The best loadout for this mutation would be a sniper rifle (military/hunter), a sharpened melee, any throwable, pills/adren and lastly a gas can/propane tank/cola. With that latter, you can look down, drop it and grab it at the same upon when you are getting caught by the smoker. It cut its tongue.
