I’m a younger person, but something I’ve noticed from older music, especially from the 70s and some 80s, is how masterful the arrangement and mixing were. Even if the recording equipment wasn’t the best, they arranged their songs accordingly. They played instruments damn good back then, too. Something about those analog days just hits the spot. In modern digital music it’s hard to find a song that is well mixed and mastered in this fashion, even amongst industry professionals. It’s more “empty” now, there’s often something missing, and sometimes the frequency is even headache-inducing. Nevertheless I enjoy music from all eras, but it seems this style of music recording among popular genres hasn’t been passed down… I would love to hear about what changed from veterans in the industry.
Bands don't play music like they used to. Drum machines and synthesizers have taken over. A synthesizer cannot match live horn or string arrangements. And a drum machine cannot match a live drummer and live percussion instruments.

I've got about 7000 albums, roughly 3500 cassette tapes (some mixed from the radio, when the DJ is talking in the beginning--just for posterity), and about 5000 CDs (3000 more that my daughters nicked). Couldn't tell you how much I've collected otherwise. I plan on leaving all the music to my grandkids. Great grandkids, if I live that long. I've albums from my grandparents to vinyl I still order occasionally from the Net. Soundtracks, you name it: It's in there. We owe it to the kids to give them ALL the music. Yasss! There performance on Daryl Hall's,from Daryl's House is amazing! I definitely second this, It's quite the treat! The O'Jays are like wine... They only get better with time & That's that they started already being phenomenal!
@@OcelotlAlma13 It all comes from the song "It Just Gets Better With Time" by The Whispers (which is another great band), so I agree with that wholeheartedly.
You said 'Daryl Hall'. That's an automatic turn on. This coming from a Hall and Oates fan. I've listened to a lot of these groups and have my appreciation of this music as I started listening it from my dad in the 80s. And to be honest I have not let up from this.

I'm thankful that He took you out of your suffering. I will always be thankful for our time spent together. Because of you I have two great sons I am still alive to see bring honor to your name.
Erma Bowden Sorry for your loss, 1 year later.
Erma Bowden sorry to hear about your lost..and I hope music brings you back it can.. have faith..good bless you
May he forever rest in peace.
🙏🏿❤️🙏🏿❤️
Sorry about your loss 💔
One of the best groups from 70's to present....I can just sit up and listen to them..All of their songs are exceptionally well put together....
Class period.
Absolutely scores of hits not many can match these guys' catalog...
"Sit up"?!? You don't "get down"?
REALLY good music.....meaningful lyrics
PEOPLE ARE GONNA STILL BE SINGING THIS IN THE YEAR 3000 AND BEYOND
I can attest to that definitely. Of course we all would’ve you know transitioned and be in new bodies but I do agree.😌
If nothing else, it is the universal language. Peace. x
ETA: Eldest grandkid just reminded me of the handful of 8 Tracks I still have. Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic, pink Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti and some jazz from Dad.
FORTUNATELY WE ALL WILL HAVE THAT DAY, BUT AS LONG AS WE CONTINUE TO UNITE, ENCOURAGE, RESPECT, AND SUBMIT 2 DA POWER DAT BE, WE'LL BE 😉👍ALRIGHT, HUH???????
What Could be better than a Sweet love Song
Basically the whole song is a hook. Everything works. The rhythm section, the vocals etc.. Brilliant and timeless track.
For O’Jay fans, I encourage you to watch them perform with Daryl Hall at Daryl’s House (available on UA-cam). Even in their 70’s, these men can really sing. I admire their talent so much.
Yasss! There performance on Daryl Hall's,from Daryl's House is amazing! I definitely second this, It's quite the treat! The O'Jays are like wine... They only get better with time & That's that they started already being phenomenal!
Easily one of the best music vids on the internet. Live at Daryl's House
@@EightCrosstown Thennnn, I'm sure you've listened to Darryl's cut 'I'm In A Philly Mood'? If you haven't, search the cut with the official video on here. This song folks slept on. Don't know why but it still sounds good 27 yrs later!
Probably one the top bands of the 70's disco era. and 70's period.
I agree 😃
Classic "sound of Philly" stuff. Still sounds great in 2022.......
TSOP all day! The music from Philly sticks to you more for some reason
Gamble and Huff were legendary.
Still sounds great in 2023….
@@Karen_734 You are 100 % correct
🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🏿 ETERNALLY GRATEFUL THAT THE 70S EVER WAS.💯✨
We need to end the hateful divisive vibe and remember the joy we all shared together in the music. We need more O'Jays in our life. Like the Family Reunion Album Cover shows we are all family.
I could listen to this ALL DAY LONG ❤❤❤❤
Darling back in the day we did listen all day long.
"I love music" is a good title for this song. I mean . . . Who could not love this kind of music?
Still listing 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

I think you have gotten the wrong idea mister. Sure they said, "I Love Music", but you missed what they said after that. They also said, "Any kind of music".
So not only were they referring to "this kind of music" as you put it, but ALL kinds of music, my friend. 😒

You do mean, "Listening" right?

Amen, my friend.
Ahhhhh I sure do miss the 20th Century.
I Love music... It's a great beat to workout in... Also to dance with...😊
I like that album cover. Captures the ideal of unity.
Music is definitely the healing force of the world, especially in 2020.
EXACTLY!!!
I totally agree.
Shame that they don’t play good music on the radio anymore.. can’t compare this to today’s music
@@jackthe-lad8120 we’re all one human race ❤️
@@jackthe-lad8120 yes and many fools play into it. That is why I dont watch news anymore. I don’t listen to radio. Mainstream media is full of filth. I listen to podcasts to peoples opinions that interest me without agenda to corrupt my mind. I listen only to music with good message.. there’s still good music being made today.. we just need to look harder for everything, because its wild out there..
Horns, strings, drums, vocals, just outstanding. Thanks Gamble& Huff you guys rocked the Philly Sound..
they had help, don't forget, BOBBY MARTIN and THOM BELL.

Yo man Eddie is the best ad-lib singer I ever heard in my 52 years. Just listen to how he starts this joint off...I love the guy
I agree 100 percent..Eddie's knows how to get'em up and rolling to the music. Thanks for sharing your talents to the would.💙
that instrumental bridge in middle of the song to "Come on, Get it on, Get it on!"... is fire
I grew up listening to music that's why I love music!😉
