So this song is about a man who goes into surgery, and he is fighting for his life, which explains the part about Brendon "fighting" against all of the doctors. But in the end, he doesn't make it through the surgery and they show him in a coffin. When he says "If you love me let me go" he means that his family (and friends) shouldn't be sad for too long, but instead be happy that they got to spend time with him. Him dying would also explain Brendon running into the light. Did I get that right?
