@@jasonofmontreal I’m only in meadowbank so close to the bays where I see a lot of people doing it. I’ve thought about learning somewhere for a while. Keeeeen
@@JarrodBrown There are quite a lot of instructors around Auckland, its a good summer activity, but the initial progress can be slow in NZ because we don't get consistent winds very often unfortunately.
Yeah for sure! The 11m Orbit is amazing, good to see what I can still achieve with the gear. :) Didnt really think looping below 20kn would be possible so far, the 23 being faster helps quite alot though.
@@jenokuper Marc is cheating a little bit because he is also riding a 145 North Trace board, which really helps get upwind and send in those conditions. I was looping when I felt a little gust coming through so probably around 20-22 knots if I were to guess. But earlier this day I had this same 11m out in about 25-30 knots woosting 15m and doing kiteloops over 10m so it's super versatile.
I was wondering about the big board, dont think i am quite there just yet, but definetly interesting to see. Didnt use my orbits at the top of the windrange in forever because we didnt get any wind in summer. Oh well here's to hoping for a windy winter :)
Between a orbit quiver of 8,9,12 and 8,9,11 what would you pick? Lets say you have a 15m for the light stuff. Seeing how you loop the 11m and seeing that the 12m is very tricky to loop makes me wonder if it is worth pulling an 11m with a larger 145 board rather than riding the 12m with a 139 to progress loops.
I had 9/11 for ages and they covered me from 18-35 knots beautifully, an 8m would be good for 30-40 at my size. It really depends what winds you get, and how big you are. My favourite orbit is the 9m, but I always ride the 11 the most
My mate is on a 145 trace board to give him the extra juice, I was waiting for some gust before I looped, so perhaps up to 20-22 with the loops and bigger jumps. Always a little tricky to be sure of the wind, but my friends riding at another local spot just a few km away were all on 12's struggling to do much and on a number of tacks I couldn't get upwind myself 😂
@@anderslarsson8544 What I've found having a 14m Orbit, is I would prefer a lighter kite (3 strut) for the really light days. I was able to ride it fine however over 20 knots, and still have control and even jump well when a 25+ knot squall came through, but in that wind I'd probably rather be on a smaller kite of course (or get back into foiling)... I used to have a 15m Juice and it flew in nothing and was really good for what I'm thinking of. I have also tested one of the 14.5m aluula kites from Ocean Rodeo and they feel like they're only 12/13m sized kites so that's a great modern option, but they are crazy expensive.
Loop o'clock 🤣🤣!! Very fun to watch !
Thanks One Launch, it was a fun session
This is actually so dope. Makes me want to learn
It's the best hobby you'll ever learn... if you live somewhere with decent enough conditions for it

Love it! Always inspiring to see whats possible in such light wind with the right skills🤙
Absolutely, the right gear helps too!

Haha bit of a dodgy entry. Love it
Those basalt magma rocks got some bite if you kiss them 😂
Sooo good dude!!! 🙌
Could have used a second set of woohoo's in the background 😂
Never seen someone winding his lines below the bar. Great idea
seems to work best on north at least
@@jasonofmontreal Thanks :) I got the North bar too and will try it next session

i have the same question.
I have 8 and 15 and would like to buy a 11 and a 9 later.

Sick spot!!
Not exactly your every session location, but a good laugh
Loop o'clock 🤗
When you feel the gusts, you gotta make the most 👌
Surprised at 17 to 20 your going so well. I wouldn't have enough on my V10 edge for that.

Who needs Raro Tonga/Aitutaki/Brazil when you have this spot in NZ 😎😎😎
Have tried to go looping with the 12m Orbit (any of them 2020-23?).
Only a few times back with the '20 and '21, and the 2020 Pulse. Make sure you're at least 8-9m high if you don't want to eat shit 😂

Hello, your friend is using the bar with how many meters of lines?
We’re both on 22’s in this video
@@jasonofmontreal thanks !!!
how many meters were most of those jumps?
It wasn’t very strong wind so probably 7-10m
