at best jennifer was willfully ignorant. HOW many people had to tell her not to let him sleep with little girl!!! She either knew or was neglectful beyond belief.. and preferred to stay drugged up and sedated rather take care of her poor kid.

Soooo many photos found. That shows how many times this happened. This wasn’t one or two times. So my question is, when , where, where was mom ALL THOSE TIMES??
Maybe if you listen to all of the audio's of interviews, keep an open mind, try to have understanding and compassion, or leave some space for it, it can give you a broader perspective of how things were and how they lived, and how Jenn is as a human. Just try to feel some empathy for their and her story, it might help to understand better the when and where and how and why.......just sayin'.

Why wouldn't we question Jen's involvement? I find it really bizarre that listeners are removed for having a difference of opinion.
It’s very important to look at Jen. But access to Maddie was Stephan’s full time career goals. If you understand what groomers do, you would know they can manipulate a victim into believing the sky is purple. Jen believes the sky is purple. As a result, Stephan had full access to Maddie. He convinced Maddie into a silence where she told no one. Instead her grades fell, her behavior was precocious, and she was drugged at night while Stearns did his thing. To focus on Jen is missing the larger point: Groomers are very skilled.

Jennifer is not the only person that gave a preditor access to her child. Watch Peacocks "Friend of the Family". Look at the news. This happens alot. Maddie is not the only victim. Cherish Perrywinkle was also murdered. because her mother fell victim to a preditor.

I hope that tools like googles image matching technology can track down more predators. And hope that we learn how to redirect their selfish needs towards more healthy interests.
oh Cherish, that was a brutal case, I watched the trial and recall the woman who did the autopsy breaking down with a panic attack when recounting her testimony. The worst of the worst.

While "perhaps" not criminally culpable, the parents (aka Mom Debbie) provided a safe haven for an almost 40 year old man who did nothing but sleep during the day and play child's games. They bankrolled his nothing life, and KNEW he had every attribute of a deviant at the least. An awful perfect storm of negligence found it's way to beautiful Maddie....who's life was accosted until it was brutally ended by this human depraved monster. Nobody was there to protect Maddie....and there WERE those that saw the signs of danger all around her.
ASTHMA....Jenn rarely says that Maddie had asthma....just the stuff that blames Maddie, "she's abnormal".💚💜

Imagine being a mother on the news speaking about your missing child. You think she’s been abducted and you don’t cry out to this supposed abductor that your child has asthma and could die without her inhaler and to PLEASE bring her home.
Instead Jenn just talks about how Maddie is so forgetful and probably doesn’t know her own address.

I lost my eldest daughter (25) to mental health, I lost the plot. I wasn’t watching my other kids as close as I usually would, i kinda of got wrapped up in my own being and mental health, it was my eldest son who told me to pull myself together… by the grace of god I didn’t become a target for a predator in turn making my kids victims.. I was lucky when I look back on it, I was lucky my other kids came through unscathed. But I can honestly see how a predator could have jumped on me and had the pick of my other 5 kids.. I feel sorry for Jenn. She didn’t get a chance to see, and stop it. Maddie was abused and killed by sterns, and sterns alone. She was selfish, as I was at points.. but if she’d have known for sure what he was doing and what would happen, I’m sure she would have stopped it.. she was too doped up and asleep to see what was going on.

I agree 100%. I was a single mother to three, and also lived with severe mental health struggles. I too am lucky I never dated and never fell victim to a grooming predator like that. They are everywhere, and vulnerable people don't recognize them soon enough.

Jenn is devastated for herself, she has to go back to being what she sees herself as and why she kept a loser like SS around and in her bed even after they were considered broken up, Jenn operates more from a sense of "self" then anything. Get real, Jenn looks older than her mother and her mother even looks more desirable, that's a lot to live with.....rest Maddie.💚💜

Ive seen many cases of mothers who couldnt do half of what Jen did regarding child care, their children were removed, in one case even worse. Ppl dont understand mental health at all, they think its fake, an excuse, or something akin to feeling down.
Jen looks bad in the days after her daughter went missing, but in all her pics she was beautiful... she was self centered and worried an awful lot about her looks and her meds but I'm sure mental health had a little to attribute to that. Pretty sure she'll look at life a lot differently now tho. I think she's in a mental institution (if there are any left here in FL... she probably had to go to a different state) and she'll probably be in it a looooong time. Poor chic.

Maddie was old enough for regular dental and physical check-ups, was she getting that?? Or no job no medical coverage for the child, did Maddie's teeth look like she was getting regular cleanings? regular physical exams would have revealed the abuse to her body...don't cry Jen a river...rest in love Maddie💚💜
I think she knew, I don't think she ever talked about it, I don't see any conversations being had, maybe in person, but texts or photos, no. I don't think she was involved, I think she knew though. I also think she blamed Maddy in her mind, which is why they had such a terrible relationship. Hence the woody allen comments, she knew, she just put her head in the sand and chose not to protect her child because she blamed her. I do not think she knew he would physically harm her. I don't think there is a way to prove she medicated herself to hide from it though. She has to live with that.
I will add, no one is going to know she knew, she reminds me of those mothers, that ignore the abuse even when they walked in on it. They don't talk about it, they are just not good people. They do exist and they do get jealous of their daughters, her mental illness sets her up for that.

No, she did not know. You are under the wrong perception. If you delve more into the story and learn about Jenn as a human, and understand better her struggles, you might have a better perspective. Jenn truly did not know. Parents DO let it happen, but in this case, that was NOT the case. She did not let it happen.

Anyone can believe whatever they want to believe and still be wrong. Jen believed Stephan would never hurt Maddie. She was wrong. Maybe your belief is wrong too. Evidence is vital before convicting a person in the court of public opinion, unless you want to convict people based on their beliefs.

Here’s the thing. Sterns groomed them for years now and medication became standard. We need to learn all facts before we throw judgement at Jen, I can’t imagine how devastating it is now and it’s like looking back. We need to think fairly. One thing is over medication and I would not put it past Sterns to do something similar as Bill Cosby. I agree it looks really bad but there were so many prescriptions and easy to overdose. She took what he says as fact and it's natural sometimes to represent you & ur partner as a cohesive unit.

I agree. Some people need to do some self reflection to understand why they are stuck in this mindset of vilifying Jennifer. Tunnel vision is a horrible trait some of these people have. All of the evidence is being given to us, to help us understand why Stephen Sterns is the only one being charged with this crime. We can all learn from this case.

If your not mentally stable then by would you think bringing a child in the world is going to make it better? She obviously showed signs of making bad choices. Why would you allow yourself to o er Medicate yourself to wear it would clear your judgement? If she knew to have gastric bypass and get Botox and file disability for PTSD for having a one night stand as she stated. Why could she not put that kind of attention to the red flags? Sending your daughter to bed w a sexually active man is normal? When everyone is telling her no it’s not? I’m a 50 yr old woman and work in medical field and maybe she has medical issues was she in counseling to make sure she’s doing the best to be a good mom an her own well being? I’m sure if she had given it some concern the Dr would have assured her no it’s wrong! It’s a choice she made to not see the red flags please stop using mental illness as an excuse for her. Maybe she didn’t know that for years he was abusing her yet her concern was making sure her Botox appointments were not missed bravo mom your priorities were yourself not your kid.

For a possible answer to your question: Jenn says it - she really believed Stephan was her best friend who would never hurt Maddie. Jenn thought Stephan loved Maddie like a Father. Now we know how horribly wrong Jenn was....
That being said, at Maddie's age it would not be appropriate for Maddie to sleep with her Father or Father figure. And Jenn also says that she wasn't fully comfortable with it but she told herself it was like a sleepover between 'buddies'.
It took 7 years of grooming by Stephan to get Jenn this comfortable and gain this level of access to Maddie.
She let Maddie sleep with SS because if he didn't, that meant she would have to. From all the interviews it's evident Maddie was annoying to sleep with and kept her awake. It's also evident from other family members that Maddie thought she HAD to sleep with someone. It's Stephan's long game, it's pedophile 101. He made Jen believe it was her and Maddie's idea that they sleep together, that way Maddie had someone to cuddle, and mom got her much needed sleep.
It's the only thing I think Jen is lying about to date- how often she 'let' them sleep together. But I don't blame the abuse on that .... he was abusing her long before she 'sent' them to bed together.

I noticed alll the other creators have opted to skip the July 16th interview with Chris that states why they're not charging Jen. After the recent "Dad's" interview came out yesterday or day before, the same creators are skipping right over Steven's interview and concentrating on Tyler's interview bc Tyler didn't know her at all and only said negative stuff about her. But they didn't say ish about Tyler's family sleeping in the bed with Maddie!

@@43ShaDey Most of the 6-7 years the child was molested under the same 1470 square foot roof she lived under, that just proves the level of neglect. If Maddie was getting regular physical exams the signs of abuse would show on her body, oh yeah, Jen wasn't working enough to earn medical coverage.

Hey Gray, the parents have flipped. They actually said they NOW BELIEVE STEPHAN KILLED MADDIE and Jenn was NOT PART OF IT. However, they're still somewhat in denial and still throw some shade at Jenn. I wish this "grooming info" was taught in school.

This is very helpful just listening back what you have here. Thank you. I don’t think Jen knew what was happening and groomers they know what they are doing. I can’t imagine how Jen feels, she trusted him. It bothers me because I grew up with a single mom who was on medication. I wish people would take a moment to understand that a single parent who absolutely loves her child, and all of the meds prescribed, it’s so easy for a creep to worm his way in. Jen is devastated I’m sure.
Yep! I agree! I've been saying this since day 1. She absolutely loved her daughter. You can tell just by the simple face she allowed Maddie to sleep with her in her bed every night. Only a loving parent would do that. Poor Jen, she got scammed by someone she trusted.
My stepdad was amazing and so I had the benefit of really being protected and loved. Please don’t judge Jen . Wait until there’s proof. Otherwise, she lost her daughter and she will never get her back. Please try to think about how hard. She was absolutely on several medications for depression. I’m bipolar. I’m on a lot of meds. I have three children and I think Jen is devastated not guilty.
I would LOVE to know how he threatened Maddie because they can't find one person that she confided IN even a little bit.
Predators are excellent groomers. They say things like 'if you tell anyone, they'll send YOU away, 'if you tell your mom, she will hate US', 'if you tell your mom or anyone, they won't believe you because you are just a kid', 'if anyone finds out it will destroy your mom......you wouldn't ant to hurt her, would you?', 'if you ever tell, I will tell them it was your fault and they will believe me because I'm a grownup', if you tell then you'll never see your family again, or your pets, or your toys, or your friends or your school, they'll send you far, far away!', 'it's your fault for letting me do it', 'i love you so, so, so much because you are my favorite, do you think I'd ever hurt you??? I love you too much, if you tell I might die of a broken heart'.....and so on. A child cannot navigate all of the feelings in all of that.
Predators andSA abusers are good at keeping their victims quiet with all those manipulative reasons to not tell but I still believe Jen knew! I wish I were wrong but…

Gray, I LOVE your channel. I love your attitude and replies to dumb comments, I love that you very directly call out the BS, I love that you love animals (which says A LOT about someone), you are compassionate and caring and do great things to help humanity, I love that you are exactly who you are and ALSO, that you have common sense, the ability to discern things, empathy, aren't afraid to tell people off who need it, you see the deeper truths of this case, you have compassion for Jenn, you truly understand mental health/illness on a level most people can't comprehend. I live with Borderline Personality Disorder, Complex PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Severe Anxiety, and everything else attached to all of that. IT's a living death of sorts to live with this, and it's hard to convey the struggle. We are just generally seen as people who can't get their shit together. On some profound level, I suppose it's true. But not in the way others interpret it. You are one of the very few in my life I've ever heard talk about it with some great insight and understanding, and that matters to me so, so, so much more than all the nonsense spewed from others who have NO CLUE and act so righteous. Thank you for your honesty and everything. I am grateful you are out here and keeping it real.
p.s. as a child victim of my stepfather, 11 years of SA abuse, starting at around 3 yrs of age, having been groomed and through the experience.....all of the bullet points you read out loud about the way the grooming happens, the abuse, the mental breakdown of the child, the trauma, the way it happens and why and how......100% the truth. I say that with 100% experience. It's a heavy burden to bear, and more people need to understand the effects it has on people who have endured this.
