I've been following the Shadows since the early 1960s. Boasting the skill of the soloist Hank Marvin is too easy: he was a teacher for many self-taught guitarists. Here, on the other hand, I want to exalt the virtues of drummer Brian Bennet and Bruce Welch on rhythm guitar, who have always played without excess, in order to leave the soul and touch of the soloist in absolute evidence. To them my great esteem.
What a fabulous piece of music, played here by one of the very best bands. These guys are absolutely amazing and their output over the decades (even with some changes in line up) has been prodigious. Thanks guys for all the fantastic sounds you have given us to enjoy. Love this.
And I’m just starting to learn and play their music (68 yrs old) I’m on my 4th tune and wishing I started a long time ago instead of playing the tennis racket 😂😂 in the bedroom while listening to the record player

When was 16.I used listen to 9.00pm broadcast on my transistor radio. Hanks Fender guitar was one of the most fabulous sounds I've ever heard. As an instrumental group they will always be the forerunner & Best for me
15 when I first heard them in 1960, probably on radio Luxembourg. Love their sound, never tire of listening to them, no other band like them just brilliant.

I saw them live back in the late 80s here in Palmerston North, NZ (believe it or not). They were simply spellbinding and I've been a huge fan of theirs ever since they started. They were the benchmark for many instrumental groups.

I have listened to the shadows for the past 55 yesterday never missed a Yr they keep me feeling young, this tune will play me out from the departure lounge when the time comes to say I'm going home to my maker.
Dire Straits “Alchemy”,live album version,with the guitar and saxophone duet at the end is,in my humble opinion,the most awesome version ever! You can’t beat the sound of a live audience interacting with the band! Goosebumps,every time.
No doubt about them, the sound, feeling and love of their music never ceases to please me. I was a drummer and lead singer with my brothers in our band "The Shadows" until Hank and the boys came along and everything changed. There were so many guys trying so hard to copy the incredible sound of Hanks guitar, we came very close but didn't quite make it like many others. We were lucky to see "The Shadows" in their first visit to Australia at the Sydney stadium, they started playing their first instrumental was "Shazam" and the rest I don't think we ready heard any more as we were so entranced by just been there not believing we were just a stones throw from them. Are well the rest is history as I look back and remember all the wonderful times we've played instrumentals by "The Shadows" during many shows we done in over 50 years of entertaining our many fans an lovers of 'The Shadow" wonderful music, I'm pretty sure every show we ever did started off with a Shadows instrumental.
