Thank you pc Chris Pratt
I think you meant to say PC Starlord
PC = Pratt, Chris
Even i had the same first same impression.
3:07 I don’t have a pwm header on my motherboard so where do I plug this in
@@MusicLover0423 a normal fan header, a hub, an adapter.. it depends on what you do have.
i just bought AMD Wraith Prism air cooler , and it comes with a free CPU
Same happened to me, I bought a usb cable and it came with a free Logitech g502 mouse! Very generous company I recommend
Dude no way! I bought a 24 pin motherboard power cable and it came with a power supply! Powerspec is a very good company.
Dude! I bought a card board box and it came with a free 4k Monitor!
Guys, are you serious? You won't believe, I just bought a piece of land and it came with a whole Country for free! So lucky I am.
@@MainakRoyChowdhury ok that one is lame
I choose Noctua, because brown color increase air flow.
Because you can never pass gas™
Would you say you're a fan?
you can get them in black tho
and it also gives +0.8fps every each fans
I’m putting 5 fans in my pc
How I choose my Fans:
- Noctua
- Size in mm
- Fan Speed
Felix R Yeah, be quiet doesn’t offer slim fans. Making Noctua a godsend for SFF enthusiasts like myself.
Yup, I just built a new computer with all noctua fans, its pretty much silent and its nice and cool, the NF-A12x25 is a must buy for radiators.
Especially now that they have the black fans and black coolers!
I suggest you to try "Argus Monitor". It's 8€ every year, but it's fucking awesome software.
@Eder 120v And proud!
I want a video like this that's not sponsored by Be Quiet
Going to guess this video was brought to us by BeQuiet.
Lol. Right.
Totally, but they are a great brand! :)
@@Ali_ReBORN I agree, I do wish they would put out a mesh front panel for their 801 case. I really like the invertible motherboard but airflow would be restrictive in that case.
steeltimberwolf i have the 900 Pro (Gen 1) i do love it and the fans, so quiet indeed :)
I mean that's what he said at the start.
This is exactly the video with info on case fans I've been looking for. Very informative. Thank you.
Choosing the best Fan for a PC is easy:
If you don't care about looks: Get the biggest noctua fan fitting your rig
If you do care about looks: Stop caring about looks and choose the biggest noctua fan for your rig.
Ma Hu they make black ones now so it’s sorted
@@elliottslab still no RGB for all that RGB fanboys out there. So if you do care about RGB, buy noctua and stop caring about RGB :-P
Ma Hu haha can get rgb fan covers I guess lol or just strips
Prefer BQ over noctua. Cheaper and around the same performance.
I love this post haha, EK and some Scythe models also perform nearly on par. and if cost is a consideration at all then noctua sadly shouldnt be on your list as the performance increase at the same noise level isnt worth the additional cost - getting better hardware and underclocking is the better choice unless you are already at the highest end possible.
If cost doesnt matter its noctua all the way thou :)
Such an amazingly put together video that explains and shows everything. As I was revisiting this video again for particular pieces it was nice to be able to scrub through and easily tell which section started where with the full screen power point slide style segments. Thank you for making videos!
This is easy since Noctua decided to have other colors other than brown.

@@Chillhoof i do and that fans are INSANE, pnly 22db and 2000rpm. my other fans feels like junk at its side
@@Chillhoof Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM are awesome - their Best so far. I just hope they will would do 140mm and 200mm with a same tech/materials.
They also have tan.
Thank you Dmitry. This was that 10% more that I needed to completely understand fans and what kinds of fans work great for my needs. (:
Great video. Very clear, amazing production quality, educational, short. This is what UA-cam is meant for. Thank you!
Thank you - VERY helpful vid for someone new to this. Much appreciated! Cheers from Sydney Australia.
I haven't been in the pc hardware world for a while, but now that I'm getting back into it I'm glad to see you're channel is doing better than ever! Thanks for the helpful reminders about fan choice ;)
You forgot to mention that wider fans are generally more silent since they can move more air but spin less fast than a smaller one.
Inside my case, I have four 200mm (two top and two bottom) and I absolutely love how quiet they are while doing an excellent job cooling down the whole system.
@Goosey Go with the first option. I have 3 Cooler Master fans (because they fit in the case) and a Noctua fan. If you don't care about RGB, get Noctua fans.
1) do I feel rich?
If so, noctua
Else, 10 dollar arctic fans on amazon.
Or buy b-ware directly from Noctua
I got three Noctua NF-A14 PWM for 14€ each + free shipping + 6 year warranty
The only downside is that there are no accessories
@@Felix-ve9hs 14 euro for a fan is not cheap though... I guess it's better than the Silent Wings 3. These are 55 bucks a pop here. Seems crazy to pay that much for a fan.
@@Todiros he said he got 3 fans for 14€
@@Edigor100 "14€ each" sound like 14 per fan
Excellent video, as someone about to upgrade the case and fans a very big thank you!
Thank you so much for this! Really clarified some doubts I still had
Hello, I loved how you made the video, the technical details made me fascinate and I like it, to get a better sample of my money the best for my pc, I hope you make more videos of this type and with that precision of technical details. THANKS.
Just the right time to make this guide. I was about to buy fans, hopefully this can help me out!
I built my first computer 3 month ago, and just yesterday I started to think about upgrading the fan to make it quieter and then this video shows up.... the timing is just too perfect I call wizardry !! very instructive thanks !!!
Hey, I got those fans for my PC a while ago. They are fantastic, super easy to install, effective and whisper quiet. The video here is clearly sponsored, but I must say Dimitri is not saying anything false. The silentwings 3 are top notch
@@mateofantasma Especially the full rubber corners. I have 6 Silentwings 3 (1000 RPM 3 Pin) in my case and with 5 Volts you just cant hear anything. Ist truly amazing. I switched from pure wings 2, which in my opinion arent very good fans, because they are kinda loud, but the SW3 is insanly quiet. And if i want to play some games, i always set them to 7 Volts (I got a silentbase 801 so i can use the inbuild fancontroler), so you can barely hear anything, but the temperatures are perfectly fine. I can really recommend those fans. Here in Germany they cost like 18€ which is a fair and good price in my opinion. like Dimitry said, the lifespan is like 32 years, so you never need to upgrade. :)
I like the lighting style used for the video. Really fitted in with the bequiet thing.
Great video, answered all my questions.
For me,
Easiest way to compare it by the Bearing
1. FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing), best of the best
2. Dual Ball Bearing, cheaper version but comparable with FDB
Hydro, Rifle, Twister, Sleeved
All others, couldn't careless
NB : Sleeved bearing is Old tech Dirt Cheap bearing,, usually manufactur use it to boost profit
Edited:
Forgot something important,
Noctua is exception here.
But since i never use it, so can't confirm about performance.
All others bearings are not bad, they just 'good enough'
What is hydro? Hydraulic?
@@blurdood They are counterfeits of Fluid dynamic bearing(FDB)
Exactly, also i think Noctua's SSO2 bearing, corsair's ML bearing are great bearing like FDB
I did an oopsie then, few months ago I bought hydro bearing fans
Forgot something important,
Noctua is exception here.
But since i never use it, so can't confirm about performance.
All others bearings are not bad, they just 'good enough'
Perfectly fit for budget orientation.
Excellent information. thank you!
One of your best videos. Thank you.
Very helpful, thanks!
Just what I needed!
how to choose the best fans for your pc build
me: FRICK YEHHHHH
0:18 huge thanks for BE QUIET
REALLY BRUH.....
Maybe they should take a page out of Linus' book and label it as a "Showcase", or something similar. Just so people can be aware upfront.
I see no issue with the sponsorship, its not like they are forcing be quite fans down everyones throats, the information is universal among all fans
Tech YES City has much better fan vids, but I do respect the level of tech detail in this one.
@@brykit1972 i liked it too
that was just how i felt when he said that
Sivabalan J I was really shocked when there were be quiet links in the description
Thanks for the video, liked and subbed ✅
Thank you. It's very helpful.
very informative thanks
Desperately needed this vid
Loving the be quiet silent wings 3 fans myself! My dark rock pro 4 is great aswell. When the load gets higher and you start to hear them it is minimal compared to the GPU fans! And they al make the same pleasent sound
It's been a while since I've watched one of your videos, but damn did I miss it. Still the best reviews in terms of production/visuals. Lighting is on point, B-roll looks stunning, and the video is nicely structured. Keep up the phenomenal work you guys!
I changed everything possible in my PC to be quiet!, Absolutely love them
Well explained Dimitri!!
Good video, very informative
thx for the video! also awesome color !!!!!
I bought my first high performance fans in my last build and I can report that it was worth every penny I spent. I went with the 2x120mm be quiet! Silent Wings 3 fans and they work great in my HTPC. It is in my living area and in a confined space. Noise AND performance were primary considerations. Both were met and I am now a loyal be quiet! customer.
Very helpful guide
I would love to see a budget fan shoot out! We all definitely need fans. But a lot of us are on a tight budget just on the main components! So adding fans can be out of our price range especially considering how expensive name brand fans have become recently. Just a video idea!
Excellent video
I love how the black/gray/orange color scheme of bequiet! pervades in this video.
Thx. I learned a lot.
a video showing sufficient airflow with the correct amount of fans vs a low amount of fans, or high vs low static pressure, ect. with smoke or something.... that would be awesome! i love how your videos like this come out.
Really nice lighting through that radiator
I'm actually very happy with the Be Quiet brand. I used three 120mm silent wings 3 pwm high speed fans to replace EVGA fans on a 360mm CLC. I leave them running at 100% because its not noticeable. Win Win.
I have a be quiet case fan and noise at 2000 rpm is very noticeable, simple because you hear how air blows
@射進肚臍 I’m going to order different fans from be quiet and compare them, right now I have 120 mm silent wing 2 high speed. I will choose whichever is quietest. You are not supposed to run fans at 100% all the time, right?
@射進肚臍 oh that’s cool, I have the same fans, thank you for your advice
@射進肚臍 for me everything under 80% fan speed is okay, higher than that it’s kind of loud
@射進肚臍 for me it's bearable, it's just air noise...I will compare it to silent wings 3 and write my review here
I am a fan of this video, its pretty cool
Good info. Hope you do a follow up video with the newer black Noctua fans vs Be quiet! as well as any other fans you can recommend.
Thanks PC Starlord
Be quiet fans are nice. I bought 2 for my aio radiator and they work great. Nice and quiet underload
*Very informative.👏🏽*
Glad it helped 😊
-D.
For me the Noctua Redux fans are perfect for me as they aren't very expensive, last forever, and have amazing cooling.
Lol this was good timing been looking at fans non stop recently
Star-lord reviewing fans and airflows. Cool! 😂 kidding aside, the content is very informative.
I can vouch for those Silent Wings 3 140's. Not the quietest fan, but the sound is pleasant on the ears.
Strong thumbnail game there!
Thinking about Noctua for my next build, their new black tower and fans are tempting
When would you even use AF optimised fans instead of SP optimised fans? Given the trend in the market for restrictive front panels, maybe just the rear exhaust fan?
Good Guide
I learn something new today.
I got a stock intel fan idk I just changed the fan speed by a lot and it works
I've actually had a few Noctua's die on me after only 18 months, and the service I got from them was "sorry about your luck. Here is a link to buy some more." So now I will be going with BeQuiet for my loop.
I went for some Arctic fans for my build. Based on my research they are equivalent to Noctuas in terms of performance, look better and cost a fraction of the price. Specifically 2xP14 for the front and 1xF12 for the rear exhaust. Based on my testing, all of these only become audible in case (Fractal Nano S) at 55% and at full load testing I saw virtually no change in CPU and GPU temps between 50% and 100%, so airflow is definitely adequate at this level as well. When working with fans, be sure to spend time to optimise your fan curves as this will give the most gains on noise performance. Also, never links case fans to the CPU temp sensor, but rather to a sensor closest to your GPU.
Nice video... I know you sponsored by BeQuiet but for me, Phanteks 120mm dual on my CPU and the rest I only use Jetflo 120 ~ a little noisy but temperature different is vastly noticeable. I always ensure an overkill on CFM to look after components over comfort and I never overclock so temps and noise are in check.
Waitimg for the new CM Ch321
Hey quick question. I love BeQuiet products, but I recall their PWM fans had problem with the control signal and would drop to about 50% speed as soon as you went with less than a 100% power, making a huge drop in speed so you ether have to go 100% or drop to half speed or less. (some fault in the PWM fan controllers.) Is this still a thing? I am planing on gettign a set of those fans and want to know if I should go with PWM or got for 3 pin fans and control them with voltage?
My fan choice in my system...
1. Be quiet silent wings 3 high speed (intake)
2. Corsair ll rgb fan (radiator & back exhaust)
3. Noctua industrial ppc (intake backup fan)
great vid
Wonderful, the best fans are any 140 mm at 900-1100 rpms except when used on radiators or cpu heatsinks
Demitry please take a look at the dune pro case. The are will to send review units to reviewers.
I get noctua ippc industrial fans. 3000 rpms with high dB rating, but high cfm and static pressure. It goes on a noctua fan controller and setup a fan curve based on the heat of the cpu. It will get load under stress. But for most games it's not bad. This is used on my system because of overclocking. If you don't overclock the regular noctua fans do great.
the best non pwm fans are the sickle flow and the tt riing ! and i tried lots of brands... the be quiet are very good while being less audible, also and the noctua redux are also great value for money...
Still rocking Nidec Gentle Typhoon 120mm fans for static pressure use and low noise.
Is gentle typhoon Ap15 a good fan these days?
After watching this video, I'm a big fan of this channel.
I'm impressed!
No mention of RGB fans, How can this be possible? o.O
What are your guys' thought on silent wings 2 140mm pwm for case fans? And what fans should I get for my nzxt x62?
Will you be reviewing the new blue yeti x desk mic?
How do magnetic levitation bearings compare to fluid-dynamic bearings?
I use my hair drayer on MAX output for cooling. always hot air is the output no matter what the PC is running
What should I take for i5-10600 CPU fan? Does the stock fan enough for keeping the Max turbo boost 4.8 GHz for at least half an hour or I should take a tower cooler?
What an Amazing video explaining everything and not a glorified commercial for once by Hardware Canucks
I have always wanted to know if fan bearings prefer having their shaft axis horizontal or vertical. I guess vertical so the axis has virtually no loading with exception to ball bearing fans. To test if I have the fans right I use tooth picks with ~2cm of sewing cotton attached on end and t-pick blue-tacked horizontally around different places in side the case, then watch to see how the cotton reacts. I just don't know any Vapers
I see no Noctua LTT edition
Although I agree,
This video was probably on the works before they were announced,
Everyone should just go out and buy black noctua's though
So you want me to pay noctua their usual hefty premium and then pay Linus, who's just a popular tech shill on YT. You're out of your mind sir.
"sponsored by BeQuiet"
Step 1: Make sure fan is made by Noctua
Step 2: Buy
Step 3: Find out LTT edition is pure black.
Step 4: Regret.
Step 5: Buy LL120 fans
Step 6: Find out you have only $30
Step 7: Buy RGB fans from unknown brand
Step 1: Make sure fan is made by Noctua
Step 2: Check if its airflow or static pressure version
Step 3: Make sure its the right size
Step 4: Buy
Did you not listen to the video. We all need bequiet fans! He mentioned the silent wings fans more than 10 times and had them pictured behind him and showing them up. so we should all buy those!!!
@@specifycs Do you even know wooosh means?
Hi, I'm my pc case I have 3 fans all 120mm. Front is intake, back is exhaust. Now my question is the one on the side panel should it be exhaust or intake for proper airflow. Right now I set it as exhaust? What do you think?
I have a lian li O11 with 3 Gentle Typhoon Ap15 on the side (intake) and 2 on the top in my h100i (exhaust). These gentle typhoon use to be one of the best fan models, but I think they're too old now. Is there better fans these days? Thanks!
In the 'high flow fan' vs 'high pressure fan' demonstration (with the radiator) the graphic says the fans are at 1500 and 2200 RPM respectively. Might that have more of a bearing on the amount of air getting through the rad than blade design, d'yer think? Because I've heard tell that _proper_ experiments show that there's usually less than 5% difference between blade configuratrions at given RPM in terms of flow or pressure.
I have a question my motherboard asus prime b450M-A has cha_fan1 can I connect a case fan directly to cha_fan1 or do I have to use some 3rd party solution please reply with an answer I have been researching for a while and it is so confusing.
What do you reckon to my fans for the below build?
Silent Base 601
2 x Silent Wings 3 140mm PWM fans to replace stock case fans
. Or do you think I should go for the 'high speed' version @1600 RPM?
Dark Rock 4 Cooler
3700X
Red Devil RX 5700 XT
16 GB 3600MHz
Samsung SSD
Corsair RMx750
B550 mobo
Looking for the quietest build possible.
Can i pair a static pressure fan and a non-static pressure fan for a push-pull config on my AIO rad?
I bought a Msi nighblade x2 it is a compact pc but I’m thinking about changing one fan should I upgrade intake or exhaust to improve cooling?
Are the Arctic P14 fans a good choice if I'm on a budget?
i goes noctua industrial 3000 RPM for simple reason ~ that sick static pressure satisfaction
How about P-Series (designed for static Pressure) from Artic Cooling fans? They have standard fans and BioniX version... But BioniX are much more expensive... They costs almostfour time more then standard version...
They have also PST - PWM signal sharing, really nice to have.
Do you have experience with them?
A huge FAN of the Corsair ML fans
Personally a be quiet fanboy. Got a silent loop 360 all be quiet case fans and a dark base 700.
is it okay to have 2 140mm intakes at the front and 3 120mm exhaust at the top or should I have 2 120 at the top and 1 at the back
