- An absolutely beautiful venue, I managed to fly my kite for about 30 minutes before being advised by a Park Ranger that kite flying is not allowed in this National Park - wind was around 25-35 mph, and the landscape made it feel like flying on another planet!
Equipment of choice was a B-Series Pro Mid Vent (3 wrap) and Pro Xtra Vent (3 wrap) with 13" handles and 30'x50# LPG lines.

Killing skills (hi John !), killing video (hi Takako !), as always... That said, I'm curious about the reasons for the interdiction of kites in this national park, could you tell us more ?
Alomphega My best guess, is that kites are not specifically disallowed, but more so that the Rangers didn't know what to do and erred on the side of safety (remember that the USA is very liability-afraid)... Although I was operating *completely* safe for all, I didn't feel like arguing the point.

As a general rule its all national parks that dont allow kites. Has to dowi th visual disturbance and impact on local wildlife. Good footage as always.
Not doubting, but where can one find this information?
listed on the parks website, or if you ask at the ranger station. There are many things not allowed, ie. paragliding, snowkiting, kites in general, planes, radio controlled aircraft, snowmobiles and off road vehicles (not all parks have this restriction) etc....

You cant pull that off with 25mph winds
Surely can, with the right kite - now I fly the Djinn by Kite Forge, highest wind model is rated up to 55mph. Even in this video, the kite flown in the last part is a B-Series Xtra Vent (no longer made) and the winds were around 35mph. 😉
