Yes I repeat that, you are awesome. You have just helped me tremendously. Can you tell me how I can shorten or lengthen this cable? I am having a very hard and late shifting.
In the video. When he point to where the bracket is not engaged.
That part of the cable is the adjuster.
Pull the plastic fuel line style clip. Adjust. Replace clip.
Thanks Bud, I have been looking online for this info for sometime. I found your video, and now I can proceed to change out my cable on my 2005 LJ. I'm sur it will be the same or very close. Thanks!!
I do appreciate the help. I looked through some of your past posting. I'm a fan! Now a suscriber with notifications turned on.Cheers@@JM-AUTO
On this video would the process be the same for the select trac 4 low or 4 part time lever? Should the gear nob the left that has a cable attached to the transfer case that I need to follow? This is due to my shift nob sliding freely without engaging any of my 4 wheel drive it will only remain in 2 wheel drive. Thanks for reading and great video!!
It is similar but not exactly the same following the transfer case cable, but not hard at all.
DO you have the part number for this cable? I got the wrong cable as well and am told that the correct cable is discontinued and that this one will fit... However, it is too small for the bracket. Any ideas? Thanks
thanks for your comment, i can remember but im looking for the receipt so can see the pn but they told me the same that it was discontinued but i asked one of the guys to check a little deeper and he did and then is when he found it and he ordered it for me but it took about month and a half for the part to arrive, i will look rof the receipt, God bless you and family as well.
Anyone have any idea how the cable is adjusted? It looks like the white part on the retainer can be turned to unlock it and perhaps moved on the cable.
Hola, felicitaciones por tu video!.
Una duda: que falla tenia en la transmision automatica, o que era lo que no funcionaba bien esa Grand Cherokee, para que usted reemplace el cable de la palanca de cambios?
Hello, congratulations for your video!
One question: what was wrong with the automatic transmission, or what was wrong with that Grand Cherokee, for you to replace the gear lever cable?
ola Amigo pues el cable de la transmision se revento y por eso lo cambiamos y gracias por su comentario.
I find that the main problem is that new or used cables for 2000-2004 jeep grand Cherokees with 4.0 engines simply are not available-anywhere,
52104060-ad cable gear 21084001 this is the info for this cable for these cherokees, i still have the receipt but the dealer took about a month to get it for me. but you are absolutely right, they had a hard time finding it.
@@JM-AUTO Thanks but my Jeep is a 2000 and that year seems to be a stand alone vehicle. There must be a difference between it and the 2001-2004"s
@daviddejong187 been looking for the same cable 2000 wj 4.0. So far nothing. Have you found any luck yet?
What was the part number
