I've been to all those and Mullet is the one I prefer, the beaches all have a different vibe , one thing they all have in common is that beautiful azure color that is remarkable to see, after spending time in the caribbean I understand why the other oceans don't quite measure up. I also love Orient beach but seems when I've been there the seaweed is heavy , love your videos Phil!
Phil, love your videos on St. Maarten, your camera work is exceptional. My wife and I have been to the island 3 times on different cruises and are now planning on spending a week there around Thanksgiving to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Is there a part of the island you prefer to stay on? We will probably get a house or condo on VRBO or Airbnb and want to be close to the water. Also, have you done any videos on restaurants on the island, there must be some great places to eat there? Thanks again for your videos, I've subscribed and love watching them.
How do u not bring up maho lol jk great video i have been going to st.maarten for 16 years straight and will be heading there with my girlfriend at the end of august, i see the people are hard at recovering after irma which i happened to just get off the island in time. In fact my flight left 2 days before it hit. All in all great choice i love all the beaches i hope st.maarten still looks the same, let me know how it feels to any of you. I heard it was quieter like the way it use to be years ago. And you earned my sub!
Robert Meyer Thanks for watching! It’s funny that I didn’t talk about Maho! To be honest, I never think of going there for beach reasons. Feels more like an attraction. You were lucky to get off the island right before the storm! It is quieter and I have heard similar things to it feeling like SXM from 30 years ago. The rebuilding is moving fast though so it won’t feel like that for long! Thanks for the sub!
I really should have mentioned it in my video! Can't believe I didn't. It's a spectacular place to be to view planes. I will have to make a video that only covers that beach when I return in October.
philphriday yea lol i have been in love with airplanes ever since ive gone there its inspired me to try to become a pilot im enrolling in aviation in school next year. But yea i stay at simpson bay what about you. Also i have a 15 minute video on this account that i edited on the airplanes at maho
I work with St. Martin Sotheby's Realty so I spend most of my time in the Cupecoy, Terres Basses, and Orient Bay area. I love going to Simpson Bay for the nightlife. Congrats on the aviation school! Achieve those goals! Looking forward to seeing more of those aviation videos from you.
Depends on if you plan on getting a car, taxi. I would HIGHLY suggest taking a taxi up to Orient Beach for the day. $30 USD will get you 2 lounge chairs and umbrella. The water is typically calmer and has a long shallow entry into the water; perfect for your 1 year old. In addition, there are many food places all right there, and, the best part, there is public restrooms and a shower. If you go there, I HIGHLY recommend eating at Le Deouze. It's the very last restaurant as you're exiting Ave des Plages.
@@nine2-5voyager We will be bringing a baby car seat and the plan was to take a taxi, would it be better to rent a car? I have been to Orient Beach before, but it was back in 2012.
Getting a taxi would be most economical. While a car would only cost about $35 for the day, they'll require a deposit (upwards of $800) on a credit card. Plus, you'll have to fill it up and check for damages etc. Bring small bill cash for the day trip. Enjoy!
Thank you Patrick. I think that a taxi would be the best option since renting a car takes some time. Do you know the cost from the cruise port in Philipsburg to Orient bay? I don't want to get ripped off, been there done that 😣
@@extrakimF In September, we paid $3 per person but we stayed in the Phillipsburg area. I would expect it to be $30 - $60 one way... and remember, you can haggle (just a little, not too much to offend).
See you in June 2021 thanks for the tour

Carol Slomer thanks for watching! Mullet is the most popular for a reason. It's so beautiful there and the ocean is always so clean.
My favorite is Happy Bay Beach. Pack a light lunch and water. Hike back to Frair's Beach for music, entertainment.
Thanks Phil! Would you happen to know which beaches are best for snorkeling?
I’ve never snorkeled in sxm, but I see people doing it at mullet beach by the rocks sometimes. Sorry I don’t have more info.
Great info 😊 Please suggestion for 3 beaches from ship using taxis Thanks

Ojalá reconstruyan más rápido el Club Orient aunque lo bueno es que la playa nudista Orient Bay Beach sigue normal.
Gracias 🇦🇷🇺🇾
Thank you for the information.
Victor E. Santos thanks for watching!

How to get to St. Maarten if the airport is closed since 12 months due to storm damage?
We went to St Maarten in August on a cruise ship, but I don't think that the airport is closed.
@@extrakimF Have You seen planes landing or taking off on St. Marten ?
