Tac Cau pineapple is the most famous pineapple brand in the Mekong Delta ( Viet Nam). Pineapples have been grown and maintained on the island between Cai Lon and Cai Be rivers, Chau Thanh district, Kien Giang province for more than 70 years with excellent quality based on a unique ecology, a combination of three factors. : sweet - salty - silt. Therefore, Tac Cau cluster is the pride of many generations of Kien Giang people.
Tac Cau pineapple belongs to the Queen pineapple group - the group of pineapples with the highest quality being grown in Vietnam. The fruit's flesh is dark yellow, crispy, has a unique aroma, sweet taste, and does not burn the tongue thanks to the combination of alluvial soil with salinity and alum that few places have. Another difference is that due to intercropping with coconut and areca trees, pineapple fruits are less affected by direct sunlight, so the shape of the fruit is less likely to have tapering at the top like in areas where pineapples are specifically grown. In 2013, Tac Cau pineapple was granted a collective brand certificate.
Pineapple is used to make many delicious dishes: sour soup, stir-fry, hotpot, candy, pineapple jam, etc.
