A bench made from recycled PPE waste - now surely that's a better option than to let all that plastic pollute our earth?! This furniture build is the biggest project that we've made using beams that we've extruded ourselves. It was great to challenge ourselves and find out what this material is really capable of!
What do you think of the finished bench? It was great for us to finally try a new plastic. Polypropylene definitely behaves differently to HDPE but overall it was excellent to work with. We really like the unique texture on the beams. It gives the final product a really interesting visual appeal. A huge thank you to ReWorked for collaborating with us on this project and supplying the plastic. Go check out the awesome work they are doing for hard-to-recycle plastics.
See you on the next one guys!

That obtuse angle doesn't look all that slight
Great video . Thanks .
Thanks, brothers!
Long time, no chat.
I forgot to ask in my last comment where can you find black hdpe?
@@nullsnaggle5198 protein powder containers seem to always be black.
I have to admit, I was expecting to see how you guys broke down the disposable masks, but knowing there's a whole organization out there implementing techniques to recycle is really encouraging and the resulting bench is gorgeous! I mainly have some disposables on hand in case I forget my reusables at home, but I will be thinking of this every time I see them C:
Thank you! We’re super happy with the result!
I agree! We did a bit of a deeper dive in tearing apart the masks yourselves and using the Polypropylene here: ua-cam.com/video/Yh32g7X9QNM/v-deo.html But yeah in general, super cool techniques for working with plastic! thanks!
@@dinalab thanks!
@@BrothersMake you should make Halloween masks from ppe plastic
Besides the fact that a lot of plastic has been recycled, I can't believe how beautiful the bench looks!
Its colour is gorgeous and you didn't even have to paint it!
I hope this type of furniture goes in fashion in the future.
Awesome work guys!
Thanks Leandro! We really like the final result also 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Awesome to see what you guys create with our machines - love the result 🙌
The best machines in the biz!
@@BrothersMake What do you recommend for those of us in North America?
This was surprisingly sturdy
We were slightly surprised also!
This would be a great way to recycle plastic to make communities better
For sure!
Amazing POC guys! These kinds of ideas need to be commercialized. And government participation is important too. Great video👍
Thank you so much! Totally agree!
4:09 lolol his face about the pause-design
😂😂
I'm glad you showed the planing idea, and why you scrapped it. I was having the same thought.
Interesting proof of concept, but we really like the texture!
@@BrothersMake Yeah. It's unique, which sets it apart from most plastic products. Emphasizing the recycled look.
Imagine a world that all used plastic would become such a masterpiece , instead of polluting seas and forests. Nice work there guys , continue the good job 👍
Just love the green pinky
😂😂
Glad it turned out so great for you guys! Looks great and World-first Recycled Facemask Bench....I think so!
Thanks for the awesome job on the moulds! 🎉🎉
I'm so very grateful that folks are doing this!
We’re grateful for you for watching!
Each country should have this technology
I love the tecture, like a wood but save the woods 😍🥰💕
I absolutely love this! Discarded masks have become almost as bad as cigarette butts these days! It makes me sick to see them blowing around like tumbleweeds. Thnx for sharing this guys! Always love to see you on the forefront of the recycling battlefield!💙💙
Worse, at least here they are far worse.
Yes totally agree! Thanks for watching our video 🤙🏽🤙🏽
@Dog 🐕 I call my local hazmat whenever I see one on the ground outside of a store or at a gas pump. I suggest everyone adopt the practice, one can never be too safe. 0.003% of the population is at risk, we should stop everything, just for 2 weeks.
Great film, love the reveal location shot. Bench is awesome looking. Texture looks like pahoehoe lava. Mahalo for saving the planet! : )
Thanks! We had fun shooting that end sequence! Will have to look up pahoehoe lava 😅
Greetings from Russia! I really love your videos and have already learned a lot! You guys are so good and it's nice to look and listen to you :) I wish you all the most wonderful things in your life!
The incredible outcome from recycled PPE is a beautiful piece of artwork. The bench looks fantastic! The moulds look the part too, nicely engineered.
thank you so much Pat!
You kids are so smart. I love to watch your videos. I subscribed and am binge watching
Thanks for watching! 😊😊

This is so satisfying 😌

Taken your waste home and recycling can help keep our oceans animals free from plastic harm. Our beaches cleaner and somewhere to sit. Maybe our beaches should have loads of these benches as a reminder. Excellent video
Thanks so much Michael! That would be ideal 🙌🏼
I wash mine with the laundry.
I cut them up and use them as stuffing in throw pillows that I make for my home. Works great!
With all the volcano activity going on in the world maybe make a table with red, orange and yellow with a sprinkle of black plastic.
Cool idea
Great job guys ! This is a great way to use all the plastic junk that would otherwise be filling up landfills !
Thanks Timothy!
Super idea
Thanks!
This would be awesome for garden stepping stones,or to make a patio.
Great ideas!
This is really cool!
Thank you!
Cool bench bros.
Thanks!
These are true warriors ..
The color is special
Thank you for this, and for educating people around the world on recycling plastic waste! 💙💜
You are absolutely welcome! Thanks for watching!
You guys are wonderful and amazing
this is amazing! Gratest idea for recycling plastick and masks
Most useful thing that plastic has ever done, good job!
Thanks!
Fells like the machines and tolls are almost everything
Tolls?
You guys live my dream! Thank you for sharing, and hopefully we can collaborate when I have learned enough to start a business
Cool, great looking bench
Bournemouth beach is looking good.
How is the lateral strength of the bench? I’d be inclined to add a cross bar to help stiffen the bench up a little.
Great job guy. Looks fantastic
Thanks!!
Super Cool
MORE PLEASE
This is one of the best things you’ve made. Top work chaps.
Thank you Richard 🤙🏽
I love sharing your channel because my community is big on recycling and you give so many of us so many great ideas on how to use plastic recycle waste that we know is not getting recycled properly by our government.
Thanks so much for sharing! We’d love this am to become something that is more widely done!
Every country should import this benches
If only, would certainly use up a lot of the plastic that's lying around ☺️
Wonderful!
Wow 🤩
☺️
Beautiful. I cannot wait to make one of this
Amazing,
finding ways to re-use not only plastic waste but any kind of waste from food to even gadgets that are made from many different kind of materials but still be able to make something out of it is just amazing,
Yes absolutely! Thanks for watching!
Вы Молодцы!
You guys are amazing 🤩
This is really cool well done guys
Thanks so much!
We need to fund this
Yes!
Amazing work as always! Love how it turned out, and the colour is lovely
Thank you Anita 🤙🏽
Fabulous video thanks
Beautiful and useful 🤗
This is awesome guys! Have just sent a message to BCP council to see if it’s something that could get made to combat all this crazy plastic waste!
Love it!
Wow, awesome! Thank you 🤍🤙🏽
Now that it's been a year since your comment, I'm curious if you ever received a response!
Nice job!
Thanks!!
Awesome!
I like your plastic bensh it looks very nice may God bless you all
Man this is pretty innovative imagine all the park benches and cities we could build if we collected all the ocean plastic and melted it down. I really want to see a test comparing the strength of non steel mesh reinforced beams and reinforced beams.
Why these aren't in every public park and space is a mystery! I would also love to see kids play equipment made from the same recycled material
That would be awesome!
@@BrothersMake , will the sun degrade or weaken it?
@@sand3882 there are plenty of products made of plastic for outdoor use. Plenty of places have recycled plastic benches, very similar to these ones. Plastic composite decking is made to be outside for decades. Adding uv stabilizer is very common, and it almost negates the uv degradation issues.
@@littlejackalo5326 , thank you for responding to my question. I am aware that these recycled benches are all over the place. A lot of these are being made as "projects" for schools and groups. I don't imagine they all consider UV stabilizer, so my question was about how much they would degrade without any additives.
My heart is melting for this work .. amazing 👏
this is amazing!!! Thank you for taking on this unique project!!
Look how beautiful and neat their work came out ... stunning , creative , knowledgeable , skilled and beatifully presented 🎁
Absolutely amazing job! Would say i cant believe how good it looks but with you 2 making it of course it came out great!
I just watched this video and was thinking of things to do like this. One idea I had was to make strips for chain link fences. You wouldn't have to buy them just make your own. Of course I only have a small amount of fencing so it wouldn't be so daunting.
Gracias muchachos, una muy buena forma de reducir el impacto medioambiental, que la pandemia con todos los insumos médicos descartables ha sumado. Gracias!
Good job. I love it. Beside you two a so 🥰
Beautiful....
You could make large benches for schools or study tables for schools with this method
I like how you use normal woodworking tools to show how accessible this is for everyone but (and I imagine I'm not the first to suggest this) I wonder if some kind of hot wire cutter might be a lot less wasteful. That way you wouldn't have all the stray shavings to worry about.
Great end product! Well done, guys!
well done! Wery good idea
Excellent job guys.
handheld electric planer
Thats nice bench really nice.
This video earned you a subscriber!
Good job
Thanks!
So cool. Once again incredible and inspiring work
I have lot's of ideas to use these recycled plastics...just dont have the time and tools to do it...i wish one day i can join your team...
Love to watch you guys. Always great results°
Thank you!
Amazing job keep going
Seriously, such a cool project!
Thank so much!
id like to see you build a whole tree house like this.
Love it
Very cool! It would be so easy to add another vertical support thingy underneath if desired
Shared you out on my channel fb page, with so much PPE waste in the world right now, what you have done is incredible!!! Well done guys I love it!!!!!
Thank you so much!
Wow! That came out amazing! I really love the texture. Almost looks like shou sugi bon.
Thank you! We love the texture!
Чуваки вы крутые 😎
You guys are the best
You're the best.
Its so amazing that we can take these once disposable plastics and turn them into something beautiful and useful again
Love the bench. A couple of comments. You could embed some rebar in the plastic to avoid snapping. And I wish we could see more of the pelletizing. How do they get rid of the metal nose strip? Or do they simply grind it and incorporate them into the pellets?
Inserting rebar could work. But it would also make the final product significantly harder to recycle in the future. Not sure how they remove the strip. There is no evidence of it in the plastic as it would damage our machines. Possibly using magnets during the shredding stage?
Thanks!
Wow I really like this bench. I would have it in my garden!,😍
Thank you!
This is a brilliant idea 💡. Well done.
Thank you Garry!
Very nice
U done great job
Way to go 😎 I can’t wait to see what you guys make next.
Thanks Sam!
Watching the extrusion reminded me of a senior year university field trip to a place that produced high-density foam extrusions. As our group walked through one room, an alarm went off, and a couple guys ran in to saw off the stuck end and hope the foam would continue extruding instead of cooling in the pipe. All went well.
That is absolutely amazing, great job on showing how it can be done. I wish you guys were make them for other to buy I know I would buy one or two of them.
