The Astrospurt is KMA’s take on the lush and atmospheric 4-stage JFET phaser. Often known for its one-knob design, KMA has elevated this classic phaser circuit to modern standards, sporting controls for speed, depth, mix, overall level as well as a unique emphasis mode, which opens a whole new world of crackling, screaming and oscillating phaser tones.
But that’s far from where the sonic journey ends. On the inside you’ll find 4 DIP switches, which lets you turn this pedal into everything from a growling distorted space-engine ready for take-off to a glitchy laser-firing ray gun built on alien technology.

This is probably the most interesting phaser pedal I've heard in my life, great demo as usual, I really like that you always show how the pedal you demo works with other effects, gives you a more complete view of it

Doing god's work :D They added all these awesome features that take this pedal apart from the other phasers and they hid them inside.

I'd buy this pedal if the dip switches were outside.

I actually like this phaser. The slight glitch in the phase when messing with the inner switches is outstanding.

So if you just need to infuse your tone with some subtle movement, then I would always recommend a Phaser for the job, and the KMA Astrospurt is one heck of an awesome and lush-sounding phase shifter :) Thanks for watching and commenting. 1 question: I believe my small, old ass amp has too much static noise to use these crazy parts, without producing this way too loud beeeeping sounds. Is that possible or is it just normal for this phaser? And can i get rid off them by using a noise gate or by cleaning the inside of my amp? It feels like i can just use half of the pedal
Is the fuzz like sound at 3:35 just from the astrospurt or did you add any other pedal to get that?

I’m using an Aston Origin in that demo. Great mic. Using the Aston Spirit for my demos now though, since it can handle extreme loudness better. I like to play loud 😊 Happy you enjoyed the demo 👌
would this phaser work with bass? I'm searching a good bass phaser. for clean and distortion/fuzz
Yeah, it’s awesome on bass. Brian Cook from Russian Circles uses it on his bass, and it sounds stellar 👌
They should put a tap tempo button or an exp control... But the sound is amazing! ...suggestion for V2 :)

OK, I'm in love with this pedal. Mission accomplished. Can you possibly tell me, when I'm applying the phase effect to my "meticulously sculpted dirt tones" ; ), if I can lock the sweep at any particular phase resonance point, the way you can on the Mr. Black GilaMondo? Thanks!
Happy you enjoyed the demo :) No, you can't lock in the resonance point of the phaser. But the Emphase mode will make things more resonant and bright, which can also produce great results alongside your meticulously sculpted dirt tones :D

Doesn't affect your tone in what way? There's no phasing? If so, there might be an issue with the calibration of the pedal. I recommend you contact KMA. They have great customer service 😊
hey man, Enrico here. Just shoot me an email and i will help you out. When it's not phasing then cause of the calibration, failed by the seller maybe, cause there is no pedal going out without a proper calibration. Pls let me know, and i will help you out.

Indeed, enjoy. I'm just partial to vintage mutron/thick soupy phasers ... some things should be old-school analog ... :)
These modern ones have more features tho', so ... tade-offs, etc ... And it sounds nice, for sure.
