We visited Trinity House when I was sixteen years of age and stayed with my uncle and aunt and found the history of the House to be very interesting. I have an original book given to me by my aunt Jessie on the history of Trinity House of Leith written by John Mason M.A. Ph.D. F.E.I.S. Captain John Robert K. Taylor served his apprenticeship at sea, knowing the wind's wild shriek and the sea's restless moving. It was the S. S. Majorca that he completed his last voyage. It was a pleasure and an honor to have met him.

My Uncle was Captain J. K. Taylor, who was also a Master of Trinity House. he was born on 24th May; 1889 and he died on 19th June, 1978. He married my Aunt Jessie who was my dad's sister. My father's family were raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am so proud to have been John Taylor's niece.

My ancestor was Captain Benjamin Hawkins (b.1773-d.1856). He was commander of the revenue cutter The Melville based in Leith.
