for the black people 's huge contribution to the world of music.
Your peeps include me, an old white lady! I have ALWAYS loved this song. 🎵🧚🏻😎
I'm so grateful that autotune was not involved during this Era. Really Singing from the heart. Not fake ❤️💯
Probably one the top bands of the 70's disco era. and 70's period.
I agree 😃
I don't have the words to say how good this song is
Listening to this song, thinking about my father yesterday. He was in his hospital room sitting up playing pc games and listening to music. The day before yesterday, his left lung collapsed. 24 months ago, his right lung collapsed and was on ventilator for a week or two, I forgot exact time frame. Praise Jesus this time not need a ventilator. At least this time he already was in hospital ( pneumonia ). He was looking and sounded so great the two or three days before lung collapsed. Shows how fast things happen, in unexpected ways. He also has either stage 3 or final stage COPD. Been in hospital since night of his 78th birthday 3 weeks ago.
This song played on my mind yesterday after talked to nurse and it also played on my mind day or two afterhe was off the ventilator 24 months ago after hearing he was sitting up playing music.
