- The City of Vancouver is planning to take down a piece of guerilla art that popped up under a bridge at Victoria Drive and East Broadway earlier this month. Angela Bower speaks to Vancouverites who love the giant spider - and some who hate it.
Instead of taking down the spider, the City should clean up the enormous amount of garbage they have allowed to accumulate along the train tracks.
I noticed that also. min 0.40 looks horrible.
If it was the city that had commissioned this they would’ve spent $1 million on it!
The city should have higher priorities.
They have a sense of art, that's the kind of art we need
I hope there is an option to petition
In Scottsdale, they put iron art under bridges and around.
I say replace it with a full size giant animatronics robot spider which overlooks skeletons hanging from very sticky webs.
The gestapo against a cardboard spider....
it was made from old car parts, not cardboard...

Thats such a cool piece of art.why take down public displays.this is censorship
Great way to care such miniscule things while homelessness and drug OD's are at an all time high 🥴
I have arachnophobia but don’t understand why this can’t stay. It’s literally in no ones way. And it makes an otherwise boring/dead space more interesting
Why not figure out how to clean all the garbage thats covering that entire transit route before you remove the one thing thats kinda cool
The raindrops will wash the spider out.
(clap clap clap...) Well played, sir
We have a huge Cockroache sculpture in Ottawa that won't be removed, oh wait! It's just Trudeau standing still, my bad
It's true they should have priorities... Take out the garbage first.
Bet if they painted it rainbow colors it would be left alone. Celebrated even.
maybe you should paint a rainbow on your face then
Is that…is that a bad thing? Is the argument being made here the celebrating minorities right to a happy life is bad, like what?
@@anagonyaowusu3119 Double standards are what he's pointing out. And yes, double standards are bad.
@@glennhankins6927 Lol? Those aren’t the same standards though? The city having giving preference towards a mural put up for an out-spoken minority group and them wanting to tear down an art sculpture…I…um, I feel are two different things?
@@anagonyaowusu3119 The LGBTQ community receives special treatment. I'm 100% against this. Every citizen deserves EQUAL treatment by society.
They claim to be seeking INCLUSIVITY, but THEY EXCLUSIVELY receive a parade in their honour. Where is the parade for Irish people who suffered slavery? Where is the parade for our homeless? Homeless Canadians are the most marginalized by society, not LGBTQ.
Yes! Vancouver is so conservative and fucken boring compared to many other countries. I love this art piece.
The city has a massive homeless problem deal with that instead!

Good riddance, I hate spiders
spiders probably contribute more to the planet than you ever did
