47 yo now! I still love this mixtape, so fun, discovered it in 98 or something, was going on my 2nd university year. i met Matt Cantor (who mainly did this mixtape) at Le Rex in Paris 2 years after, i remember making a suggestion via my phone, writting "BBoy Stance" and sticking the phone on the Dj booth glass, he made a face saying "Oh man, i don't know about that one, maybe it's not the crowd" I nodded to say yes it is, he finally put it and crowd went crazy. I turned to him, we both smiled at the result. a very nice and sweet man, we drank a few glasses together talking about everything, very chill and sinmple. Good times!
When I've heard my first Future Sound of UK album in 1999 with Wise Guys Ooh la la, Freestylers and so many so good music... Good old teen years! And now it's the end of 2021... I'm turning 40 now and still love it! Some things are never change.
I got this stuck in the car stereo on cassette when it came out so everytime I started the engine it would start literally heard it thousands of times - It was like funky breaking dejavu time travelling... I didn't want to force it out just in case it rooted the cassette
Thanks for posting.. this is actually Disc 1 of the Freestylers FSUK #2 Mix album - full track list here: www.discogs.com/Freestylers-The-FSUK2/master/19611.
Awesome, there's 3 and 4. I didn't know. Going to check them out now. Here's a link to no 1. There's two CDs. Both excellent. www.mixcloud.com/OlDsKoOlRaVeRsUnItE/derek-dahlarge-fsuk-disc-1/
This FSUK series is good except the first one. I just got it and it's fucking terrible. The first one is mixed by Derek Dahlarge. I know he's a good dj because I've heard other stuff from him. But fsuk 1 sucks. There's no mixing or DJing at all. It's just a compilation with the songs fading into each other. I was so disappointed with it. There's no mixing or scratching or anything. He just let's the songs play normally. The first disc is ok but the 2nd one is terrible. A dj mix is supposed to be mixing different records to different beats and stuff. Not just letting the songs play normally. Anybody can pick a bunch of songs and put them together on a CD. The other fsuk volumes are great. Especially FSUK3 by Bentley Rhythm Ace. That one is great.
This is truly dreadful! It doesn't mix well, and I am not moving. Get into one track, and then it changes into something that doesn't fit the moves/mix.

Awesome comment. This is also me. I'm 48 now. And for real, I still love this, so much.

Peter and the wolves remix is probably the bestest mash ever. I agree though, but many gems can be found on fsuk1.
