- No way, that has to be clickbait, right? Well, we wish this was a joke, but no there is a piece of legislation kicking around in Albany that would do exactly that. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses NY S 5229, a bill that defines Glock switches, and makes them illegal. No problem, right? Yes, except the statute also bans Glock handguns because Glock switches can be installed to them. So learn how this would work if this becomes law and arm yourself with education today.

It's not just Glock, the text says any that can be converted. This will be used to ban all semi-automatics.
Which would leave us with nothing more than 5 round single action/double action revolvers,5 to 10 round bolt action rifles,and 1 to 7 round pump action 12 guage shot guns;while the totalitarian government and organized criminal enterprises all keeps their semi automatic & fully automatic select fire carbine rifles,machine pistols,and sub machine guns.If we want better guns in the future;we are all going to have to make acquaintances with people who sells all types of guns,on the black market.
Correct, any semi-auto that they deem "convertible". Coming from politicians that know absolutely nothing about firearms or the 2A.

Well, we were all just told by a judge in New York that the Second Amendment didn't apply in that state, so why is this new infringement a surprise? Remember, none of this has anything to do with public safety . . . it is ALL AND ONLY about civilian disarmament.

The bill already has cutouts for LEOs and military. Can't afford to have the LEO unions get upset, if they went against the bill it might have a much rougher time passing. As is, it's pretty much a slam-dunk in NY.

@@Badger77722 Glock does not have to sell to the NY PD or anyone else "carved out" if they don't to. Might as well write the entire state off as a loss instead of fighting this in court. In fact, any police weapons sent in for service need to be confiscated by Glock also.
The Cops don't need 2nd Amendment rights because the State which has all the guns gives them guns.
What prevents “convertible pistol” from being interpreted as any and all semi-auto pistols? After all, with the right modifications, any semi-auto pistol can become full-auto. AND; the word “Glock” is never used.

The Supreme Court isn't asleep, it's just that legislatures can pass laws far faster than the Supreme Court can overturn. Also, the government doesn't have any respect for the Supreme Court.

Glocks are not going anywhere.
It would not matter in NY State. Just like semiautomatic rifles, that met their definition of assault weapons. And magazines holding more than 10 rounds. Glocks will be banned with no grandfathering in. When the Safe act was passed. Gun owners in NY were told to sell them out of state. Or turn them all in.

The people that vote or sponsor these laws should have to demonstrate personally, on their own, without any assistance, how these products make a semi-automatic into a machine gun, then requiring them to actually fire this converted product in the manner they BELIEVE it’s supposed to work according to the propaganda they use to describe said product.
Banning something is one thing. Enforcing, or trying to enforce that ban is something altogether different.
Who's to say a state wouldn't pull any 4473s to determine who bought what, and start knocking on doors? Sure, police are overwhelmingly outnumbered by armed citizens, but does anybody want to be the test case?
Its important to note that this will not stop. These activist judges don't really care about the rule of law or the constitution. It doesn't matter what the supreme court says. As long as there are no repercussions for judges who are violating civil rights and the constitution then this will continue forever until rights become privileges and then nothing at all. The law, logic and reasoning will continue to be ignored for the safety of the public and our democracy.
So we will be sure to see the police not carrying Glocks in NY right

William, highly appreciate your videos. Wondering if you can do a video on the ban of “ghost guns” in Nevada soon? The new law bans the sale and possession of all unserialized firearms. This all comes after the poly80 (Dayton, NV based company) lawsuit which was aimed at preventing felons from obtaining (building) firearms but somehow, this law passed which prevents any Nevadan of possessing or manufacturing their own personal firearms anymore from a parts kit or 80% because they lack serial numbers. Hoping to get your opinion and presentation on this matter and many Nevadans are clueless what to do right now. It doesn’t appear there is a grandfather clause or a way to obtain a serial number for manufacture a personal firearm. Thank you!

This would make NY an even larger black market. This is probably the beginning of a larger attempt to ban all semi auto pistols. Just about any semi auto can be made full auto if a person has mechanical knowledge. CZ and Beretta have a full auto version of their most popular model
The challenge should be that any firearm that leaves the factory and is lawfully sold as a semiautomatic in function only , cannot be banned. It is only a felony to sell or possess a pistol that has been modified to fire in the fully automatic mode

Any semiautomatic gun can be modified to full auto. Actually with a solenoid or a small motor any revolver can be made full auto.

Hi-Point can't be sued because nobody ever hit their target. Most cases the bullet won't leave the gun.

Wouldn’t this basically make any similar striker fire pistol illegal as well by being potentially “convertible”? The number of pistols just based on the third gen Glock down to interchangeable parts is large indeed.
Video suggestions: crew served weapons in history. Some where in the back of my head I thought I learned in history somewhere that in the civil war cannon were owned by civilians. It might make an interesting video if you looked at the history of crew served weapons like cannon and if that history could be enough to drive a challenge to NFA.
Hey, I had a single shot revolver that when pulled correctly out, could be feathered to shot faster than a semi- auto. I was accurate doing it. 5 of 5 in 2 inches at 50ft. How can they block a single action that fast.

Not just Glocks! Many other pistols, e.g., many Berretas, AR and AK based pistols, have "converters" available, e.g., DIAS, Lightning Links, coat hangers, rubber bands, shoe laces, worn or modified fire control components,.... Just about everything will be illegal because nearly anything can be used to modify a firearm and become a "converter". Even a rock or sidewalk could be used to reprofile a component!

I live in Bronx NY I got my gun license when I went to pick my gun they told me I have to contact FBI before they can give me my Glock 19 gen 5 which I did now they have denied me from owning a gun

What does "dispose of" mean in this context? Does this make getting rid of a firearm illegal?
Also, is it "(transports or ships) as merchandise" or "(transports) or (ships as merchandise)".
A more clear reading for the former would imo be "who transports or ships, as merchandise, a convertible pistol".
I could see this easily being read such that you are banned from transporting your firearms.
You can still own it, just not take it anywhere, and knowing the NY DA, they might just read it this way on purpose.
The problem is the bill refers to convertible pistols so this is not glock specific its a move to ban ALL semi-automatic pistols as convertible pistols are any pistol that can be converted.!!
