Currently in the himalayas and I used so many of your tips. Mainly selecting a static point in the frame and using Spotlight mode. Thank you for all the tips.
Omg. I've followed you guys for years, what have you been taking? Loving the new energy you have injected into your videos. Thanks for all the videos, keep up the great work.
I do actually. Started doing it so that my solo active track shots stood more chance of success when I hid the controller in a backpack. Nudging the stick would ruin the move.
Awesome!!! Just returned from Scotland but going back in 3 weeks! Looking forward to trying some of these shots when I get beck there! Thank you so very much!!!
That scenario reminds me to death stranding, at any moment, sam porter will pass by with his delivery backpack. But, seriously, what a masterpiece of video, i learned so much!
Excellent video as ever. I’ll be coming back to this one in the future as a reminder. My skills have definitely improved as a result of your many videos. 🙏
Some really good shot ideas, thank you and for the clear albeit fast paced instructions. What was the end result, how would you put all those shots together??
Great question. This is really a library of shots so there's no attempt to tell a story as such. Always a good idea to try and create some kind of intrigue by opening with an establishing shot, then maybe a close up of walking feet, then introduce a person and keep going by trying to build some kind of flow. Even it's just a personal project or a travel film, you can still create a 'story' by not just showing everything in the first shot.
These are soooo creative, that first one was especially clever! Edit: could you do a tutorial on the waypoint mode(s) in the event you're flying alone?
Love your channel. I'm a noob Neo pilot, and this video in particular has been brilliant. I have a ton of questions, but here's two- what lights (like you use towards the end of the vid) would you recommend for the neo, and what's your opinion in the third party accessories, like tailfins, landing gear etc? Would love to see a vid on simple nodding for the neo...
Hey! I didn't understand the question about lights. If it's the shot of me talking towards the end then it does look like I have an artificial light on me but it's actually just natural light. Regarding accessories, we've never actually used any to be honest but that's not to say they couldn't be useful - it's just never come up.
Hi Stewart & Alina! A really cracking video, superlatives fail me.... I shall be taking notes and practicing some of these. Thank You So Much!! BTW drones here are Mini 2, Mini 3Pro, Mavic 3 Pro and recently bought Neo and Avata 2
The difficult part will be to find a similar fantastic location where we are alowd to fly :_) Great Video, I do believe Alina had the hardest job though.
Fantastic Tutorial! Keep them coming! How do you get on using no sticks on the RC2? I never use them with the N series controllers but to me it just doesn’t feel right on the RC or RC2…
Absolutely brilliant love your tutorials…I do challenge you to do Urban film tutorial..as living in city have complication !!! Edinburgh castle spring to mind up for it 🤣🤣 well done excellent filming
Great video!! I‘ll need to train some of these moves. The parallax was amazing, could you do a tutorial video how to achieve this with a Mini 4 pro (or similar just with digital zoom)?
Brilliant filming, excellent lessons. Think my wee mini 2 would manage some of those shots so long as it’s not blowing a hooley here in Manchester. Noted that all shots are able to be done on most drones with controllers AND you not using joysticks. Do you find it easier without? Keep doing what you both do… fab..
Thanks for the comment! I find it easier to lock in moves without shake going through the sticks. Started doing it for solo active track when putting the controller in the bag though.

Hi mate, love the video. One on the stabilisation, it seems the the frame is more shaky when you show in the raw format and then after post production editing you bring the frame in to what aspect ratio ? and what tool do you use for stabilisation in post?
Hey! There's no post-production stabilisation on the footage so I wonder if the issue is that the playback of the screen capture is a bit stuttery because it's 60 fps footage playing back on a 25 fps timeline. The actual drone footage is 25 fps so it's smooth. The dropped frames of the screen capture footage could be what you are seeing.
Thank you! Started doing it so that my solo active track shots stood more chance of success when I hid the controller in a backpack. Nudging the stick would ruin the move. Now I'm just used to flying like that and TBH I think I do get more control.

Now I'm just used to flying like that and TBH I think I do get more control. For the antenna, the flat part is meant to be pointed at the drone for optimal signal strength. With O4 transmission on the likes of an Air 3, it's not something you need to give too much thought to though.
Interesting. Nice moves and all of this even without the sticks attached to RC. But 2 days of shooting - you're a lucky guy to have a girlfriend or wife like Alina with a lot of patience.
I don't know what is more beautiful: the landscape or Alina. What a great video.
Alina 👈🏼
Thanks! Great motivation!
Wow, thank you very much!!!
Thanks
Wow! Thank you so much for this!!
I would LOVE to film in a location like that....soooooo much beautiful scenery!
That was a fun watch with great scenery. The shots are really good moves to use. Thanks for sharing the tips and the lovely Scottish area!

Thanks so much for the kind words!
Wow, this is the best video I've seen for demonstrating cinematic drone shots! Excellent work! 👍
Great footage Stewart.👍 do you find moving the drone easier without the joysticks attached.?
Same question here🇳🇱
I do actually. Started doing it so that my solo active track shots stood more chance of success when I hid the controller in a backpack. Nudging the stick would ruin the move.
@@DroneFilmGuide ahh makes sense Stewart, must try that out.
Thanks for the reply
I tried once. It's easy.

Amazing shots❤
Thank you 🙌
Great shots, very cinematic. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic Fantastic scenery, sadly the last time i visited Scotland was before drones!!
This was an awesome video. It wasn't the usual, put the sticks this way. You put the sticks and showed the video to go with it. Thanks
Great demonstration Video excellent for Newbies, Well done.
thank you for sharing us , this give a new lesson to learn. ❤

I noticed you aren't using sticks but directly the controllers screws, any reasons for that? thanks and as always brilliant guides and edits
Thank you! Started doing it so that my solo active track shots stood more chance of success when I hid the controller in a backpack. Nudging the stick would ruin the move. Now I'm just used to flying like that and TBH I think I do get more control.
Thoughts on the new DJI air 3s? Video soon?
Maybe at some point. We're trying to focus on some more tutorials like this at the moment.
I’ve noticed your using the controller without the sticks inserted. Does that make the movements smoother?

Spotlight at timestamp 10:30 was really effective.
So no sticks give you more control i assume ?
New drinking game: Take a shot every time you hear Alina.

You don't use sticks on the controller? 😮 And the antennas are always tilted 90 degrees... Can you explain why? 🤔
