Have you ever asked yourself this question, found it lingering in your head for a few seconds then melted into thin air? We want to know, but that’s not important. An errant thought, soon forgotten amid life's ceaseless currents and eddies.
Death, until we die, feels vague and distant.
But what if you know the exact date of your death? What do you want to know? Would you do anything different? Here are the 05 things people would do, were they to know the date of their death.

Yeah, i noticed that as well, tho it seems to me they meant “illusions of strength”. They know the date they die so they off themselves, making it a self-fulfilled prophecy?
It is. Suicide is not just done by any person in despair. Suicide is a step taken by someone who accepts that they no longer want to live on the planet. No longer want to interact with their family, no longer want to make friends, and most importantly, they accept that they are quitters who will not be able to make anything of their life. It takes strength to admit that you are a loser and that you will never be able to redeem yourself.

I took it as, they _think_ they're strong, because they're taking control and deciding they die when they say, not when the string says.

Unpopular opinion: I would actually prefer to know the date on my string.
If it’s not far away I would be at least warned and prepared and therefore able to finish things I plan to finish before my death so I can leave a legacy.
If it’s like 50+ years in the future then practically nothing changes except for the fact I know there won’t be a nuclear war or some other Apocalypse during this time so I’ll be happier overall.
There’re many other people who join that logic: an acquaintance of mine said that if she had one wish she would ask how long do her parents have left to live so she can better understand how much time is there to be spent enjoying her time with them and taking care of them.
I'd like to know the rough time, but not the exact day. Like say it's August, but don't tell me it's on the 21st

Don't say that, you have everything to lose perhaps a future partner or future contributions you might make, you have your life to lose, not your physical life but your life down the road.
I faced this existential crisis after my father's unexpected passing. I finally landed on Faith. But not Faith in a higher being. It was Faith in my friends, and in my loved ones. And then... then I found out that Faith is not always rewarded, sometimes it is punished. Sometimes Faith, no matter how strong will find a day or reckoning. What happens then? Do you alter Faith to fit the new paradigm knowing that the paradigm could change again at any point? Or do you fall back into the cycle of destruction? It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't hurt so much.

What happens to those that just were born? Do they get a box? Their parents look in it and some keep it safe for them once they’re old enough to understand.
this reminds me of a game known as "devil survivor". the premise is similar to what the video desribed, but to add onto it it's a strategy rpg that takes place in tokyo japan during a demon invasion.

The string gives them the date they will die normally, if they suicide then they are doing something based on the string happening and decide to off themselves, it’s kinda like a chicken or the egg thing

I'd do the best I can for myself and everyone around me, something like I do now but with more effort and faith. I'd also do my best to become stronger and protect those who can't protect themselves from the chaos this event would bring.

You say that those of "strength" are able to pre-maturely kill themselves in a variety of ways before the string labels their time of death does the number become meaningless or does the number show a sort of immeasurable true death, what i mean by true death is the different ways that which we have classified death from the chest rising and falling to the heart ceasing to beat blood around the body and to today when the brain is void of electrical signals and becomes vegetive. these kinds of philosophical issues that i think about idk brains are weird or i guess another way to look at it is the string is based off what time someone would die if they never knew when they were going to die (if that makes sense)
