Sometimes I feel as if I’m doing the job of some of the nurses..the stories are endless and there were a few times that I felt like walking away. It took everything in me to not do so. I work as an occupational therapist.i have been for over 22 years. So much has changed over the years. I worked in peds for over 10 years and loved it. Now I’m back in a SNF and i have mixed feelings. I started working in my current facility in 2013, 6 years ago and over 200 patients have died. It took its toll on me and I pulled back but Medicare reimbursement forced us to pull back with lack of hours.I stay because of the patients, but honestly after much soul re-searching I need to move on..or go sell oranges somewhere, lol! You can never get use to death. Although we were taught not to get close to patients, you cant help but do so.

I know the feeling , my last semester which is this semester. I was on the palliative care floor, at my rotation. Two of my patients passed, back to back .One my second week, on the floor. The next one, the following week. It's one of those situations like, you know it comes a long with the field. But man, I wasn't expecting to be the first one to have their patient past. You get use, to it overtime. Those oxygen tanks, are so heavy. When do you graduate for LPN? I graduate on the 15th,so excited. @Nursing With Key

Nursing With Key It sucked, but you get use to it. It will fly by, in no time. How old are, you? I'm 23 and thank you. Now it's time to study, for the Nclex.
