Um, what do I think, well your comparison video is one of the best I've seen. I own several rc's including an outcast 6s exb and I have a sledge on order, which will be my first traxxas. I think it looks incredibly well made. Thanks for sharing. John. Oh liked and subscribed.
Wheels/tires make a huge difference. If you ran truggy wheels like the Talions, the Sledge would be very similar. Would be cool to swap them and see the changes in each car. Looks like the Servo can be bumped up to 7.4v and the speed rating is then way better. External BEC might be a great upgrade. I think the Sledge is priced right due to the additional features like the motor cradle and body mount system. I really like having an internal cage to help strengthen the body.
Tires can certainly make a difference. Not so sure about the BEC though, with the cost and work of adding a BEC I wonder if a replacement servo would be better.
The bummer is how much it is knowing your going to be buying a servo also. Puts it almost at $900 for a good one The arrma def seems to have a better one included. Otherwise it looks great. I didnt mind as much with the erevo because it was a lot less.
@@Hobby365 i will say if it holds up , id rather change a servo then fix a difff. Ive got an Outcast exb servo laying around but wondering if the lead would be long enough and if its strong enough. Seems like a long run to the receiver box.
@@michaelmacisco2566 I took at look at a Spektrum servo lead and the sledge. You are right in thinking it is a long run. The lead will be about 2 inches short by my estimation. So a short extension lead will be required. Also in looking at the possible install there is a lot of unbolting that needs to be done to route the wire under the battery tray and though wire guides before getting to the receiver box. Still probably an easier job that replacing a diff gear and far less oily, but not really an easy job.
If you purchase the traxxas Bluetooth module for the controller you can really speed up that stock steering servo. $25.00 is alot cheaper than a new servo.
Sweet video 👍 I dig Traxxas has come out with an all new car/truck/truggy whatever you want to call it. Although it's a bit overpriced, I believe you are paying for a rugged rc. As you pointed out, a different servo is definitely needed. Pick up a faster servo, some race tires, and I'd love to see what it can do at Loganville RC Complex 😁
Great comparison...glad i found this video...i will for sure be watching you others ...The original talion was $549...then exb its now $749...if compare to standard kraton 6s $599 ..exb would be $799...the price for either brand is comparable...and if you look at the proprietary brand battery kits (traxxas/spectrum) for the same 5000mah battery x2 and the smart technology charger...the spectrum is $80 more..i think price is pretty much a wash
Considering the price of Everything increasing...and the incredible amount of engineering in this..I don't think it's too over priced... 750 would seem somewhat fair..so 8 hundo...eh..ok!

Great review! Thanks for taking the time 😎👍🏼
You are welcome I am glad you enjoyed it.

I agree on the servo, I was quite bummed once we got it powered up and driving it. Everything else I was pretty happy with.

True you can adjust a little of what the servo does in the Bluetooth module. An upgraded servo could add even more
i like the vedeo but the 8s outcast rtr servo is great
I am glad it is working well for you.
Honestly I have 2 points. If you want durability hands down go with the sleage. But for a better driving performance go with the tailon
I like the way you think. But the talion is still pretty durable. I think it is a close race.

I will be interested to know how it does as well. But my hopes aren't high for it being a race truck.

That is a very fair comment about the price of everything increasing.
Horrible. Omg🤦🏽♂️
